About the job

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Expert proficiency in modern C++ (C++17/20/23), multithreading, multi-platform build systems such as CMake, and dependency management with Conan or vcpkg.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, cross-platform development on Linux and Windows, inter-process communication, and adoption of generative AI and agentic AI tools in the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with software testing strategies such as GTest and advanced native-code debugging tools such as gdb, valgrind, and sanitizers across operating systems.
  • Ability to evaluate and integrate new technologies into existing solutions, with exposure to machine vision libraries, native-to-scripting bridges such as Node.js N-API, or networking and inter-process communication frameworks such as DBus, ZeroMQ, or Boost.
  • Ability to optimize concurrent software and navigate multithreading portability issues on target hardware.
  • Proficiency with version control systems including Git and GitHub, and familiarity with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a performance-sensitive environment.
Responsibilities
  • Establish requirements and prioritize features for moderately complex, cross-platform native software projects, including the on-device runtime engine and vision tools integration library.
  • Complete all phases of software design and development, turning core algorithms into high-performance, product-ready tools using modern C++ (C++23).
  • Lead and participate in code reviews, applying code-quality expectations including zero warnings, clang-tidy, clang-format, and SonarQube.
  • Use and mentor others on agentic AI programming tools, such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot, to accelerate coding and improve software implementations.
  • Review and refine software designs, optimizing real-time image-processing pipelines and inter-process communication running on resource-constrained smart-camera hardware.
  • Develop tests and create comprehensive documentation to deliver a high-quality product.
  • Recommend solutions to technical problems across application architecture, hardware boundaries, and machine vision.
  • Develop custom tools or scripts, such as CMake and Python, to streamline cross-compilation, analysis, debugging, or automated testing processes.
  • Select methods and techniques to solve complex problems, working with minimal supervision and general guidance on new assignments.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior-level personnel.
  • Network with senior internal and external personnel in the area of expertise and maintain frequent inter-organizational and external customer contacts.
Desired Qualifications
  • Five or more years of preferred work experience.
  • Exposure to machine vision libraries, native-to-scripting bridges such as Node.js N-API, or networking and inter-process communication frameworks such as DBus, ZeroMQ, or Boost.
