  • Day to day provide technical direction to the team who is accountable for cloud entitlements and governance at scale: mature the access management, RBAC, and policy guardrail systems that govern Nike's multi-cloud footprint across AWS, Azure, Ali cloud and GCP.
  • Embed AI-native practices: champion agentic and AI-assisted engineering patterns across your squads; identify where LLM and automation tooling can accelerate platform capabilities, not just developer productivity
  • Operate as a platform owner, not just a Lead Software engineer: hold engineering standards, define SLOs, drive operational excellence, and ensure the Management Plane is reliable, observable, and secure.
  • Bridge India based talent and global engineering: build tight co-ownership partnerships with US-based counterparts, ensuring the Bangalore team is a first-class engineering hub, focus on value delivery & engineering excellence.

Nike appoints former Foot Locker exec as Converse's COO.

Nike appoints former Foot Locker exec as Converse's COO. August 30, 2026 Nike Inc. appointed Kristin Bauer, formerly chief supply chain officer at Foot Locker, as chief operating officer at Converse, effective September 14. Bauer will report to Venky Alagirisamy, Nike's chief operating officer. The hiring was revealed in an internal memo from Aaron Cain, president and CEO of Converse since July 2025, obtained by Bloomberg News. Bauer was chief supply chain officer at Foot Locker from Jul 2023 to Apr 2026. Previously, she was chief supply chain officer at TCGplayer.com from September 2021 to July 2023, and vice president, logistics strategy & analytics at TJX Companies, Inc. from March 2019 to September 2021. She was at Ulta Beauty for five years from April 2014 to Mar 2019, with her last role being vice president, supply chain strategy & operations. The hiring comes as Converse has seen 13 straight quarters of declines. In Nike's fiscal year ended May 31, 2026, revenues for Converse were $1.2 billion, down 31 percent on a reported basis and off 32 percent on a currency-neutral basis, due to declines across all territories. In the prior fiscal year, sales declined 19 percent on a reported basis and 18 percent on a currency-neutral basis. Converse reached its peak annual sales of $2.4 billion in fiscal year 2023. Nike president and CEO Elliott Hill in early April said Nike remains committed to Converse despite widespread speculation around the sale of the brand as part of its restructuring. He said on Nike's third quarter analyst call, "Converse will remain an important part of the Nike, Inc. family, and we are excited about its long-term prospects. Overall, the work is not finished, but the direction is clear. Our teams are moving with focus and urgency, and our foundation is getting even stronger." Images courtesy Nike Inc.

Nike appoints ex-Foot Locker supply chain chief Kristin Bauer as Converse COO

Nike has appointed Kristin Bauer as chief operating officer at Converse, effective 14 September. Bauer, formerly chief supply chain officer at Foot Locker, will report to Nike's chief operating officer Venky Alagirisamy. She brings experience from supply chain and logistics roles at companies including TJX Cos and Ulta Beauty. The appointment comes as Converse faces significant challenges, with revenue falling 32% in Nike's fourth quarter. The sharp decline prompted some analysts to suggest Nike should consider divesting the brand. GlobalData's managing director Neil Saunders questioned whether Nike has the capacity to revive Converse, describing the quarter as "nothing short of a disaster." Bauer's operational expertise will be crucial as the brand attempts to reverse its fortunes.

Walmart exec Jane Ewing takes Nike CCO post. On Aug 27, 2026 Ewing will lead shoe and apparel company's global marketplace operations, including direct-to-consumer business. August 27, 2026 5:00 PM, EDT (David Paul Morris/Bloomberg and Ting Shen/Bloomberg) Key takeaways: * Nike hired Jane Ewing from Walmart as chief commercial officer, effective Sept. 7, to lead its global marketplace organization. * The move comes as Nike seeks to revive sales by emphasizing individual sports, while Converse and its China business continue to struggle. * Ewing will oversee Nike Direct and wholesale operations as CEO Elliott Hill pushes to accelerate growth across both channels. Nike Inc. said it hired Jane Ewing from Walmart Inc. to become the sportswear company's chief commercial officer. She will join Nike starting Sept. 7, Nike said on its website. She spent nearly 14 years at Walmart and was most recently interim CEO for Sam's Club in China. She has also worked at Diageo, a beverage company headquartered in London. Walmart ranks No. 1 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest private carriers in North America. Nike is trying to revive sales from an extended bout of sluggishness by focusing on individual sports rather than lifestyle products. Under CEO Elliott Hill, Nike's running division has improved, but its Converse brand and China business have struggled to turn around. Ewing will lead Nike's global marketplace organization, which includes direct-to-consumer efforts, the company said. She will help to "accelerate growth across Nike Direct and wholesale," Hill said in the memo. Nike's stock has declined about 40% so far this year, versus a 13% gain for the S&P 500 Index.
