About the job
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Demonstrate leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Prior reactor operator experience in the Navy or commercial sector is preferred.
- A prior Senior Reactor Operator license at a commercial facility is preferred.
- Have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to maintain composure during stressful situations.
- Be available for occasional long, irregular hours.
- Successfully complete the training program to obtain a site-specific Senior Reactor Operator license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
- Coordinate and implement plant equipment controls, integrated operations procedures, operations, maintenance, radiological support, modifications, maintenance planning, work control, chemistry, or accredited training.
- Train and study for Senior Reactor Operator certification.
- Exhibit basic knowledge of engineering.
- Maintain an active Senior Reactor Operator license.
- Ensure adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain constructive relationships with regulatory agencies and other departments.
- Ensure conservative decision-making and nuclear safety.
- Prior reactor operator experience in the Navy or commercial sector.
