Thousands of Walmart brand Great Value fruit cocktail cans recalled.

Thousands of Walmart brand Great Value fruit cocktail cans recalled. Fernando Cervantes Jr., USA TODAY Updated Thu, October 22, 2026 at 12:29 PM PDT A possible lead contamination is being cited for the recall of thousands of cans of Great Value fruit cocktail in fruit juice sold in Walmart stores, according to a recall notice posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. According to the FDA, the ongoing recall is being classified as a Class II, which means the consumption or exposure to the affected fruit cocktail could "cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences." The FDA said that more than 44,000 cans of Great Value Fruit Cocktail in Fruit Juice from Concentrate are affected, as they could have been contaminated with elevated levels of lead. The cans were produced by California-based Pacific Coast Producers, which initiated the recall. Walmart and Pacific Coast Producers did not immediately respond to USA TODAY's request for comment. Here's what to know. What Great Value fruit cocktail cans are recalled? The FDA said the affected cans are 15-ounces with a lot code of 6FCB 04 C2263 and a "best if used by" date of "SEP 01 2027" printed on them. Where were the Great Value fruit cocktail cans sold? According to the notice, the cans were distributed to Walmart stores in Alabama, Arizona, Louisiana, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Washington and Wyoming. Recalls after recalls. The ongoing fruit cocktail recall comes only weeks after frozen berries sold at Trader Joe's and Walmart were recalled due to an ongoing multistate E. coli outbreak. Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur S.A. first initiated a recall for GreenWise-brand frozen organic blueberries on July 3, which later expanded on July 29 to include GreenWise frozen mixed berries, all sold at Publix. On Sept. 2, the recall expanded to include a frozen berry product sold at Walmart. It was again expanded on Oct. 2 to include more products sold at Walmart and Trader Joe's.
