Requirements
  • One year of work experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric setting.
  • A current Florida Licensed Practical Nursing license is required.
  • Must pass a Level 2 background check through the Florida Department of Children and Families and Agency for Health Care Administration Clearinghouse.
Responsibilities
  • Gather information for comprehensive assessments covering psychiatric history, mental status and diagnosis, physical and dental health, substance use, education and employment, social development and functioning, activities of daily living, and family structure and relationships.
  • Provide direct clinical services to clients individually and in groups and families, in office and community settings, including behavioral symptom-management techniques and support for coping with stress.
  • Provide individual vocational-supportive counseling to help clients identify vocational strengths and problems, establish career goals and plans, and address mental-illness symptoms that interfere with work.
  • Assist clients in finding and maintaining safe and affordable housing, including apartment searches, roommate placement, landlord negotiations, cleaning, furnishing, decorating, and procuring necessities.
  • Organize and lead individual and group social and recreational activities to structure clients' time, increase social experiences, and provide opportunities to practice social skills and receive feedback and support.
