Loop uses AI to transform retail returns experience. Samir Kamnani, Senior International Programme Manager at Loop, specializes in helping retailers leverage technology to enhance the returns and post-purchase experience. With a background in product marketing and computer information systems from Chapman University, Kamnani has transitioned from Spireon to ecommerce and retail technology, focusing on balancing customer experience with profitability at Loop. Loop's ai-driven approach to returns management. Loop operates as an operations platform centered on retention, enabling brands to build customer confidence throughout the shopping journey. The company emphasizes simplifying the post-purchase experience, including tracking, returns, exchanges, protection, and customer support, transforming these touchpoints into opportunities for engagement. Trusted by over 5,000 brands, Loop has processed more than 100 million returns and offers tools like Workflows, Instant Exchanges, Shop Now, Checkout+, and Bonus Credit to reduce costs and increase customer lifetime value. Loop's competitive edge lies in its proprietary AI engine, trained on data from over 200 million shoppers, 100 million returns, and 1.4 billion shipments. This enables retailers to predict consumer behavior, encourage exchanges, and identify fraudulent activities. A recent report, The Returns Revenue Gap, revealed that 55% of British shoppers have abandoned purchases or stopped shopping with retailers due to returns policies, highlighting the direct impact on revenue and loyalty. Implementation focuses on seamless integration with existing ecommerce infrastructure, with success measured through metrics like exchange adoption, retained revenue, and refund rates. Best practices involve using data to understand return reasons and guide next steps. Challenges and opportunities in UK retail for 2027. UK retailers face pressure to protect margins while meeting consumer expectations for convenience. Fraud is another growing issue, as 31% of UK consumers admit to providing inaccurate return reasons, while 56% of retailers still rely on manual reviews to detect fraud. According to Kamnani, the opportunity lies in using data to manage returns intelligently - encouraging exchanges, reducing friction, and identifying risks. Loop aims to shift retailers from reactive to proactive strategies by leveraging AI to predict behavior, personalize experiences, and protect revenue. With 56% of retailers still using manual reviews for fraud detection, there is significant potential for technology adoption to streamline processes and enhance retention. Strategic partnerships powering Loop's ecosystem. Loop's effectiveness stems from its extensive network of over 6,000 partners across the ecommerce ecosystem. These collaborations include marketing and development agencies, logistics providers, and technology platforms that brands depend on for seamless operations. Key partners in the UK, such as Vervaunt, Domaine, and VisualSoft, specialize in enhancing the pre-and post-purchase experience through strategic expertise. Technology integrations with Shopify, Klaviyo, and Gorgias enable Loop to embed its AI-driven tools directly into retailers' existing systems. Shipping and fulfillment partnerships with OpenBorder, Sendcloud, and Global-e further streamline cross-border returns and reverse logistics, reducing friction for international shoppers. The company's 120 technology integrations showcase its commitment to interoperability. These partnerships allow brands to combine Loop's retention-focused platform with tools that optimize marketing, inventory management, and customer support. By aligning with industry leaders, Loop empowers retailers to create cohesive customer journeys while maintaining operational efficiency. The collaborative approach ensures that brands can scale globally without overhauling their core infrastructure, a critical factor for retailers managing complex, multi-channel operations. AI expansion and proactive returns strategies. Loop is advancing its AI capabilities beyond product recommendations and fraud detection to forecast returns and personalize the customer journey. By analyzing data from every interaction, it aims to shift retailers from reactive processing to proactive engagement. Kamnani emphasizes that each return generates actionable insights, enabling brands to refine products, optimize inventory, and anticipate customer needs. This transformation positions returns as a strategic lever for retention rather than a cost center. The company's vision includes embedding AI more deeply into pre-purchase stages, using predictive analytics to identify high-risk returns before they occur. Early indicators from Loop's platform suggest that integrating AI into returns workflows can reduce manual reviews by automating decision-making for low-risk cases. With only 16% of retailers currently using AI for fraud detection, the potential for scalable, intelligent systems remains significant. Loop's goal is to turn every return into a data point that strengthens customer relationships and operational resilience. Research indicates that 76% of retailers acknowledge the returns experience's impact on loyalty, yet only 6% prioritize customer churn as a post-purchase challenge. Closing this gap requires retailers to adopt data-driven approaches that align customer satisfaction with business outcomes. Loop's tools, such as Workflows and Instant Exchanges, automate these strategies, ensuring that returns become a seamless extension of the shopping journey rather than an endpoint.
Singapore leads Asia in AI-powered holiday shopping. Singapore shoppers are leaning on artificial intelligence to plan this year's festive gift-buying more than any other market surveyed, according to new research from Klaviyo, released at the marketing platform's inaugural K:SGP event in the city on Tuesday. The event marked the first regional edition of Klaviyo's global K:SGP series, coming two months after the autonomous B2C customer relationship management (CRM) platform opened its Asia headquarters in Singapore in August. Singapore shoppers lead the region on AI-assisted shopping. Klaviyo's State of the Holiday Buyer Report 2026, which surveyed 500 consumers in Singapore as part of an eight-market study, found that 81 per cent of local shoppers plan to use AI to search for holiday gifts this year, the highest adoption rate of any market surveyed. Shoppers who use AI assistants are also likely to spend more. The report found that 31 per cent of AI-assisted shoppers plan to spend more than they did last year, compared with 10 per cent of shoppers who do not use AI, a three-fold difference. Close to one in five Singapore shoppers now list AI assistants as a top source for gift ideas, ahead of brand emails. Relevance appears to matter more to shoppers than who, or what, writes a message: 60 per cent of respondents assume brand communications are already AI-generated, and 55 per cent said they do not mind whether content is written by AI or a person, as long as it is relevant. Email remains the most preferred channel at 52 per cent, though nearly half of consumers said they prefer SMS, WhatsApp or mobile app notifications. "AI is changing how people discover and spend, and nowhere is that clearer than in Singapore," said Ed Hallen, co-founder and chief strategy officer at Klaviyo. "This holiday season, more shoppers will start with an AI assistant to find the right gift and will spend more. That's a big opportunity for businesses who are ready to meet them." New tools let marketers keep control of AI personalisation. Alongside the research, Klaviyo detailed updates to two AI tools built for brands on its platform. Composer, its marketing agent, can now flag issues such as an underperforming campaign on its own, rather than waiting for a prompt. Customer Agent, its AI support tool, answers shopper questions in more than 100 languages and displays local currency to simplify cross-border sales. Both tools draw on a brand's own customer data to decide who to contact and when, while marketers set the goals and limits those systems work within. "Consumers aren't asking whether a brand used AI to create something. They're asking whether it's relevant to them," said Jamie Domenici, chief marketing officer at Klaviyo. "AI should be doing the heavy lifting, not replacing the marketer." Singapore-founded Castlery among early adopters. Singapore-founded furniture retailer Castlery is among the brands using Klaviyo's tools across email, SMS and WhatsApp. The company said automated flows built on the platform now drive 74 per cent of its Klaviyo-attributed revenue in the first half of 2026, as it shifts focus from acquiring new customers to retaining existing ones. "Our focus now is on building relationships that last, which means understanding how customers want to furnish their homes and building flows that anticipate what they need next," said Leah Howatson, general manager, international markets at Castlery. Klaviyo counts more than 205,000 paying customers globally, including Mattel, TaylorMade, Glossier and Liquid Death. Share with your friends: Discover more from techcoffeehouse.com. Published by
Klaviyo says 81% of Singaporeans plan to use AI for gift shopping. Among Singapore respondents, 31% of AI-assisted shoppers planned to spend more than last year, compared with 10% of non-users. The company also said its Composer tool can flag underperforming campaigns without a prompt. Its Customer Agent can answer shopper questions in more than 100 languages. The updates come as Singapore's Personal Data Protection Commission has issued advisory guidelines on the use of personal data in generative AI. The guidance gives merchants using AI in customer service and marketing compliance context.
How Molsoft unified Groupe Marcelle's brands on Shopify and delivered 32% sales growth. Groupe Marcelle was founded in 1949 in Canada, but its roots trace all the way back to 1871. Today, it's the largest Canadian cosmetics manufacturer, bringing together four complementary brands: Marcelle (hypoallergenic skincare and cosmetics), Lise Watier (prestige cosmetics, fragrance, and skincare), Annabelle (bold, affordable color cosmetics), and CW Beggs and Sons (premium men's skincare). Guided by values of humanity, audacity, partnership, and quality, the group has built its reputation on developing safe, innovative beauty products for women and men while creating positive experiences for customers. When Marcelle and Lise Watier - the group's two main transactional brands - began encountering limitations with their Magento (now Adobe Commerce) sites, Groupe Marcelle recognized the need for a unified digital approach that could also support future expansion for the other two brands. They selected Molsoft as their implementation partner based on the agency's Shopify expertise, proven ability to manage complex migrations, and speed of execution. Since migrating to Shopify with Molsoft, Groupe Marcelle has achieved results for Marcelle and Lise Watier including: * 32% growth in sales * 26% increase in order volume * 6% improvement in conversion rate The challenge: Fragmented platforms made for inconsistent experiences. Despite their growing reputation, Groupe Marcelle's commerce strategy wasn't set up for success. Each brand operated on a separate platform, driving up maintenance costs, slowing campaign launches, and creating inconsistent experiences that conflicted with the premium environment their customers expected. "We needed a platform that could unify our brands while enabling our expansion," explains Philippe Proulx, principal director of operational excellence at Groupe Marcelle. Performance issues plagued the Magento sites for both Marcelle and Lise Watier. Slow load times particularly affected mobile users - where more beauty purchases are made. These technical limitations led to higher abandonment rates, especially during peak shopping events when customers have little patience for sluggish experiences. Behind the scenes, logistics and enterprise resource planning (ERP) constraints further complicated operations. Relying on an external shipping provider extended delivery times and limited promotional flexibility, while synchronization problems between platforms and their ERP system caused stock discrepancies and order cancellations during high-demand periods. With another peak sales season approaching, the team needed a partner who could execute quickly without sacrificing quality and a platform that could handle a multi-store architecture with high volume traffic - leading them to Molsoft and Shopify. The solution: A complete commerce platform makeover. Molsoft approached Groupe Marcelle's replatforming from all sides. Rather than a simple migration, they helped: * Build a multi-brand architecture: Molsoft coordinated the transition of four separate storefronts into a single Shopify instance, preserving complete customer and order history while creating a more streamlined operational foundation. * Create a shared theme library with reusable components: This approach ensured visual and functional consistency where appropriate while allowing each brand to express its unique identity and target audience - from Marcelle's practical skincare focus to Lise Watier's prestige positioning. * Develop a bespoke ERP connector: To tackle their discrepancies with inventory accuracy, Molsoft built the connector to synchronize inventory and sales in real time. By integrating Machool for shipping management, they also brought logistics operations in-house, reducing processing times and improving delivery reliability. * Use Shopify's app ecosystem to enhance functionality across all brands: Molsoft integrated Klaviyo for targeted marketing automation, Recharge for product subscriptions, Rebuy for personalized recommendations, and Yotpo for reviews and user-generated content. * Conduct a complete mobile-first UX/UI overhaul: The new design improved speed, navigation, and conversion rates while creating a cohesive brand experience across all storefronts. Molsoft's expertise was essential in this transformation. Their tailored solutions ensured a smooth migration and positioned us for efficient expansion while improving the customer experience. Groupe Marcelle Philippe Proulx - Principal Director of Operational Excellence The results: Flawless growth on a unified platform. The migration to Shopify has delivered substantial improvements for Groupe Marcelle, with Marcelle and Lise Watier seeing 32% sales growth and a 26% increase in total orders during November and December compared to the previous year. The brands' conversion rates also improved by 6%, reflecting how the improved shopping experience resonates with their premium customers. Beyond the metrics, consolidating four sites into a single environment has reduced operational complexity, allowing the team to focus on strategy rather than maintenance. Now, they can build and launch new campaigns quickly while feeling assured that their inventory is accurate, their deliveries are reliable, and that their experiences are as seamless and polished as their products. How eCommerce brands are turning repeat customers into their most profitable growth channel. Customer retention in eCommerce is more crucial than ever. Brands strive to offer special loyalty bonuses, VIP tiers, and subscription benefits to win over marketplaces that dominate the market. However, the infrastructure doesn't make it easy. Subscriptions, loyalty points, in-cart upsells, and customer portals are all scattered across separate apps to manage, and this stack grows heavier and more expensive with every new feature a brand adds. To solve this problem, LION Digital has partnered with PerkRunner, the all-in-one loyalty and subscription platform. It can help eCommerce brands unify the post-purchase experience and turn repeat customers into their most profitable growth channel. The solution built by operators who've lived the problem. PerkRunner was founded by brothers Benjamin and Robert Gibson, who spent years working with D2C drinks brands across LVMH, Chanel, Duckhorn Portfolio and hundreds more implementations. That experience showed them how brands struggle to deliver a good experience for shoppers due to messy multi-app management. PerkRunner became their answer for retail. The team wanted to make subscriptions and loyalty easier for brands to manage and better for customers. So the Gibson brothers funnelled their knowledge and expertise into a slick unified product that helps retailers do more with less! How PerkRunner delivers results. PerkRunner brings subscriptions, loyalty, memberships, customer perks, and in-store recognition into a single platform, replacing the multi-app stack. It helps eCommerce brands unify the whole experience, including: * Multi-Frequency Subscriptions - Flexible delivery schedules that adapt to how customers actually want to buy. * Spend-Based Loyalty Tiers - Automatic tier progression rewards customers as they spend, without manual admin or point-tracking spreadsheets. * Promotion Planning - Brands build out their unique site-wide or loyalty tier specific promotion schedules offering timebound or inventory-bound unique perks and experiences! * Smart Cart - In-cart upsells and rewards display, surfacing the right offer when a customer is most likely to act on it. * Self-Service Branded Customer Portal - A single hub where shoppers manage subscriptions, track loyalty status, and redeem perks, reducing support tickets and boosting satisfaction. * Shopify POS Integration - Loyalty and subscription benefits are recognised in-store, not just online, so the brand experience stays consistent across every touchpoint. * Recurring Revenue Analytics - Purpose-built reporting on subscriber growth, loyalty performance, and recurring revenue, giving brands a clear view of their most predictable income stream. PerkRunner is also deeply integrated with top apps most brands already use, like Klaviyo, so marketing automation and loyalty data work together. Proven success: iKOU. iKOU is an Australian luxury natural skincare, body care, and wellness brand. They deliver premium products and services and want their customer experience to be outstanding as well. That's what PerkRunner helped deliver. iKOU used the platform at full capacity. They run flexible subscriptions across a range of its key products, offer spend-based loyalty and rewards tiers with unique perks, and run the PerkRunner's Smart Cart to drive in-cart engagement. iKOU's managing director summed up the partnership: "PerkRunner came up as the clear winner for features, implementation, and support. This is a company that understands modern eCommerce and in-store experience." Ultimately, PerkRunner helped iKOU build stronger customer relationships and boost a powerful revenue channel. PerkRunner is particularly well-suited to beauty, health and fitness, pet, supplement, and other recurrent-use product brands, where subscription and loyalty behaviour are already central to how customers buy. Plus, it's wholly Australian-based and built, giving clients access to local support rather than an offshore help desk working across time zones. They're an adaptable team that focuses on quality over quantity and takes pride in the clients they work with. It's the same professional approach LION Digital stakes its reputation on.
