Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or site reliability engineering, with hands-on ownership of production systems.
  • Production Linux server administration, including building, hardening, patching, and troubleshooting on physical hardware and in the cloud; Ubuntu is preferred.
  • Live-environment AWS administration, including IAM, VPC networking, S3, and CloudTrail configuration and operation.
  • Experience using infrastructure as code or configuration management to manage real systems, including Terraform and at least one of Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • macOS fleet management with Jamf or a comparable mobile device management platform, including enrollment, configuration profiles, and packaging.
  • Identity provider administration with Okta or a comparable identity provider, including SAML/SCIM app integrations and MFA policy.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for on-site data center work in the Los Angeles or Las Vegas area.
Responsibilities
  • Keep IT-critical services available and reliable by owning monitoring, incident response, and automation that prevents recurring alerts.
  • Deploy, harden, and troubleshoot the full technology estate, including Mac workstations through Jamf, Ubuntu servers on Dell hardware and in AWS, Fortigate and Meraki networking, and physical access systems.
  • Secure and integrate the company’s SaaS stack, including Okta, Google Workspace, Duo, Jamf, and Sophos, and automate configuration wherever possible.
  • Expand the operations AWS environment in Terraform, patterned on production, so systems are documented, reproducible, and reviewed like code.
  • Build and operate pipelines that bring MySQL, Salesforce, and spreadsheet data into a warehouse, and establish the infrastructure for a data platform.
  • Handle security and PCI compliance as engineering work, including patch management, host hardening, vulnerability scanning, log review, and audit evidence for assessment.
  • Lead migrations, including Ubuntu upgrades, virtual machines to containers, and Puppet to OpenVox.
  • Handle overflow help desk tickets in Jira Service Management and produce documentation for future engineers.
Desired Qualifications
  • Located within 250 miles of Los Angeles or Las Vegas.
  • Experience in a PCI DSS, SOC 2, or similarly audited environment.
  • Fortigate, Meraki, or comparable firewall and switching administration experience.
  • AWS, Jamf, Terraform, or Security+ certifications.
