Duties as a Brewista:

(Northern News Now) - Traffic frustrations tied to a 7 Brew location in Duluth have prompted drivers and residents to post about long lines and what some described as dangerous situations on the road. 7 Brew, a national drive-thru coffee chain, celebrated the grand opening of its first Duluth-area location on Anderson Road on August 19. On opening day, lines wrapped around the street, causing long lines of traffic. A picture posted online on September 7th by the City of Duluth showed cars lined up through the intersection, causing "significant traffic congestion", according to the City of Duluth. "City of Duluth engineers are aware of the congestion and are exploring solutions. In the meantime, drivers' patience is greatly appreciated," said the city in a post. In Duluth, there is only one lane to get in and out of the 7 Brew, which is where many of the complaints are coming from. Construction underway in Superior. Across the bridge in Superior, another 7 Brew is under construction at 21st Street and Tower Avenue. The intersection is already busy, and some neighbors are asking whether the same traffic problems seen in Duluth could happen there as well. Superior Mayor Jim Paine was asked what the city is doing to avoid that outcome. "A few things we have asked for are, one, make sure they have extra capacity, so they are building two lanes in Superior. We've asked them to hold off on some of the immediate promotion so that we all can just get a sense of what the traffic looks like," said Paine. Bridge closure concerns. Paine was also asked whether the upcoming Blatnik Bridge closure could make traffic worse near the new location. He said he is concerned given that one traffic disruption is on the way, but he expects the bridge project to affect the center of town and not that corner of Superior.
