JSSI names David Schmitt Director of Customer Field Support, Americas. * August 5, 2026 JSSI has appointed David Schmitt as Director of Customer Field Support, Americas, a newly created role leading one of JSSI's two regional maintenance field support organizations, structured to serve customers more closely around the world. Schmitt will lead the Americas field support team, the technical experts responsible for managing airframe and engine maintenance events across the United States, Canada, Latin America, and the Caribbean. The regional model positions JSSI teams closer to the operators they support, with dedicated regional expertise, faster response times, and stronger local relationships with vendors and OEMs. JSSI's technical services organization spans more than 70 technical advisors and a global network of over 600 MROs, primarily supporting the company's Hourly Cost Maintenance (HCM) clients across thousands of aircraft worldwide. For clients, that means the people managing their maintenance events are grounded in the realities of their region and their fleet. Schmitt brings deep, well-rounded experience across the maintenance lifecycle, from hands-on aircraft maintenance to manufacturing, supply chain, and operations leadership. That breadth positions him to lead a disciplined, data-driven approach to event management across the Americas. "As JSSI continues to scale, maintaining the highest standard of support for our customers is critical. We face daily challenges across our engine and airframe business, and it is through our network of expert technicians and our partners, suppliers and vendors alike, that we deliver the best service in the industry. With our field support organized along regional lines, our team is positioned closer to customers, backed by dedicated regional expertise and stronger local relationships. David's background across the maintenance lifecycle makes him the right person to lead that work in the Americas," said Alexis Javkin, Executive Vice President, Maintenance Operations & Procurement, Technical Services, JSSI. Before joining JSSI, Schmitt served as General Manager for Aerospace & Defense In-Lab Services at Mistras Group. Prior to that, he spent several years at Honeywell Aerospace in aftermarket and MRO operations, holding roles including Senior Operations Manager for Aftermarket/MRO and Director of Operations across OEM, APU, and engine lines. That experience spans the same engine and airframe programs JSSI supports every day, and gives him a working understanding of both the technical and commercial sides of a maintenance event. Schmitt's operational discipline was forged well before his aerospace career. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force before retiring in 2022, including five combat deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Leading maintenance and operations in those environments, where readiness is not negotiable and there is no margin for delay, shaped the standard he now brings to managing events for JSSI customers. It is the kind of background that matters most on the days an operator can least afford downtime. Originally from Connecticut, Schmitt is relocating from the Phoenix area to the greater Chicago region, home to JSSI's global headquarters. Please join Jet Support Services, Inc. in welcoming David to the JSSI team.
Opening parts bottlenecks. Ongoing production backlogs caused by stubborn supply chain bottlenecks at OEMs have meant delays in sourcing parts that have disrupted flights. Through its PartsHub platform JSSI has its own supply lines with access to around 100,000 lines of parts and more than 84 lease engines. At the same time, inflationary pressure on maintenance costs caused by factors such as labor shortages and what JSSI says is "OEM pricing power" are battering operators' profit and loss figures. The company argues there has never been a more pressing need for companies to lock into defined support costs. In the face of what it says are rising interest rates, the JSSI Aviation Capital unit aims to provide a smoother path to completing aircraft transactions, providing asset-based finance on more terms it says are more advantageous than those offered by traditional banks. It recently recruited experienced financing expert Paul Sykes from a leading business aircraft OEM to be its director of origination, based in the UK. In the software domain, JSSI said that its Traxxall business unit is gaining market share with its proprietary maintenance tracking system. "The key is that we have a multi-platform approach," Roger explained. "We have access to data for any type of private jet." This part of the group also includes the Conklin & DeDecker aircraft data platform. JSSI said it expects to roll out new features and functionality later this year. At the Aero Friedrichshafen show, JSSI - now in its 35th year - is exhibiting as part of the group pavilion run by the German Business Aviation Association. Just over 12 months ago, it appointed Jan Hascher as its new vice president of business aviation in Europe, and, at the end of 2025, it added Ozge Dertli as a new sales director for JSSI Parts & Engine.
JSSI (Jet Support Services Inc) unveils new logo and brand identity. Mar 28, 2026 JSSI revamped its corporate identity because the previous version no longer reflected the scale of the business. The largest independent provider of maintenance services and financial solutions for business aviation unveiled a refreshed brand, a new logo, and a restructured organizational chart. The entire overhaul stems from a desire to communicate more clearly with clients and partners about the company's future direction. Since 1989, Jet Support Services, Inc. has remained committed to independence and protecting the interests of aircraft owners and operators. The new brand identity and refreshed value proposition reinforce the promise the company has upheld for many years. The company operates in the aviation maintenance sector and runs engine and component support programs for business aviation. Its clients include business jet owners, charter operators, and corporate aviation divisions. The new logo emphasizes the JSSI acronym. The lettering is now denser and more compact, making the logo look better on fuselages, in interfaces, documentation, and corporate materials. Vice President of Marketing Isabella Rimton notes that the JSSI logo had not changed for over twenty years, even though the business itself has come a long way during that time, evolving from maintenance programs into a comprehensive system of services and products. The mission, however, remains the same. JSSI takes on complex issues related to aircraft maintenance and financial instruments, integrates them into a single system, and helps clients mitigate risks, make more informed decisions, keep costs under control, and maintain their fleet in operational condition. The changes also affected the brand's visual identity. On launch day, JSSI unveiled a new website with a more user-friendly service layout. For existing clients, the workflow remains unchanged. The update focuses on the company's visual identity and reaffirms its long-standing commitment to client support and continued growth. The previous logo was built around a circular emblem. Inside the circle was a linear silhouette of an airplane, drawn with a single continuous dark blue line. The circle kept the logo within compact boundaries and framed it into a complete medallion. Next to it was the inscription "JSSI," set in a font with soft serifs. Discover more Logo evolution tracking Sports team logos Color theory guides The new version is structured differently. The circle was removed, the airplane silhouette was moved into open space, and transformed into a standalone logo. The outline became thicker, stiffer, and more angular, with sharp breaks, giving the image a more high-tech feel. The JSSI inscription remained, although the typography changed. The serifs disappeared, the letters became straight and compact, and the font shifted to a strict corporate sans-serif. The dark blue color was retained.
