Progyny (PGNY) ranks no. 7 among analyst picks with strong stock buybacks.

Progyny (PGNY) ranks no. 7 among analyst picks with strong stock buybacks. By Joel Kornblau, Editor, The Online Investor, Friday, October 30, 2026, 2:22 PM ET Progyny Inc. (PGNY) ranks seventh in a The Online Investor screen combining strong stock buyback activity with favorable brokerage analyst recommendations. To qualify, a company must have repurchased shares equal to at least 5% of its outstanding shares over the trailing 12 months. Qualifying stocks are then ranked by their average analyst recommendation. What the buyback screen shows. The screen identifies companies with substantial recent repurchases that also receive relatively favorable analyst ratings. Those two signals measure different things: repurchases reflect a capital allocation decision, while analyst recommendations reflect external assessments of a company's prospects and valuation. Their alignment can warrant closer examination, but it does not establish that a stock is undervalued. Buybacks can reduce the number of shares outstanding, allowing a given amount of earnings to be spread across fewer shares and potentially raising earnings per share. The effect depends on the net change in share count: shares issued through employee compensation or other transactions can offset repurchases. The price paid for shares and the use of cash that might otherwise fund operations, investment or debt reduction also matter. For Progyny, the key questions are whether repurchases produce a sustained decline in diluted shares outstanding and whether the company can maintain its operating performance while funding them. A trailing 12-month repurchase threshold establishes the scale of recent activity, not its future pace or economic return. Putting Progyny's ranking in context. Progyny provides fertility and family-building benefits services. Its business differs materially from those of hospital operator HCA Healthcare Inc. (HCA) and managed-care company Centene Corp. (CNC). The three-month price chart below compares their stock performance, but differences in their business models limit what a direct valuation comparison would show. Progyny's seventh-place ranking highlights the combination of its recent repurchase activity and analyst support. Assessing the significance of that combination requires looking beyond the rank to net share-count changes, the company's operating results and the value obtained for each dollar spent on repurchases. How to read broker darling screens and IPO and secondary context. Broker darling stories highlight stocks that analysts currently favor within a large-cap or dividend-oriented screen. IPO and secondary offering stories can affect supply, dilution, liquidity, and investor expectations. The signal is most useful when analyst support is reviewed with valuation, earnings expectations, dividend quality, and business fundamentals. Investors should treat the ipo and secondary context angle as context rather than a standalone signal.

APA stands out among cash-rich stocks, while Progyny and Goodyear look risky

StockStory has picked one cash-producing stock to buy and two to sell, arguing that strong cash flow means little if a company fails to put it to work. The buy is APA Corporation, an oil and gas producer with a trailing 12-month free cash flow margin of 23.7%. Revenue is $8.37 billion, and it has grown 4.9% a year over the last decade. Gross margin is 67.7%. The shares trade at $50.51, or 8.3x forward P/E. The sells are Progyny and Goodyear. Progyny has a 13.6% free cash flow margin and $1.31 billion in revenue, but weak unit sales and flat adjusted operating margin. Its shares trade at $27.77, or 12.9x forward P/E. Goodyear's margin is 1.1%. Sales have fallen 4.5% a year over two years, and new share issuance cut earnings per share by 17.7% a year over five. Its shares trade at $4.41.

New progyny study examines persistent racial and Ethnic differences in fertility treatment initiation despite access to benefits.

New progyny study examines persistent racial and Ethnic differences in fertility treatment initiation despite access to benefits. Published on 10/28/2026 at 09:52 am EDT GlobeNewswire Research presented at ASRM 2026 Scientific Congress & Expo highlights the importance of early engagement and personalized support in helping patients navigate fertility care NEW YORK, Oct. 28, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Progyny, Inc. (Nasdaq: PGNY), a global leader in women's health and family building solutions, today announced findings from new research presented at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) 2026 Scientific Congress & Expo, revealing that racial and ethnic disparities in fertility treatment initiation persist even among patients with access to fertility benefits. However, the time from initial consultation to the start of a treatment cycle resulting in pregnancy was largely comparable across racial and ethnic groups, highlighting the importance of better understanding the clinical, personal, and other factors that influence treatment decisions. The study, "Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Initiation of Treatment Within a Fertility Benefit Program," examined 12,516 patients who accessed fertility benefits between 2024 and 2025 to better understand how race and ethnicity may influence treatment initiation, time to care, treatment selection, and time to pregnancy. Key findings from the research include: * Disparities persist despite access to benefits. African American/Black, Asian/Pacific Islander, and Other/Mixed race and ethnicity patients had treatment initiation rates approximately 10%, 19%, and 11% lower, respectively, than White patients, despite access to fertility benefits. * Some patients experienced longer delays in starting treatment. African American/Black patients waited an average of 136 days between their initial fertility consultation and treatment initiation, while patients identifying as Other/Mixed race and ethnicity waited 144 days, compared to 127 days for White patients. This represents an additional 9 and 17 days, respectively. * Timing of treatment cycles resulting in pregnancy was largely comparable. The time from initial consultation to the start of a treatment cycle resulting in pregnancy ranged from 180 to 190 days across racial and ethnic groups, with relatively modest differences observed between groups. * Treatment pathways also varied. Asian/Pacific Islander patients had 23% higher adjusted odds of initiating intrauterine insemination (IUI) and 15% lower adjusted odds of initiating in vitro fertilization (IVF) compared to White patients. While IVF generally offers higher success rates per treatment cycle than IUI, the most appropriate treatment depends on each patient's unique clinical circumstances. These findings highlight the importance of understanding differences in treatment selection and ensuring patients have the guidance needed to make informed decisions about their care. "Expanding access to fertility benefits is an important step toward making care more equitable, but this research reminds us that coverage alone does not eliminate every barrier patients may face," said Janet Choi, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Progyny. "What stands out is that once patients engage in treatment, time to pregnancy is largely similar across groups. That reinforces the need to look more closely at the barriers that may inhibit certain patient populations from pursuing appropriate clinical evaluations as well as what obstacles may delay certain patient populations from proceeding to timely, indicated treatments even when they have access to comprehensive fertility benefits." As Progyny marks its 10th anniversary, the findings reinforce the company's longstanding commitment to advancing fertility care through research, innovation, and personalized support. The study underscores the importance of looking beyond coverage to better understand the factors that influence whether and when patients begin fertility treatment. While the research did not evaluate the underlying reasons for differences in treatment initiation, clinical indications, patient preferences, decisions to defer treatment, and potential barriers to care may all play a role. Further research is needed to better understand these differences and identify opportunities to support informed, individualized treatment decisions. "Improving fertility care requires us to understand not only what happens during treatment, but also who is getting to treatment in the first place," said Kyle Le, MD, a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI) fellow at Shady Grove Fertility who presented the research at ASRM. "These findings highlight the importance of looking more closely at differences in treatment decisions across patient populations and identifying opportunities to ensure every individual receives appropriate, personalized care." The research was conducted by investigators affiliated with Shady Grove Fertility - Jones Institute at EVMS/ODU, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, Progyny, and Reproductive Medicine Associates (RMA) of New York. Progyny to present new menopause research at The Menopause Society 2026 Annual Meeting. NEW YORK, Oct. 15, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Progyny, Inc. (Nasdaq: PGNY), a global leader in women's health and family building solutions, announced today that it will present new research evaluating real-world outcomes from its Menopause and Midlife program and exhibit at The Menopause Society 2026 Annual Meeting in San Diego, October 20 - 24, 2026. As a leading provider of employer-sponsored menopause care around the globe, Progyny is committed to expanding access to high quality, evidence-based care and demonstrating its impact on women's health outcomes. The research, "Scaling Access to Menopause Care: Real-World Symptom Improvement in an Employer-Sponsored Program," will be presented by Gloria Richard-Davis, MD, MBA, Regional Dean at Morehouse School of Medicine, member of Progyny's Medical Advisory Board, and former Secretary and two-term member of The Menopause Society's Board of Trustees. The study was conducted in partnership with Morehouse School of Medicine and evaluated access, engagement, and changes in menopause symptoms among women participating in Progyny's employer-sponsored Menopause and Midlife program. "Menopause is a significant health transition, yet too many women still struggle to find clinicians with the expertise to provide individualized, evidence-based care," said Janet Choi, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Progyny. "This research demonstrates the potential to translate menopause expertise into a model that can reach more women and meaningfully improve their symptoms. That's an important step toward making high-quality menopause care a more accessible part of women's healthcare." Building on more than a decade of experience in fertility and family building, Progyny now supports members across the reproductive health continuum, including preconception, fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause and midlife.
