About the job

Requirements
  • Have German pharmacist licensure (Approbation) or an EU-recognized pharmacy qualification with a clear path to German licensure, or hold an MSc/PhD in pharmaceutics, pharmaceutical sciences, or industrial pharmacy with equivalent hands-on formulation depth.
  • Have at least 5 years of hands-on formulation experience in pharma, nutraceutical, compounding, or contract manufacturing, covering oral solid dose and at least one of sterile injectables or topicals.
  • Have deep working knowledge of excipient functionality and compatibility, and encapsulation/tableting unit operations.
  • Have practical command of dissolution, content uniformity, and stability study design and interpretation.
  • Have experience formulating poorly soluble or low-dose actives.
  • Have working command of EU GMP (EudraLex Volume 4), Annex 1, and the Apothekenbetriebsordnung (ApBetrO) or an equivalent manufacturing-pharmacy framework.
  • Demonstrate rigor in documentation, including batch records, specifications, SOPs, and maintaining a clean data trail.
Responsibilities
  • Design oral solid-dose capsule and tablet formulations from active properties, selecting excipients matched to each compound's solubility, stability, and dosing profile.
  • Design sterile injectable formulations for the peptide pipeline, including lyophile design, bulking agents, cryoprotectants, small-scale vial fill/finish, reconstitution protocols, and container-closure compatibility; apply EU GMP Annex 1 and applicable AMG/AMWHV requirements.
  • Own encapsulation, blending, and aseptic processing end to end, including powder characterization, blend and content uniformity, capsule fill-weight control, scale-up from bench to production batches, and sterility assurance for injectables.
  • Develop reproducible techniques to address oral-side challenges such as low aqueous solubility, poor flow, and dose accuracy at small fill weights, and injectable-side challenges such as stability through lyophilization and reconstitution, copper-complex integrity, and peptide aggregation.
  • Build and run analytical testing and stability programs, including dissolution, assay/potency, content and weight uniformity, sterility, endotoxin, and accelerated and long-term stability studies to establish shelf life.
  • Write and maintain master formulation records, batch records, specifications, and SOPs; define and enforce in-spec criteria and maintain clean data trails.
  • Partner with sourcing and quality control on raw-material specifications, incoming API characterization, and supplier qualification; build a qualified supplier network.
  • Continuously improve processes to reduce variability, improve stability, and lower cost per dose without compromising quality.
Desired Qualifications
  • Have sterile injectable or lyophilization experience, especially peptide formulations.
  • Have a background in a German Herstellungsapotheke, hospital pharmacy compounding unit, or EU-licensed contract manufacturer.
  • Have experience formulating GLP-1 analogs such as semaglutide or tirzepatide, or other peptide manufacturing under a quality-grade framework.
  • Have familiarity with cognitive or performance compounds, or the broader peptide and longevity therapeutic landscape.
  • Have hands-on experience with HPLC, dissolution apparatus, particle sizing, and Karl Fischer titration.
  • Be comfortable owning scale-up from R&D batches to production.
  • Have working proficiency in German for regulatory and documentation contexts and English as the team working language.

About the company

Molecule runs a decentralized biotech marketplace that connects scientists and researchers with investors to fund and advance novel research and intellectual property. Its platform tokenizes IP into IP-NFTs and enables the creation of Bio-DAOs, letting researchers raise funds and investors gain fractional ownership in early-stage biotech assets. The process works by packaging research projects as IP-NFTs and organizing collaborative governance through Bio-DAOs, with trades and funding occurring on a decentralized platform that charges transaction or onboarding fees. Molecule differentiates itself by embracing the DeSci trend, using tokenization and fractional ownership to streamline asset transfer, fundraising, and collaboration across the life sciences, rather than relying on traditional venture-backed rounds. The goal is to accelerate innovation in drug development and other scientific research by providing new funding avenues and a more open, efficient market for research assets.

What believers are saying

  • September 2026 Labs added verifiable authorship and timestamping for scientific records.
  • January 2026 CryoDAO partnership expanded cryopreservation dealflow into Molecule's tokenized pipeline.
  • Molecule's June 2026 DeSci.Berlin showed durable ecosystem leadership and active founder gravity.

What critics are saying

  • SEC scrutiny on token-to-equity structures can freeze U.S. commercialization timelines in 2026.
  • DeSci adoption stays niche; no Molecule-originated compound has reached Phase 2 or 3.
  • Bio.xyz and Bio Protocol increasingly absorb attention, risking Molecule becoming infrastructure, not employer.

What makes Molecule unique

  • Molecule Labs turns research IP, data, and funding into onchain, auditable assets.
  • March 2026 Science Beach fused AI agents and humans into automated research coordination.
  • Molecule's SEC March 2, 2026 meeting shows unusually serious regulatory design work.

How Molecule Is Accelerating Medical Research Through Tokenised Ip And Decentralised Biotech Funding

Academic research is challenging. Obtaining grants and financial support for research projects is highly competitive and time-consuming. Researchers typically juggle multiple projects, including teaching, and they also have to deal with realities like data management and ethics. But now, a movement called Decentralised Science (DeSci) aims to transform traditional scientific research by connecting patients, scientists, investors, biotech DAOs, and novel crowdfunding methods. It democratises access to research funding through greater transparency, open access, and collaborative efforts, thus accelerating scientific breakthroughs.DeSci leverages blockchain-based platforms, tools, NFTs, tokens, decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs), and Web3 principles to facilitate funding for scientific research. From online communities to open source bioscienceI spoke to a pioneer of the DeSci movement, Paul Kohlhaas, founder and Chief Architect at Molecule, a platform dedicated to accelerating scientific research and bringing intellectual property onchain through community-driven initiatives. It's like crowdfunding on steroids, where instead of getting an item in exchange for your funding, you get a cut of the intellectual property (IP).Kohlhaas spent his youth engaging with online biohacking forums and patient communities on platforms like Reddit, where online communities focused on tackling medical challenges—like diabetic patients collaborating to develop their own insulin due to its prohibitive cost in the US. From HIV communities exploring gene therapies to cancer patient groups sharing experimental treatments, nootropics and longevity, there was a community for virtually everything. He recalls:"What struck me was the collaborative and open spirit of these groups

Molecule Lands a $13 Million Seed Funding Round for Decentralised Science Platform - The Daily Encrypt

Northpond Ventures led the round that saw Molecule raise $13 million in seed capital. Backed VC and Shine Capital were also part of the round, as was Speedinvest, Speedinvest, and Balaji Srinivasan, former Coinbase CTO. This protocol views itself as part decentralized science, which is a movement that allows research projects to be owned and funded collectively.
