- Experience with practice management systems and office automation.
- Extensive knowledge of Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases, Tenth Revision coding and insurance reimbursement.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Extensive experience communicating with patients regarding collection of patient balances and explaining balance details.
- High school graduation.
- Edit and bill physician and clinic claims to payers for charges incurred at FirstHealth clinics.
- Follow up with payers regarding non-payment, denials, and underpayments.
- Ensure billing is compliant and accurate.
- Manage clinic accounts receivable to ensure claims are billed within payer timely-filing limits.
- Add documentation to accounts to reflect communication with payers.
- Technical college education or certification.
- Five years of medical billing experience.
