About the company

Reddit runs a website and mobile app where people discuss interests, ask questions, share links, and post photos or videos. Its user-created communities, called subreddits, cover topics from news and entertainment to hobbies, local recommendations, and technical help. People reply in comment threads and vote posts or comments up or down, affecting which discussions appear prominently in each community and on their feeds. Reddit earns most of its revenue from advertising, while its Reddit Pro tools help businesses and publishers share content and track conversations about their brands. Reddit was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in San Francisco, California.

What believers are saying

  • Growth supports product investment: Reddit reported $805 million revenue, up 61% yearly, in July 2026.
  • Remote options span engineering teams: Reddit lists US roles in ads, safety, and storage as remote.
  • Niche conversations create ad audiences: Reddit lets advertisers target people who engage with specific subreddit communities.

What critics are saying

  • Revenue depends on advertisers: Ads generated about 95% of Reddit's revenue in its June 2026 quarter.
  • Google controls a traffic funnel: Reddit relies partly on search referrals, while AI answers compete with direct visits.
  • Employee shares carry limited influence: Reddit's CEO controlled 76.1% of votes in March 2026, mostly through proxies.

What makes Reddit unique

  • Community rules come from users: Reddit's unpaid moderators decide which posts belong and enforce each subreddit's standards.
  • Names stay optional: Reddit lets users participate through usernames and avatars without publishing their real identity.
  • Conversations sell beyond its own app: Reddit licenses structured post and comment feeds to Google and OpenAI.

Master Reddit & Instagram strategies: tools, tactics, and trends for 2024.

Master Reddit & Instagram strategies: tools, tactics, and trends for 2024. 20 Oct 2026 In today's fast-moving social media landscape, marketers can no longer rely on a single platform to drive growth. While TikTok and LinkedIn dominate headlines, Reddit and Instagram continue to deliver high-value traffic for brands that know how to use them strategically. This article breaks down proven Reddit tactics, essential Instagram tools, and the most relevant industry updates, giving you a playbook you can apply immediately to improve reach, engagement, and return on investment. Reddit's community-first architecture rewards authentic participation. Brands should start by identifying subreddits that align with their niche, then contribute genuine value - answering questions, sharing insights, and participating in discussions without overt promotion. Hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) with a company leader can generate buzz and position the brand as an authority. Monitoring up-votes, comment sentiment, and emerging topics provides real-time market intelligence that can shape product messaging and content calendars. Paid options on Reddit have matured, offering granular targeting based on interests, communities, and even specific subreddit memberships. Sponsored posts appear directly in users' feeds, blending with organic content and often achieving higher click-through rates than traditional display ads. To maximize ROI, start with a modest test budget, use A/B testing on headlines and creative, and track conversions through Reddit's pixel or UTM parameters. Regularly review cost-per-acquisition metrics and adjust bids according to the community's engagement patterns. Instagram remains a visual powerhouse, and a growing ecosystem of third-party tools helps marketers extract more value from the platform. Scheduling solutions such as Later, Buffer, or Meta's own Creator Studio enable consistent posting across feed, Stories, and Reels, while advanced analytics dashboards reveal the best publishing times and content formats for each audience segment. Shopping tags, Instagram Checkout, and the new Remix feature turn the platform into a direct-to-consumer sales channel, especially when paired with shoppable stickers in Stories. The real advantage comes from linking Reddit insights to Instagram execution. For example, a brand that discovers a recurring pain point in a tech-focused subreddit can craft an Instagram carousel that addresses that issue, using the same language that resonated on Reddit. Cross-posting snippets of high-performing Reddit discussions as Instagram Stories, with proper attribution, encourages followers to join the conversation on both platforms, amplifying reach and fostering a community that feels heard. Industry news this quarter underscores the importance of adaptability. Instagram's algorithm now prioritizes "meaningful interactions," rewarding content that sparks comments and saves over pure impressions. Meanwhile, Reddit has introduced a new "Community Boost" program that gives moderators tools to promote high-quality threads, potentially increasing organic visibility for brand-aligned discussions. Privacy-focused updates across both platforms also mean marketers must be diligent about data consent and transparent reporting. To translate these insights into action, start with a three-step checklist: (1) Map relevant subreddits and set up listening alerts; (2) Choose an Instagram tool stack that aligns with your creative workflow; (3) Pilot a coordinated campaign - run a Reddit AMA, capture the key takeaways, and repurpose them into Instagram Reels and carousel posts. Measure success using a blended KPI framework that includes engagement rate, traffic to owned sites, and conversion value. By treating Reddit and Instagram as complementary channels rather than isolated silos, brands can unlock a richer, more engaged audience and drive sustainable growth.

Reddit trades at 34.5x earnings versus Meta's 26.5x, but margins lag as growth hits 66.6%

Reddit (RDDT) trades at a higher price-to-earnings ratio than Meta Platforms, Alphabet, or Match: 34.5 times earnings versus 26.5 for Meta. Pinterest's ratio is not comparable because it lost money in two of its last four quarters. The premium reflects growth. Reddit's revenue rose 66.6% over the four quarters to June 30, 2026, against 27.7% for Meta. Its operating margin of 28.2% trails Meta's 38.1%, though it was just 7.9% a year earlier. Ad revenue reached $762 million in the second quarter, up 64%, and active advertisers grew by more than 70%. Reddit expects third-quarter revenue of $860 million to $870 million, or 47% to 49% growth. Its shares fell 22.2% in the year to October 16, 2026. Reddit reports on or around November 4.

Copley appoints former Toast executive Lou Orfanos CEO to expand AI marketing platform.

Copley appoints former Toast executive Lou Orfanos CEO to expand AI marketing platform. October 15, 2026 Lou Orfanos Boston-based Copley, an artificial intelligence marketing software company founded by former Klaviyo and Salesforce operators, has appointed Lou Orfanos as Chief Executive Officer as it expands from AI-powered advertising content creation into a broader platform for managing business-to-business demand generation campaigns. Orfanos, a former senior executive at Toast and HubSpot, succeeds co-founder David Henriquez, who will transition to Chief Product Officer. Henriquez will focus on product development and customer relationships while Orfanos leads the company's next stage of commercial expansion. The leadership change coincides with Copley's introduction of what it calls Demand Engineering, an approach that uses AI agents to coordinate campaign planning, audience targeting, creative development, advertising execution and performance optimization within a single platform. The strategy positions Copley in the growing market for AI-powered marketing automation, where software companies are moving beyond tools that generate individual advertisements or marketing assets toward systems capable of managing more of the campaign lifecycle. Orfanos most recently served as Senior Vice President and General Manager at Toast, where he led the company's core restaurant and commerce business. Previously, he was General Manager and Vice President of Product at HubSpot, overseeing products across sales, customer service and commerce. His earlier experience includes positions at LogMeIn, Localytics and Monitor Group. Orfanos has also served as an advisor to Copley for the past two years, working with the company as it developed AI-powered content generation and optimization capabilities for consumer e-commerce brands. That initial focus helped Copley develop Traits, its proprietary content labeling model, which analyzes creative attributes associated with advertising performance. The technology is designed to identify patterns in successful marketing content and use those signals to guide AI-generated creative. Copley is now extending those capabilities into B2B marketing, where campaigns often involve longer sales cycles, multiple decision-makers and a need to connect advertising activity with actual revenue. "I've watched the team build toward this moment and leading Copley now is an opportunity I couldn't pass up," Orfanos said. He compared the company's approach to the emergence of specialized engineering functions in sales and AI software deployment, arguing that marketing teams increasingly need technical systems capable of executing complex campaigns with fewer resources. Copley's platform is designed to consolidate functions that traditionally require separate software tools and marketing specialists. Users establish campaign objectives, select target customer personas and determine the concepts they want to pursue. AI agents then support audience recommendations, advertising creative, campaign launches and ongoing performance optimization. The company says marketers retain control over strategy and must approve campaign materials before they are published. This human-supervised approach is intended to combine automated execution with oversight of messaging, targeting and brand decisions. Copley lists integrations with advertising and digital platforms including Meta, Google, ChatGPT, LinkedIn, Reddit and X. It also connects with HubSpot and Salesforce to associate advertising creative with sales opportunities and closed-won deals. Those customer relationship management integrations are central to the company's market positioning. Rather than measuring advertising effectiveness only through clicks, impressions or lead generation, Copley aims to help businesses evaluate which campaigns contribute to completed sales. For B2B companies, that distinction matters because marketing campaigns may generate initial interest long before a customer signs a contract. Connecting campaign activity with sales outcomes can help teams allocate advertising budgets and refine their messaging. Copley is targeting startups, smaller marketing teams and agencies that want to manage sophisticated demand generation programs without building large internal organizations. The company cited Accel Health as an example of its platform's commercial application. Chathri Ali, CEO of Accel Health, said the company used Copley to develop a new marketing initiative that generated seven figures in annual recurring revenue within six months. Ali attributed 98.5% of that revenue to campaigns supported by Copley, according to the company's announcement. "Our team set the strategy and approved every ad. Copley's agents did the rest, and showed us exactly which creative was turning into closed deals," Ali said. The customer-reported results provide an example of Copley's intended use, although the company did not disclose broader customer performance data or comparative results. Henriquez said the platform is designed to learn from campaign performance and adjust its recommendations over time, allowing marketers to refine targeting and creative decisions using accumulated results. "The best demand gen leaders already think like engineers, but haven't had a system built for their entire workflow until now," Henriquez said. His transition to Chief Product Officer keeps a co-founder responsible for the platform's technical direction while adding an executive with experience managing established software businesses. For Copley, the appointment signals a shift from developing AI creative tools toward commercializing a more comprehensive marketing execution platform. The company is betting that businesses will increasingly seek integrated systems that connect advertising creation, campaign management and revenue measurement rather than relying on disconnected applications. With Orfanos as CEO and Henriquez leading product development, Copley is positioning its Demand Engineering platform for broader adoption among B2B companies seeking to automate campaign execution while retaining human control over marketing strategy.

Xbox expands movie, TV ambitions with new division.

Xbox expands movie, TV ambitions with new division. The new division, called XP, will grow Xbox's footprint in film, TV, products, events and theme parks. Published Oct 09, 2026, 08:47 AM Updated Oct 09, 2026, 09:41 AM NEW YORK - Microsoft's Xbox unit is formalising its film and TV foray with a new division focused on expanding the video-game giant's franchises into other media. The entertainment division called XP will grow Xbox's footprint in film, TV, products, events and theme parks, Microsoft said in a statement on Oct 8. "Fans don't just play our franchises. They watch them, wear them, attend them, celebrate them and connect with them in countless ways," Kayleen Walters, the group's new president, wrote in an e-mail to her new team, Microsoft said. Walters, who was president of Microsoft's Minecraft unit Mojang, previously worked at Star Wars steward Lucasfilm for 13 years, including as a vice-president of franchise marketing. She was an executive producer on the Minecraft movie, which set box office records and earned US$157 million (S$201 million) its first weekend. Its sequel is in production. Microsoft also on Oct 8 named a new head for Mojang. Maria Angelidou-Smith, who previously worked for social media platform Reddit and tech company Meta Platforms, will become the unit's chief executive in October. A Minecraft theme park is set to open in London in 2027. Although not a social network like those two companies, Minecraft does let people express themselves, crafting items in the game. Tens of millions of people play Minecraft every day. It has sold more than 300 million copies. Microsoft's ambitions in entertainment remain strong, after mass layoffs and studio spin-outs to sharpen the focus of its gaming arm. Xbox's Fallout TV show (2024 to present) has seen major success. Amazon.com's Prime Video, where the show airs, reported that 100 million people watched at least a little of the series, which was just renewed for a third season.
