- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least two years of experience working in a related industry is required.
- At least one year of supervisory experience is required.
- A valid driver's license is required, along with compliance with state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements.
- The ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals or communities and understand their unique needs and challenges is required.
- Openness to meeting the cultural needs of individuals or communities, including language, traditions, and values, is required.
- Successful participation in and completion of a three-part Therapeutic Crisis Intervention exam and training is required.
- Successful completion of a DHS criminal background check is required.
- Assist in developing program procedures and systems that support efficient, safe, and effective delivery of treatment services to clients and families.
- Participate as a multidisciplinary team member in developing and implementing client treatment plans and interventions.
- Identify and analyze potential or current program problems or risk factors and generate alternative solutions.
- Ensure new admissions enter a safe and welcoming environment and that the admission milieu needs of youth and families are met.
- Assist in planning and scheduling trauma-informed daily treatment services.
- Monitor treatment-service delivery for proper follow-through and ensure family inclusion and communication.
- Track youths' daily needs related to clothing, dietary needs, court, treatment-plan and referral-source meetings, family time, and contact.
- Interview and hire new youth care professional staff members.
- Provide on-the-job coaching, training, and mentoring to staff.
- Prepare assigned staff work schedules and approve staff timecards.
- Ensure staff perform their assigned duties and interact with clients in a calm, therapeutic, and trauma-informed manner.
- Coordinate and ensure completion of all shift-related client and staff documentation.
- Provide direct floor coverage during staff absences, emergencies, and on-call coverage as needed.
- An associate or bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a clinically related field is preferred.
- At least one year of experience working with clients and families is preferred.
Nexus Family Healing is a nonprofit provider of mental health and family support for children, young people, and caregivers. Its continuum includes foster care, outpatient and community mental health services, residential treatment, and family stabilization. Programs operate across communities in Minnesota, North Dakota, Illinois, and Maryland. The care model addresses behavioral health, trauma, family stability, and placement needs across residential and community settings, positioning Nexus within nonprofit child and family services rather than as a standalone residential-care operator. Programs also intersect with foster care, schools, child welfare, and juvenile justice systems.
