Requirements
  • 15+ years of experience in entertainment, communications, media, marketing, advocacy, consulting, or a related field, with public affairs knowledge or policy expertise and a demonstrated track record of building trusted relationships and influence within culture.
  • An established network and strong credibility across entertainment, talent representation, media, sports, philanthropy, or other cultural institutions, with the ability to continually expand and deepen those relationships.
  • Deep understanding of how influence moves through today’s media ecosystem and how cultural narratives shape public perception, legitimacy, and behavior.
  • Exceptional strategic judgment and the ability to advise CEOs, foundation presidents, communications executives, and other senior leaders on complex, high-stakes challenges.
  • Experience building a practice, leading a business line, managing a profit-and-loss statement, generating new business, or otherwise contributing to profitable growth.
  • Experience creating new capabilities and operating effectively in ambiguity.
  • Ability to operate across mission-driven organizations, public affairs, philanthropy, entertainment, media, and the broader cultural landscape.
Responsibilities
  • Define and evolve the Cultural Mobilization practice, including its operating model, service offerings, methodologies, and intellectual property.
  • Establish and evolve service offerings and associated deliverables for the practice and firm.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead the team as the practice grows, while representing BPI externally through speaking, publishing, industry engagement, and business development.
  • Present to senior clients to demonstrate expertise, establish BPI as first chair, and ensure the work drives maximum impact.
  • Develop and execute a marketing and visibility strategy to elevate the practice’s profile and drive awareness among prospective clients.
  • Build BPI’s cultural intelligence capability by identifying narratives, communities, creators, platforms, and moments shaping public attitudes and behavior across entertainment, sports, gaming, podcasts, digital media, and beyond.
  • Identify and leverage cultural mapping tools to understand audience behavior, trusted voices, stories, communities, and cultural opportunities.
  • Identify emerging cultural trends, opportunities, and reputational risks, translating them into actionable recommendations for clients and internal teams.
  • Partner with the Insights team to produce cultural intelligence briefings, trend analyses, and strategic insights.
  • Lead BPI’s cultural lobbying practice by building sustained relationships with cultural figures and institutions.
  • Develop and steward a network of advisors, partners, and cultural experts across entertainment, sports, music, gaming, live events, and other sectors.
  • Cultivate relationships, partnerships, and institutional knowledge that provide early access to emerging ideas, influential voices, and cultural moments.
  • Position BPI as a trusted thought partner within the cultural ecosystem through long-term relationships with clients and creative communities.
  • Partner with senior client leaders to identify where culture can accelerate their priorities and translate business, advocacy, and policy objectives into cultural strategies.
  • Advise clients on building credibility, relationships, and influence within culture, integrating cultural mobilization with earned, owned, paid, and public affairs strategies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to CEOs, foundation presidents, communications executives, advocacy leaders, and campaign teams on cultural strategy, narrative development, and relationship-building.
  • Translate strategy into action by partnering with BPI client teams and a curated network of specialists.
  • Design engagement approaches, assemble collaborators, and stay involved in flagship work to ensure execution reflects the practice’s quality and strategic intent.
  • Build, manage, and expand a trusted network of contractors, advisors, and subject-matter experts for client engagements.
  • Equip BPI client teams with tools, guidance, and support to deliver cultural mobilization work, while developing scalable methodologies, playbooks, and measurement frameworks.

Bully Pulpit buys 365 Sherpas, making Germany its third-largest market

Washington-based communications consultancy Bully Pulpit International has acquired Berlin-based corporate affairs firm 365 Sherpas from the Hirschen Group. The deal makes Germany BPI's third-largest market worldwide. Founded in 2009, BPI employs over 300 consultants and previously expanded into Europe by acquiring Boldt in 2024 and UK firms Seven Hills and Message House. The combined Berlin and Brussels teams of 365 Sherpas and Boldt BPI will operate under the 365 Sherpas BPI brand in Germany, with nearly 100 consultants. 365 Sherpas' three managing partners—Cornelius Winter, Jan Böttger and Daniel Wixforth—will become BPI partners, with Winter joining the Global Executive Leadership Team. The Hirschen Group will become BPI's exclusive creative partner in continental Europe.

LOS ANGELES - Bully Pulpit International has acquired LA-based impact agency Propper Daley for an undisclosed price, expanding its cultural influence expertise and US footprint into two new markets The acquisition brings together BPI's expertise in strategic communications and public affairs with Propper Daley's strength in cultural engagement, including partnerships with celebrities, nonprofits, and brands. Propper Daley has worked with organizations such as Waymo, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation and pop stars John Legend and Shawn Mendes to advance social change. "Impact can't be achieved through policy and traditional advocacy alone - changing culture is the way forward," said BPI President Andrew Bleeker. "Propper Daley understands how to shift attitudes and behaviors through influence, and we're thrilled to integrate their expertise into BPI."
