Requirements
  • A minimum of a master's degree in a specific degree for the position being recruited or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a specifically related field.
  • A minimum of one-year full-time teaching experience, or the equivalent as an adjunct instructor.
  • An equivalent or applicable combination of education and experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position is required.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and teaching experience equating to two years.
  • A strong background in computers and technology, general office skills, the ability to research and effectively analyze data, and the ability to work independently toward established goals and deadlines.
  • Successful completion of a background check is required, as well as a motor vehicle records report when applicable.
  • Employees must reside in Colorado and be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Teach the assigned course load.
  • Evaluate courses and assess student learning.
  • Meet established course, program, and learning outcomes.
  • Comply with applicable guidelines and policies.
  • Maintain office hours according to established standards.
  • Develop rapport with students and assist with advising, orientation, and registration activities.
  • Engage in scholarly and creative activities that enhance discipline expertise and learning.
  • Participate in campus and college committees, relevant projects, assessment activities, program review, student organizations, recruiting, and retention.
  • Teach classes as assigned by the designated supervisor.
  • Prepare lesson plans for each course in accordance with approved course objectives.
  • Develop and submit course outlines and syllabi to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Assist with developing measurable course objectives and plans.
  • Develop professional relationships with students and staff that encourage teacher-student communication.
  • Maintain accurate student course records and complete required course forms.
  • Be available for student consultation.
  • Assist in recruiting students as appropriate.
  • Assist in evaluating curriculum and instructional performance when agreed upon and appropriate.
  • Represent the college professionally throughout its communities and college district.
  • Engage in professional development as required for credentialing.
  • The position may supervise student employees.
  • Adhere to safety and compliance policies while performing assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
