Salesforce is eliminating 74 positions at its San Francisco headquarters on 5 October, marking the company's fourth round of layoffs in less than a year. The cuts affect 37 technology and product roles, 34 administrative positions and three sales jobs at the 415 Mission Street office. The redundancies follow previous rounds that eliminated 262 jobs in September 2025, hundreds in February and 86 in June. The company has been implementing AI throughout its operations whilst promoting artificial intelligence as its primary growth strategy. For the quarter ending 30 April, Salesforce reported $11.1 billion in revenue alongside $80 million in restructuring expenses. The company has not disclosed whether additional layoffs will occur at other locations or specified which teams are affected by the latest cuts.
Tech analyst Dan Ives described the recent software stock sell-off as the most disconnected from business fundamentals since the late 1990s, despite fears of AI competition. Microsoft, Salesforce, and ServiceNow have underperformed the broader market this year, with declines of up to 29%. Recent earnings support Ives' bullish stance. Microsoft reported 18% year-over-year revenue growth, with paid Microsoft 365 Copilot seats exceeding 30 million. ServiceNow's subscription revenue grew 23% in constant currency, closing 123 deals over $1 million. Salesforce beat analyst estimates with 14% revenue growth and signed a record 98 deals worth over $1 million in new annual contract value. The results suggest customers are turning to established software providers for AI integration and security, validating these companies' central role in AI infrastructure.
Salesforce announced that the Department of War can now use Agentforce 360 through Missionforce National Security, following Impact Level 5 authorisation. The platform combines real-time data harmonisation with autonomous AI to support sensitive, unclassified missions. Missionforce National Security is expanding across the Intelligence Community. The platform enables agencies to build solutions in unclassified environments and deploy them to the Top Secret Network. Agentforce 360 delivers AI agents, data interoperability, and decision intelligence tools. The platform runs on Amazon Web Services GovCloud, operated exclusively by US personnel. Applications include modernising logistics, improving warfighter support, addressing recruiting deficits, and advancing command decision-making. AI agents can autonomously manage workflows whilst maintaining compliance and auditability requirements.
Paris-based Shiplog raises over €807.6K to build agentic customer intelligence for personalisation at scale. August 4, 2026 Shiplog, a Paris-based startup building agentic customer intelligence for personalisation at scale, has raised over €807.6k ($930k) in pre-Seed funding to build what it believes will become the intelligence layer behind every customer interaction on the internet. The round was backed by Kima Ventures and Project Europe, alongside Purple, No Label Ventures, 100IN and Station F Fund. "We believe every piece of software that interacts with customers will eventually become adaptive, reasoning about each person in real time instead of relying on static rules. Every customer should experience a different version of the same product, marketing campaign and customer journey. That is the future we are building towards," said Mehdi Gribaa, co-founder and CTO. Founded in 2026 by Khushi Mehta and Mehdi Gribaa, Shiplog has built Ada, an AI agent that evaluates every customer individually, decides the next best action across the full lifecycle, and acts in real time. According to the company, the way companies understand and act on their customers- the tools sold today as customer data platforms (CDPs), customer success software, personalisation engines and marketing automation- was built for a world that no longer exists. It notes that with AI compressing software development and pricing collapsing from per-seat subscriptions into usage-based models, customers have stopped behaving like predictable cohorts and started behaving like individuals. It highlights that most companies still read them through segments drawn up weeks or months earlier, and act through tools that either display a dashboard or fire a rule written for the average. Shiplog opines that the entire operating model is about to be rewritten, and it wants to be the company that rewrites it. The company states that instead of dropping customers into fixed buckets or surfacing a health score for a human to interpret, Ada continuously updates each customer's profile as behaviour changes and personalises everything downstream. This includes marketing campaigns, product interfaces, onboarding flows, recommendations, support, lifecycle communications, and the judgement calls that customer success and account teams make by hand today. Every interaction adapts to the person, not the average. Shiplog calls the result a live "segment of one". Shiplog sits above the existing stack, plugging into Salesforce, HubSpot, Snowflake, Shopify, Stripe and other customer platforms. Ada connects to them, builds a live customer profile, and decides what happens next. According to the founders, customer data platforms assemble the record, and customer success platforms score it and hand it to a human, while personalisation and marketing automation tools fire predefined workflows written for segments. None of them makes the decision. Shiplog claims that it is designed to make the decision itself, and to keep making it as behaviour shifts. The company isn't trying to build another point tool for one team. It thinks AI can collapse customer intelligence, customer success and personalisation into a single reasoning layer, and replace the segment as the operating model for GTM teams. "Engineering industrialised and pricing individualised, but marketing got left in the middle. Every customer now behaves differently, yet most are still treated as part of a segment. The data to personalise every customer already exists. Ada is the infrastructure that acts on it," said Khushi Mehta, co-founder and CEO of Shiplog. The company is starting in FinTech, cybersecurity, software, and consumer sectors, as these are the areas where behaviour changes quickly, customer volume is too high to manage manually, churn is costly, and personalised engagement drives growth and retention. Shiplog is based at Station F in Paris and backed by Kima Ventures, Project Europe, Purple, No Label Ventures, 100IN and Station F Fund alongside angels. It is rolling out its first partner pilots, expanding integrations and growing its engineering team in Paris. The company's long-term goal is to become the intelligence layer behind every customer interaction, so that any application can personalise itself continuously.
Mosaic AI launches Agentforce competitor for B2B support operations. Erik Wiltjer Founder, Cold Sun Enterprise Mosaic AI has entered the competitive market for enterprise support automation by launching a new platform positioned as an alternative to Salesforce's Agentforce offering. The move targets B2B support teams seeking different solutions for managing customer interactions and support operations. The platform represents Mosaic AI's expansion into the agent automation space, where Salesforce has made significant investments with Agentforce. By positioning their solution as an alternative, Mosaic AI is appealing to organizations that may be evaluating multiple options or seeking different approaches to AI-powered support automation. This development reflects the growing demand for AI-driven support solutions in the B2B sector, where companies increasingly seek to automate routine inquiries, improve response times, and reduce operational costs. The competitive landscape in this space has intensified as major technology vendors and specialized AI companies vie for market share. Mosaic AI's entry into this market adds another option for enterprises considering support automation investments. The timing suggests the company sees opportunity in organizations that may not be fully committed to Salesforce's ecosystem or are exploring multiple vendor solutions before making long-term commitments. The specific features, pricing, and capabilities of Mosaic AI's platform relative to Agentforce remain to be detailed, but the launch signals continued innovation in AI-powered customer support technology. As B2B companies prioritize efficiency and customer experience, competition among support automation vendors is likely to intensify, potentially benefiting enterprises with more choices and competitive pricing.
