About the Job

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of demonstrated experience in a highly strategic, client-facing individual-contributor role in enterprise B2B SaaS or consulting, with responsibility for enterprise renewals, expansion sales, and commercial negotiations.
  • A proven track record of managing and influencing complex enterprise commercial pursuits without direct authority over cross-functional teams, partnering with dedicated Customer Success Managers and technical leads.
  • Ability to conceptualize, structure, and deliver executive-grade presentations that lead with recommendations, are data-driven, and articulate business impact and risk mitigation.
  • Proven success driving commercial outcomes, including leading large enterprise contract renewals, upsells, and long-term client financial roadmaps.
  • Experience navigating Fortune 500-level organizations, particularly fragmented and siloed environments with multiple executive sponsors and competing priorities.
  • Executive communication and influencing skills without direct authority, persistence, commercial judgment, and the ability to navigate objections while maintaining composure and confidence with senior leaders.
  • Deep understanding of customer experience and/or contact center operations and the business value of AI or generative AI solutions in this space.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to discuss integrations, solution capabilities, and their business implications.
  • Ability to travel up to 10–20% to client sites for commercial workshops, executive engagement, and negotiations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Identify decision makers, budget owners, and procurement stakeholders for each renewal or expansion opportunity, and align on purchase requirements, approvals, and timelines.
  • Develop, champion, and execute multi-year commercial growth plans for renewals and expansion, aligned with the Customer Success Manager-owned account strategy and customer success roadmap.
  • Own account financial health, expansion, long-term commercial structure, and renewal and expansion forecasting provided to Operations.
  • Structure, drive, and govern complex renewal and expansion pursuits.
  • Lead the commercial cycle for the solution by coordinating technical validation, proposals, approvals, and customer buying activities through signature and post-close handoff; implementation execution is owned by Delivery.
  • Translate AI capabilities and performance data into business-value narratives supporting investment decisions, proposals, renewals, and expansion negotiations, using Customer Success-validated value evidence.
  • Qualify and convert growth opportunities, including new use cases, departments, and lines of business, into signed expansion agreements.
  • Advocate for customer commercial requirements and investment priorities in partnership with the Customer Success Manager, who owns broader customer success strategy and voice-of-customer feedback.
  • Serve as the executive-facing commercial leader for accounts and contribute commercial sections to Customer Success Manager-owned Quarterly and Executive Business Reviews when appropriate.
  • Own the commercial account growth plan and pursuit strategy, including purchasing milestones, investment decisions, and commercial success criteria; engage the Customer Success Manager and delivery teams on dependencies affecting sales.
  • Take accountability for account commercial health, qualify and close expansion opportunities through upselling and cross-selling, structure agreements, and lead the renewal process. Execute the 12-month renewal process and keep Customer Success informed.
  • Serve as the escalation point for commercial roadblocks; address purchasing, contractual, or budget obstacles through negotiation and problem-solving, partnering with the Customer Success Manager on customer success risks and Delivery on execution dependencies.
  • Identify budget, competitive, purchasing, and contractual risks; protect retention and growth through negotiation and problem-solving, escalating commercial decisions to Deal Desk and leadership as needed.
  • Prepare commercial proposals and draft order forms using approved templates when available; coordinate Legal review, Deal Desk and Finance approvals, pricing, negotiation, procurement, and signature; complete the commercial handoff of contracted scope, objectives, and commitments.

Desired Qualifications

  • An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
