Nutanix founder's AI baby poaches HPE exec for next-gen CRM sales lead. Adnan Bhutta joins DevRev April 08, 2026 DevRev, the AI baby of Nutanix co-founder Dheeraj Pandey, poached a Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) alum as its go-to-market lead. Adnan Bhutta joins the firm after spending more than four-and-a-half years at HPE as sales VP for hybrid cloud software and AI-managed operations. Bhutta's remit will revolve around DevRev's flagship Computer product, an AI customer relationship management (CRM) tool that connects customer support tickets directly to product development workflows. In an interview with CRN, Bhutta said that with Computer working as an artificial teammate of sorts, the solution presented "an opportunity for the channel to help customers embrace AI." Bhutta joined HPE in 2021 as VP and GM for North America sales, progressing to storage and data revenue before moving on to the hybrid cloud and AI position. Prior to HPE, the exec spent more than 11 years at Dell Technologies, starting in 2010 as its director for North America sales, then becoming senior director for cloud networking. Bhutta would ultimately take on the role of VP and GM for Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) data center sales, based in London. The exec cut his teeth at Microsoft, having worked another decade-plus stint as a software engineer. In his new role, Bhutta joins a $1.15 billion unicorn. The firm was founded in 2020 by Pandey after leaving the CEO position at Nutanix. Joining him for the ride was another Nutanix alum, former senior engineering VP Manoj Agarwal. Bhutta is also the latest in a string of HPE departees, which has seen the networking giant mainly lose Juniper Networks talent such as VP for technical solutions architecture Pavan Kurapati; global partner and channel VP Gordon Mackintosh, who, as revealed by SDxCentral, joined Equinix in December; chief network strategist Neil McRae, who signed up to U.K. broadband firm CityFibre; and EMEA VP Gos Hein van de Wouw, now of Extreme Networks. Extreme Networks CFO Kevin Rhodes recently touted his firm's ability to attract HPE key executives and sales members, labelling defectors like van de Wouw as "rock stars."

DevRev ushers in the era of integrated conversational computing at Effortless 2025. November 03, 2025 at 09:00 AM EST Following its beta debut in September, DevRev showcases the evolution of Computer, the integrated AI teammate built to make work effortless, human, and connected DevRev, an AI-native enterprise software company focused on transforming how teams and customers collaborate, recently hosted Effortless 2025, an exclusive gathering of industry leaders to mark the next phase in the journey of Computer, the company's flagship conversational AI platform that redefines how humans and machines work together. The premiere event took place October 30 in New York City where attendees gained access to Q&A sessions with DevRev leadership and industry luminaries including DevRev investor and AI advocate, Vinod Khosla from Khosla Ventures, and Dev Ittycheria, President and CEO of MongoDB. Attendees also viewed live demos and learned how customers are deploying Computer within their enterprise. Computer launched in beta in September, introducing the world to a new kind of workplace companion, one that listens, understands, and acts. At Effortless, DevRev revealed three new capabilities and demonstrated a multiplayer conversational and collaborative AI vision for Computer, showing how it is redefining work for the conversational age of AI, one built around human agency. "Every new company is building an agent focused on a single use case," said Dheeraj Pandey, co-founder and CEO of DevRev. "The gotcha is that they're all trying to solve the prompt engineering problem, without thinking about measurability, extensibility, and collaboration between people and agents. Computer will be intrinsically extensible - with enterprise knowledge and skills - and multiplayer, so it doesn't feel artificial. Without solving for an integrated memory and skills experience, AI agents will remain as failed pilot projects, easy to demo and impossible to roll out at scale." Pandey described Computer as the third rebirth of human - machine interaction. The first was the desktop, which made computing personal. The second was mobile, which made it portable. The third is conversational, where people and machines collaborate naturally through dialogue rather than commands. Unlike traditional software that relies on clicks, pages, and menus, Computer understands context, remembers information, and reasons across an organization's data in real time. It's built on a unified data core, Computer Memory, that connects structured and unstructured information across systems like Salesforce, Jira, and Zendesk, forming the proprietary, permission-aware knowledge graph that makes real reasoning possible. "Every few decades, the way we interact with computers changes forever," said Pandey. "This is that moment. What do we know? We know that every company is swimming in data, tools, and notifications, yet people feel less connected, less creative, and less fulfilled. We believe that Computer is the first platform designed to work the way people think - conversationally. And it is here to make work effortless again." Unlike conventional AI assistants that serve individuals, Computer empowers teams. It connects people, products, and data through natural conversation, enabling what DevRev calls Team Intelligence, a shared layer of understanding that helps teams move in sync. What DevRev is bringing to life is the beginning of a more integrated world, one where technology doesn't replace people, but amplifies their collective intelligence. Whether surfacing lost documents, summarizing long threads, preparing meeting briefs, or automating tasks, Computer eliminates friction between teams and information. Through conversation, it can search, answer, analyze, and even perform actions, creating a collaborative intelligence that learns continuously from how teams work. According to Pandey, Computer is not here to automate humans out of the loop; instead, it puts them back at the center of all decision-making, supported by machines that truly understand their work. Computer is more than a product, it's a teammate. It listens, learns, and collaborates like a colleague, helping teams cut through tasks and focus on creativity, empathy, and decision-making. Unlike task-based bots or copilots, Computer works on a fully integrated data core, Computer Memory, enabling it to work as a real agent with true agency. Through this design Computer acts with context, functioning like a real teammate. With enterprise-grade security and permissions awareness baked in from the start, Computer Memory uses a data warehouse and graph database, as the core foundation for analysis and reporting; specialized storage for time-stamped and unstructured data, enabling deep search and trend monitoring; and powerful engines that can answer hard questions and automate processes. This allows Computer to move beyond search and automation into genuine understanding and reasoning, making every interaction smarter over time. At Effortless, DevRev showcased upcoming functionality that will make Computer the first multiplayer AI experience, with AI that is truly built for teams and deeply integrated with human workflows. The next phase of Computer's roadmap focuses on three leading capability extensions: * Text2SQL Answers - enabling Computer to reason directly over enterprise data and deliver accurate, context-aware analytical responses in natural language. * Human-in-the-Loop Actions - allowing people and AI to collaborate safely through supervised, trusted automation, both inside Computer and pushing to legacy systems. * Computer Agent Studio - giving enterprises the ability to build their own specialized agents, from customer experience to support, using Computer's shared data and reasoning core. Each advancement strengthens Computer's role as an integrated AI teammate, one designed not to replace, but to connect and amplify human potential. Effortless captured DevRev's broader mission to make technology invisible and collaboration intuitive. Pandey reminded the audience that work should not feel like a battle with tools. With Computer, conversation replaces complexity. It understands context, connects teams, and helps them move faster together. Early adopters describe Computer as the connective fabric uniting departments across companies, from product and engineering to customer success, sales, marketing, and more by transforming how companies respond to users and collaborate, and marking a new chapter for enterprise AI built on integration, connection, and shared intelligence. Founded in 2020 by Dheeraj Pandey and Manoj Agarwal, and backed by Khosla Ventures and Mayfield, DevRev is building a world where technology feels human again. Its technology has already been quietly transforming how enterprises organize, search, and collaborate, setting the stage for Computer's evolution. "I believe that the next revolution in software will be conversational and Computer represents that next step, turning AI from a task-doer into a true collaborator," said Vinod Khosla, Khosla Ventures. "Having backed Dheeraj before, I know his team builds for the long game and DevRev's vision for Computer is exactly what this moment in AI demands, which is simplicity, reasoning, and human connection at scale." As Computer expands beyond beta, DevRev invites early adopters to experience the power of conversation-driven work, where every question, decision, and insight flows naturally. Pandey called it "the beginning of something more natural, intelligent, and human." About DevRev DevRev is redefining enterprise software with AI-native solutions that unify siloed data and transform how teams and customers collaborate. Its patented technology takes structured and unstructured data from existing tools like Salesforce, Jira, and Zendesk, organizing it into a knowledge graph that powers conversational enterprise AI. With DevRev, businesses get precise answers, real-time analytics, and automated workflows to unlock unrealized value. Founded in 2020 and backed by Khosla Ventures and Mayfield, DevRev is led by co-founder and CEO Dheeraj Pandey, former co-founder and CEO of Nutanix [NASDAQ: NTNX] and an Adobe [NASDAQ: ADBE] board member, alongside co-founder Manoj Agarwal, former SVP of Engineering at Nutanix.
