Millie and El Camino launch joint maternity clinic and more digital health news.

Millie and El Camino launch joint maternity clinic and more digital health news. Lyric partners with Verisys to improve payment accuracy, and Carenet Health acquires Invene to automate interoperability and improve health outcomes. By Eve Bender, Healthcare Reporter | October 16, 2026 | 4:23 PM Technology-enabled women's health company Millie and El Camino Health announced a joint maternity clinic scheduled to open in Palo Alto, California, in December to connect Millie's maternity-led care with the health system's hospital and specialty services. The clinic's services will span preconception, pregnancy and postpartum care, including miscarriage management, lactation support, mental health services and nutrition counseling. Postpartum support will include a home visit and remote monitoring, with patients connected to El Camino Health's labor and delivery services. "We built Millie to reimagine maternity care around what families need: a connected and supportive experience with better outcomes," Anu Sharma, Millie's founder and CEO, said in a statement. "We're excited to partner with El Camino Health to bring that vision to more families through a model that combines trusted health system expertise with a modern, relationship-based approach to care." The organizations said the joint clinic will provide coordinated care beyond a traditional referral arrangement. El Camino Health handles approximately 5,000 births annually, and its Mountain View campus includes the Melchor Family Center for Women and Newborns, which supports high-risk deliveries and neonatal intensive care. The Palo Alto location is part of a wider expansion planned by the partners across Silicon Valley and the Bay Area. The partners are developing a second clinic in the South Bay, expected to open in the coming months. Healthcare payment technology company Lyric has partnered with provider data company Verisys to explore how verified provider information can improve claims decisions, beginning with payment accuracy. The collaboration will bring Verisys data into the Lyric42 platform, aiming to help health plans identify providers with expired or revoked licenses, sanctions or exclusions from federal health programs. The companies aim to flag those risks earlier and reduce unnecessary reviews for providers who meet requirements. "Health plans want to pay providers who meet every requirement with confidence and focus their attention where the real risk is," Brian Berkowitz, Lyric's chief product officer, said in a statement. Lyric42 is an AI healthcare intelligence platform focused on payment accuracy and cost-of-care workflows. It combines information from Lyric products and outside partners to create recommendations accompanied by supporting explanations, while leaving decisions with clients. The companies said Verisys' information on provider eligibility, licensure and compliance could add context to those recommendations. Specific products, use cases and operating arrangements will be determined as the partnership develops. Healthcare engagement company Carenet Health has acquired Invene, a healthcare AI, data engineering and technology consulting firm, to expand on its technology consulting capabilities. Invene works with payers, providers, value-based care organizations, electronic health record companies and health technology businesses. Its services include AI strategy, agentic AI, automation, data engineering and interoperability, with a focus on reducing manual work and supporting technology implementation. "We built Invene to solve the hardest technology problems in healthcare. Carenet deepens our ability to do this end-to-end, with more organizations," James Griffin, Invene founder and president, said in a statement. "Our clients gain a proven, full-service healthcare engagement partner and Carenet's clients benefit from our deep expertise in data and AI." Griffin and Invene's team, along with its network of independent consultants and engineers, are joining Carenet. Invene will operate as a Carenet Health company. Both businesses will continue serving healthcare organizations beyond the other's client base. Carenet Health acquires Orbita, advancing ai-powered patient engagement for healthcare providers. Wednesday, October 14, 2026 Carenet Health (Carenet), the engagement, navigation, and clinical execution partner to more than 400 of America's leading payers, providers, and health technology and services companies, today announced the acquisition of Orbita, an AI-powered patient engagement and communication platform serving health systems and specialty provider groups. The move deepens Carenet's technology and AI infrastructure to orchestrate support where healthcare consumer journeys often break down: when patients need to find care, schedule it, prepare, and follow through. Orbita's agentic AI platform automates education and communication end-to-end, with pre-built integrations to all major electronic health record (EHR/EMR) and customer relationship management (CRM) systems. On its mission to help client partners succeed in making healthcare more accessible, affordable, and effective at improving outcomes, Carenet continuously invests in technology to advance healthcare engagement at scale. "Our clinical roots, technology foundation, operational excellence, and decades of insights are unmatched, and we deliberately build and acquire capabilities that amplify those strengths," said Christopher Rogers, President of Carenet Health. "Orbita's platform perfectly complements our stack, ensuring our clients benefit from the most efficient blend of automation, AI, and empathetic human support." Founded in 2015, Orbita was among the first companies to apply conversational AI to healthcare, and has since delivered more than 50 million automated patient interactions and served over 1.5 million patients. Its solutions include digital front door, patient access and acquisition, and care navigation. Health systems using the platform have reported a 53% reduction in same-day cancellations, a 30% increase in patient throughput, and a 25% improvement in operational efficiency. Orbita's talented team joins Carenet immediately. Orbita clients retain their platform, existing programs, and support teams while gaining access to Carenet's full breadth of clinical and non-clinical engagement services and technology, global delivery capacity, and data insights. Carenet clients gain a proven, clinical-grade, system-of-record-integrated AI layer that further extends Intelligent Engagement(TM) into their workflows and enhances the digital channels through which patients interact. The acquisition reflects Carenet's disciplined merger and acquisition (M&A) strategy, focused on opportunities that expand AI and technology, clinical capabilities, and geo-diversity while creating measurable value for clients. Orbita is Carenet's 11th acquisition, and the company expects to announce additional transactions in coming weeks.
