Sophon will shut down its network entirely on November 30 - assets must be withdrawn by November 25.

Sophon will shut down its network entirely on November 30 - assets must be withdrawn by November 25. 21 Oct, 2026 byDropsTab Join Its Socials Withdraw assets (SOPH, ETH, USDC, and others) and claim rewards from staking and Guardian nodes by November 25. After that, infrastructure and websites will begin shutting down, and any remaining funds may become permanently inaccessible. Sophon is a zkSync L2 whose shutdown was announced in June; the project is shifting to consumer apps on Base. Visa is in talks to acquire Fireblocks for about $2.5 billion. 22 Oct, 2026 byDropsTab Join Its Socials According to Axios, the talks are at an advanced stage. Fireblocks builds infrastructure for storing and transferring stablecoins and other digital assets, used by banks, exchanges and financial companies. For Visa, this would be its first acquisition in the stablecoin sector. The deal has not been signed, and its terms have not been disclosed. Bybit announces it has obtained a VARA license for exchange services in dubai. 22 Oct, 2026 byDropsTab Join Its Socials Bybit Fintech FZE, a Bybit subsidiary, has received a VASP license from regulator VARA for exchange services that include spot trading. Derivatives are not covered: Bybit hopes to add them later, subject to approval. The release does not specify when the services will launch. The Starknet (STRK) community supports the transition to an independent quantum-resistant L1 blockchain. 22 Oct, 2026 byDropsTab Join Its Socials More than 93.5% of votes in a preliminary vote were cast in favor of exploring the possibility of Starknet moving from an Ethereum L2 network to an independent L1 blockchain. More than 2,800 wallets participated in the vote. StarkWare and the Starknet Foundation will begin researching the transition. A draft white paper is expected to be published in November, after which the community will hold additional votes. The main reason behind the initiative is the quantum threat. Starknet's security currently depends in part on Ethereum, which plans to become quantum-resistant by 2029. StarkWare CEO Eli Ben-Sasson considers this timeline too late and intends to make Starknet quantum-resistant as early as 2027. STRK will remain the network's native token, and no new token issuance is planned. Bridges with Ethereum will continue to operate. China intends to confiscate 61,800 BTC in a $5.7 billion fraud case. 22 Oct, 2026 byDropsTab Join Its Socials Chinese prosecutors are seeking to confiscate more than 61,800 BTC and other assets linked to one of the country's largest Ponzi schemes. According to investigators, from 2014 to 2017, Tianjin Lantian Gree raised more than $5.7 billion from 102,000 investors, promising high returns and the protection of their investments. Victims' losses totaled about $2.8 billion. Some of the funds were used to pay earlier investors and to buy BTC, real estate and luxury goods. The scheme's organizer, Qian Zhimin, fled to the UK, where authorities later seized more than 61,800 BTC and other assets. On October 13, a Chinese court agreed to consider the prosecution's request to confiscate the assets. Meanwhile, the UK High Court recently ruled that the victims' rights to the seized BTC should be determined under Chinese law. Aerodrome and Velodrome have merged to form Aero: the new exchange is live on seven networks. 21 Oct, 2026 byDropsTab Join Its Socials Two major decentralized exchanges, Aerodrome on Base and Velodrome on OP Mainnet, have merged into a single exchange, Aero. It has launched on Ethereum, Base, Robinhood Chain, Ink, OP Mainnet, Arc and Arbitrum, which together see around $120 billion in DEX trading volume per month. In the third quarter, Aerodrome accounted for 58% of DEX volume on Base, while Velodrome accounted for 60% on OP Mainnet. The legacy AERO and VELO tokens are being converted into the new AERO, while veAERO and veVELO are becoming sAERO. sAERO holders will be able to direct liquidity rewards to the markets they believe will generate higher returns, and 100% of the exchange's revenue will go to AERO stakers. Aero is also launching Metaswaps for cross-chain trading and Slipstream V3, with dynamic fees that rise when the market moves quickly. The conversion is manual: AERO is exchanged at a 1:1 ratio, while VELO converts at approximately 0.044 AERO. To do this, users need to use the portals at aerodrome.finance and velodrome.finance; the new token's address is published in the project's official channels. Fireblocks launches Liquidity Market for stablecoin trading.

Fireblocks launches Liquidity Market for stablecoin trading. B2C2 and Zodia Markets are providing liquidity at launch, with six additional trading firms expected to join. Get the hottest Fintech Singapore News once a month in your Inbox Fireblocks has launched a trading platform that allows payments companies to compare stablecoin prices from multiple liquidity providers in one place. Fireblocks Liquidity Market enables customers to request quotes from different over-the-counter (OTC) trading desks and execute transactions under existing trading and settlement arrangements. MoneyGram, OpenPayd, Reap, TapTapSend and Zepz have joined as design partners. B2C2 and Zodia Markets are available as liquidity providers, with Cumberland, FalconX, GSR, Hercle, Nonco and Wintermute expected to follow. OTC and trading firms transferred nearly US$50 billion in stablecoins to payments companies and financial institutions through the Fireblocks Network over the past 12 months. However, sourcing liquidity still requires businesses to deal with trading desks individually. "Payments companies already hold their stablecoin treasury on Fireblocks, and most of the desks they trade with do too. The one step still happening outside the platform was the price discovery itself, and execution, negotiated desk by desk over chat and email. Bringing it inside means the desks they trust can all bid for every trade, under the same controls and policies that govern the rest of their treasury." said Ran Goldi, Chief Payments & Network Officer at Fireblocks. The platform consolidates credit information and balances while enforcing trading limits and approvals through Fireblocks' Policy Engine. Fireblocks does not charge a spread or take custody during conversion. Customers settle transactions directly with liquidity providers. Liquidity Market is available to Fireblocks customers and supports major stablecoins against the US dollar, euro, British pound and other G10 currencies. Euronet and Fireblocks launch stablecoin-funded card issuing for banks and fintechs

Euronet and Fireblocks have expanded their partnership to let banks, fintechs and other financial institutions launch stablecoin-funded card programs on Euronet's Ren and CoreCard issuing platforms. Fireblocks supplies the embedded wallets that hold and move the stablecoin balances. Each cardholder gets a wallet at onboarding, and fiat deposits convert to stablecoin before they are credited. Merchants still receive local currency. Euronet plans to offer the service as a white-label product that clients can embed in their own banking or wallet apps. The companies began working together in October 2025 on partner settlement and pre-funding. Demand is growing: more than 160 stablecoin-linked card programs were live on the Visa network in its fiscal second quarter of 2026, with payment volume up nearly 200% year over year.

Euronet and Fireblocks team on stablecoin-funded card issuing.

Euronet and Fireblocks team on stablecoin-funded card issuing. Euronet and Fireblocks launch a new stablecoin-funded card solution, simplifying how consumers spend digital assets at the point of sale. Curated by Financing Your Way from original reporting by Finextra - Lending. Summary is AI-assisted and editorially reviewed - see its editorial standards. This partnership between Euronet and Fireblocks introduces a way for businesses to issue payment cards funded by stablecoins (digital assets pegged to a currency like the US Dollar). For retailers and operators, this means the infrastructure for 'crypto-to-fiat' spending is becoming more mainstream and accessible. Instead of waiting for traditional bank transfers or dealing with volatile assets, this technology allows customers to spend their digital holdings directly at the point of sale just like a traditional debit or credit card. For your business, this signals a shift in how consumers may want to access their liquidity. While it feels like a niche financial product now, the backend integration provided by Euronet simplifies the process for merchants to accept these funds without needing to manage the underlying blockchain technology themselves. As consumer interest in digital assets persists, having a payment ecosystem that bridges the gap between digital wallets and traditional merchant terminals becomes a competitive advantage. It offers a glimpse into a future where 'financing' your purchases might involve drawing from a digital asset pool rather than a traditional line of credit. Who else is covering this

Fireblocks launches stablecoin liquidity market with multi-desk OTC quotes for payments firms

Fireblocks has launched Liquidity Market, a trading environment that lets payments companies and other businesses compare stablecoin quotes from multiple over-the-counter (OTC) desks and trade without leaving the platform. Fireblocks says it takes no spread. MoneyGram, OpenPayd, Reap, TapTapSend, and Zepz are design partners. B2C2 and Zodia Markets are live as liquidity providers, with Cumberland, FalconX, GSR, Hercle, Nonco, and Wintermute to follow. Over the past 12 months, OTC and trading firms moved nearly $50 billion in stablecoins to payments companies, fintechs, and banks across the Fireblocks Network. Sourcing that liquidity is still largely manual, handled desk by desk. Customers keep their existing credit and settlement terms, and settle directly with the provider. Liquidity Market is available now to Fireblocks customers globally.
