Oliver joins from Hanway Commercial, where he spent almost a decade, progressing from graduate surveyor to director. He specialises in business rates appeals and mitigation, advising landlords and occupiers on opportunities to reduce their rates liabilities. In his new role, Oliver will focus on expanding Avison Young's rating and technology presence across the South East, working alongside the firm's national team of specialists. Oliver said: "The industrial and distribution market across the South East continues to evolve, and occupiers and landlords need practical, commercially focused advice to help them manage cost pressures and navigate a changing and complex rates environment. "I'm looking forward to working alongside our specialists across the UK to combine local market knowledge with national insight and offer clients an even stronger service." Danny joins from software development company Civica, where he spent two years as a product specialist. He will support the continued development of Avison Young's technology platform, exploring how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies can improve efficiency and enhance services for clients. "I'm excited to help shape the next stage of Avison Young's rating and technology platform, using AI and other emerging technologies in a practical and responsible way to deliver value to our growing client base across the UK." Their appointments form part of Avison Young's wider growth strategy for its rating and technology division, with a focus on investing in specialist expertise and digital innovation to support clients across the UK. David Jones, principal and managing director, business rates at Avison Young, added: "We are very pleased to welcome Oliver and Danny to the rating and technology team. Civica partners with HIMvisible to support men's mental health. Civica, a global GovTech champion supporting the needs of citizens and those that serve them every day, has announced a new partnership with HIMvisible, a community-led men's mental health charity based in St Helens, supporting its relaunch and helping more men access peer support when they need it most. Through a combination of funding, employee volunteering and professional expertise, Civica will support HIMvisible as it resumes weekly support sessions and expands its reach across St Helens and neighbouring communities. The partnership reflects Civica's commitment to supporting the communities where its people live and work. Founded more than five years ago, HIMvisible provides a safe space where men can talk openly, connect with others and access support without judgement. Following a pause in activity, the charity is relaunching with a renewed mission: to ensure more men know they are not alone and that help is available. To mark the relaunch, HIMvisible and Civica are inviting local residents, organisations and community groups to take part in an awareness walk on Saturday 10 October, coinciding with World Mental Health Day and starting at 10.30am. The ten-mile route will begin at the Totally Wicked Stadium in St Helens and finish at the Brick Community Stadium in Wigan, bringing people together across borough boundaries to raise awareness of men's mental health. Jessica Collingwood-Terry, Chief People Officer at Civica, said: "At Civica, we believe strong communities are built when people feel supported and connected. HIMvisible is doing important work to create safe spaces where men can speak openly about their mental health and access help. We're proud to support their relaunch and encourage colleagues and local communities to get involved and make a difference." Steve Thornton, Founder of HIMvisible, said: "Too many men feel they have to face difficult times on their own. HIMvisible exists to show that it's OK to talk and that support is available. Civica's backing will help us reach more people, reopen our weekly sessions and continue building a community where no one feels they have to struggle alone. We hope the walk encourages conversations that could change, or even save, lives." Those interested in taking part in the walk can register their interest by contacting the HIMvisible team.

Civica & Greehill partner on AI urban forestry. 21st April 2026 Civica's ArborSafe and greehill announce partnership to advance urban forest management for councils and communities. Civica, a global leader in software solutions for the public sector, and greehill, the leading provider of AI-powered Smart Urban Tree Management, today announced a partnership, to support councils, communities and private organisations in improving urban forest management, reducing risk and strengthening long-term environmental resilience. The partnership connects Civica's ArborSafe platform, a trusted solution for asset and tree safety management - with greehill's AI and 3D digital-twin technology. The result is a seamlessly connected system that strengthens urban forest management by providing precise insights into canopy health, species distribution, risk exposure and long-term environmental value. Sanctuary Cove Estate, already a Civica customer, will be among the first communities to benefit from these enhanced capabilities. By pairing greehill's LiDAR-based scanning, high-resolution digital twins and advanced analytics with Civica's platform ArborSafe, the estate will gain a clearer, more reliable understanding of its local tree population, supporting proactive maintenance, improved resident safety and long-term planning. Adrian Brincat, Market Leader Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) at Civica APAC, said: "Our partnership with greehill marks an important evolution in the way councils can manage and protect their natural assets. By bringing together ArborSafe's proven compliance and safety capabilities with greehill's next-generation AI forestry intelligence, we're equipping councils and private organisations with a far more powerful and complete view of their urban environments. This will deliver meaningful environmental outcomes while reducing operational risk and improving the liveability of communities." Peter Sasi, Vice-President Asian Pacific at greehill said: "Urban forest management doesn't suffer from a lack of data, it suffers from a lack of usable intelligence. greehill addresses this by providing a consistent, scalable understanding of urban forests across entire cities. Through this partnership with Civica, that intelligence can be directly embedded into operational workflows, enabling better decisions, reduced risk and more effective long-term management." Brent Whiteman, Business Development Manager at Civica APAC and Peter Sasi said of Sanctuary Cove: "Sanctuary Cove has always been proactive in the way it manages its public spaces, and this partnership gives them a powerful new level of visibility. With greehill's detailed modelling feeding directly into ArborSafe, the council can confidently plan maintenance, reduce tree-related risks and support its long-term sustainability goals." Together, Civica ArborSafe and greehill are enabling councils and community estates to transition from fragmented tree data to integrated urban forest intelligence - turning insight into action and creating safer, greener and more liveable communities.
