About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in data or analytics engineering, including at least 1 year owning a production dbt project of meaningful size.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for production-grade data pipelines and modeling.
  • Deep expertise in dbt, including incremental strategies, full-refresh tradeoffs, Jinja, macros, packages, generic and singular tests, snapshots, source freshness, exposures, and management of project DAGs and materializations.
  • Strong command of Snowflake and the surrounding cloud data stack.
  • Experience modeling in a multi-tenant environment and deciding whether client requests belong in client-specific or core layers.
  • Working knowledge of marketing and advertising datasets, including UTMs, attribution windows, and differences between platform-reported and warehouse-reported conversions.
  • Experience designing and managing end-to-end data lifecycles from ingestion to serving, with reliability for BI and AI applications.
  • Familiarity with GCP and infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Experience using AI-agentic development workflows, such as Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot, for coding, debugging, and system architecture.
  • Ability to architect AI-ready data models, including feature stores and semantic layers.
  • Experience with Git and CI/CD best practices, including trusted automated testing.
  • Ability to ship iteratively and refine data products based on live feedback.
  • Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain the core data foundation, including ingestion, modeling, and data marts, from raw platform data through serving layers for agency, client, internal, and AI consumers.
  • Build ingestion that handles advertising-platform API changes, deprecated fields, rate limits, and retroactive conversion restatements without corrupting downstream models.
  • Model and reconcile spend, impressions, conversions, and revenue across Meta, Google, TikTok, Amazon, LinkedIn, and Microsoft, and join customer-level data across Shopify, Klaviyo, GA4, and client CRMs.
  • Build client-specific models, custom logic, overrides, and marts in response to recurring client requests, extending the shared foundation rather than forking it.
  • Build semantic layers and metric definitions that enable AI-generated SQL to return consistent, correct answers.
  • Use AI-agentic workflows, including AI coding tools, to accelerate development and build intelligent data infrastructure; document effective approaches as reusable team patterns.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering, AI and innovation, and client teams to translate requirements into data solutions and support iteration on products and features.
  • Monitor and resolve data-quality issues and optimize pipelines for cost and performance across a multi-client warehouse.
  • Reduce median development time for new pipeline and modeling requests by 20% within the first 6 months, document and productionize at least one reusable AI-agentic development pattern within 90 days and at least two within 12 months, and achieve adoption of each pattern in at least two production workflows or projects.
  • Maintain at least 99% accuracy and completeness for critical client- and AI-facing fields, and at least a 95% successful scheduled pipeline execution rate for owned production pipelines, excluding documented upstream outages.
  • Deliver at least 90% of assigned client-specific modeling requests within agreed turnaround times and evaluate and document whether applicable bespoke logic belongs in the shared core or client-specific layer for all material modeling changes.
  • Launch or materially migrate at least two major production data assets within 12 months, demonstrate at least two active downstream consumers, applications, or teams per asset within 90 days of launch, and achieve a 20% reduction in related recurring support tickets or another agreed adoption or efficiency target.
  • Build and ship end-to-end data systems that enable AI features.
  • Deliver production-ready datasets and pipelines that unblock AI, product, and client teams.
  • Reduce fragmentation by building unified, AI-ready data foundations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Agency, consultancy, or services experience, including working across many clients with different technology stacks.
  • Experience with measurement work such as incrementality, media mix modeling, or attribution.
  • Experience with server-side tagging or retail and marketplace data.
