Honda Racing Corporation launching race-derived tuning upgrades for hot hatches and SUVs at SEMA 2026.

Honda Racing Corporation launching race-derived tuning upgrades for hot hatches and SUVs at SEMA 2026. Sebastian Cenizo Thu, October 22, 2026 at 3:12 PM PDT Autoblog and Yahoo may earn commission from links in this article. Throughout the year, Honda has been teasing new race-inspired parts, and it's finally ready to deliver, starting at SEMA 2026. Along with a hardcore HRC-developed Civic Type R reportedly coming next year, Honda Racing Corporation said in 2024 that it would soon offer HRC aftermarket upgrades, and both promises were previewed with the Civic Type R HRC concept. Now, the automaker has confirmed that HRC will launch new performance parts at the 2026 edition of the Specialty Equipment Market Association Show, with sales starting in March 2027. The upgrades will be offered for hot hatches and SUVs alike, so let's see which vehicles benefit. HRC wheels, exhausts, and more coming to Honda products. To begin with, the range of HRC Performance Parts will include lightweight forged wheels and tuned exhaust systems, but Honda has much more coming, which Incite D'll discuss shortly. The initial range caters to the Civic Type R (2023+) and Integra Type S (2024+), with HRC working alongside Italian outfit 2elle-engineering (wheel supplier for the race-winning 10,000-rpm Acura ARX-06 LMDh race car) to develop a forged aluminum wheel measuring 19 inches in diameter and 10 inches in width (0.5 inches wider than standard CTR/ITS wheels), finishing the thin spokes and rims in a glossy gray that matches the race car's aesthetic. Each wheel tips the scales at just 20.8 pounds, or 5.5 lbs less than factory, saving 22 lbs of unsprung mass overall, and the offset on each has risen 5 millimeters to 55 mm. Not only does this improve track width, thus enhancing traction and grip, but the increased offset will also improve ease of fitment of larger calipers, which is not by accident... View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article For the Honda Passport (2026+) and Pilot (2023+), HRC worked with Titan 7, which supplies the corporation with wheels for Pikes Peak International Hill Climb racers and other production-based racing programs. In this case, strength was the key, and the new HRC 18x8-inch wheel (ET40) is forged from aircraft-grade 6061 aluminum at 10,000 tons of pressure, increasing load capacity for each wheel by over 220 lbs compared to the standard wheel. This comes in either Machine Black or Techna Bronze, each with "Honda Racing" impressions on the wheel face. The SUVs also get access to a 304 stainless steel Borla exhaust with HRC logos on the tips. This increases flow by up to six percent without causing drone at cruising speeds, and it's designed to take up as little space as possible while working with the factory exhaust hangers. As a result, ground clearance on the Passport and Pilot increases by an impressive 1.9 inches. All of these upgrades will be available exclusively through Honda and Acura dealers or the online Honda DreamShop, but more is coming. More to come from Honda and HRC. View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article When an automaker announces that it will offer factory-backed aftermarket upgrades, wheels and exhaust systems are the easiest place to start, but many stop there. Not so with Honda and HRC - their SEMA exhibit will also showcase "prototypes of future parts," and these will include adjustable coilover suspension with camber plates, a big brake kit from Brembo with six-piston calipers, and a short-throw shifter. Those things are catnip to serious driving enthusiasts, and Incite D can't wait to see what else Honda and HRC offer next. Hopefully, pricing is as fun as the parts themselves. HRC parts are officially coming for the Honda Civic Type R, Acura Integra Type S, and more.

HRC parts are officially coming for the Honda Civic Type R, Acura Integra Type S, and more. Owners of the Honda Passport and Pilot TrailSport models can get in on the fun, too. By Zac PalmerPublished: Oct 22, 2026 10:37 AM EDT Honda has been teasing Vigilante4x4 with an HRC (Honda Racing Corporation) performance parts division for a couple of years - and as of Thursday, Vigilante4x4 has word that it's finally here. HRC is using the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas as a launching pad for the initiative, as it's planning on showing off a few ready-to-buy parts in addition to prototypes of future parts. Just as you might suspect, the current Honda Civic Type R and Acura Integra Type S are the stars of the show, and will be the two cars where most of these parts can be installed. Initially, HRC will be offering a new forged aluminum wheel made in partnership with 2elle-engineering for the Type R and Type S. (This Italian wheel-maker supplies the wheels for the Acura ARX-06 race car, so it only makes sense to extend the partnership to the road.) A 19-inch wheel in either gray or bronze will be offered: it's 0.5 inch wider than the factory wheel, and drops 5.5 pounds per corner; the offset is 55mm versus 60mm from factory. Honda says it tested the wheel on the Nürburgring, noting its reduction in unsprung weight, wider width, and increased negative offset all help improve handling. Not to mention, the offset should naturally improve the car's stance. Unfortunately, Vigilante4x4 don't have a price yet. In addition to the wheels, Honda says it intends to show off prototypes of adjustable coilovers with camber plates, a six-piston Brembo brake kit (the stock Type R has a four-piston caliper), and a short throw shifter. Vigilante4x4 don't know the details on these parts yet, but there could be more to learn at SEMA this year. Beyond the Type R and Type S, HRC is also offering parts for the Passport and Pilot. For folks who intend to do more than the typical off-roading in their TrailSport models, you can buy a new 18-inch off-road-focused wheel developed with Titan 7. This forged aluminum wheel allows for an additional 220-pound load capacity beyond the factory wheel. Both black and bronze finishes will be available, and "Honda Racing" will be machined into the wheel face. And in case you wanted a louder Passport or Pilot, HRC has you covered there with a cat-back exhaust system developed with Borla. This stainless steel exhaust increases flow rate by 6 percent, and the system's design increases ground clearance by up to 1.9 inches to ensure it isn't damaged when off-roading. Honda says it uses "Anti-Drone" technology from Borla to keep things quiet on the highway, but the idea is to accentuate the "natural sound" of the 3.5-liter V-6. Tips with the HRC logo finish the job out back. HRC says all of these parts will be available through Honda and Acura dealerships and the Honda DreamShop. That said, you'll need to wait until the official on-sale date in March 2027 to bring them home. A Michigan-born car nut and racing enthusiast, Zac Palmer is talking about or thinking about cars somewhere. He bought his first when he was still 15, a 2001 Acura Integra GS-R that still resides in the garage today. It's now joined by a 2004 Porsche Boxster S, and there will be even less practical additions to follow. Palmer worked at both Autoweek and Autoblog before joining R&T.

Honda canceled its entire EV lineup, but the Alpha survived and it's coming soon.

Honda canceled its entire EV lineup, but the Alpha survived and it's coming soon. Honda is exiting the North American EV market, but is already rolling out a new model, which will not make it to the U.S. Published: 20 Oct 2026, 21:33 UTC - By: Photo: Honda Honda has officially confirmed that the production version of the 0 Alpha electric SUV will make its debut later this year. The news drops seven months after the Japanese automaker canceled almost its entire electric lineup and completely exited the North American EV market. Honda scrapped its EV strategy in North America and made the news public in a press release on March 12, 2026. The decision was driven by a major reassessment of its global electrification strategy, due to the EV market meltdown, shifting government subsidy policies, and aggressive competition from Chinese automakers. Honda was simply unable to deal with all these and canceled the launch of its highly promoted, upcoming in-house-developed electric vehicles that were only months away from going into production at Honda's Marysville, Ohio, EV hub, retooled based on a massive investment to produce zero-tailpipe-emission cars. That meant that the Honda 0 SUV, the Honda 0 Saloon, and the Acura RSX EV went straight to the cars' Valhalla without even seeing the light of day in production form. The sudden move led to an estimated $15.7 billion write-off. This adjustment forced Honda to report a net loss for the fiscal year ending March 2026, marking the company's first annual consolidated operating loss in nearly 70 years. Photo: Honda Just a few months later, in July 2026, Honda came up with one more cancellation. The automaker announced the complete discontinuation of the Honda Prologue, its only high-volume electric vehicle on sale in North America, by the end of the 2026 model year. The Prologue sits on General Motors' BEV3 platform, sporting the Ultium battery architecture and sharing its chassis, powertrain, and electronics with the Chevrolet Blazer. The Prologue (still) rolls off the production line of the Ramos Arizpe factory in Mexico, which makes it a victim of the 25% tariffs on imported goods. The production lines will stop in December 2026. Remaining dealership inventory is expected to completely sell out by the end of the first quarter of 2027. With this move, Honda is exiting the U.S. EV market, as the company fully redirected its resources into manufacturing gas-powered electric hybrids. However, it turns out that the Japanese automaker still has something to say in the battery-electric car segment and officially confirmed the arrival of the Honda 0 Alpha SUV. Its global debut is set to take place on December 2, 2026, with deliveries starting in early 2027. Photo: Honda For the moment, prototypes are undergoing road tests in India and Japan. Unofficial reports indicate that the production model will drop the "0 Alpha" designation and receive a new commercial name, set to be revealed shortly. The model will retain the boxy design with the upright front fascia, supporting the illuminated redesigned "H" logo, a tall roofline, squared-off wheel arches, and flush door handles. A large central touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, a panoramic roof, and Level 2 ADAS safety systems are expected to make their way on board the Honda 0 Alpha. Built on Honda's first homegrown, in-house electric skateboard platform developed entirely from scratch, the 0 Alpha, or whatever its name will be, will be available with either the 61-kWh or the 75 kWh battery pack options. The automaker is targeting a range of up to 404 miles (650 kilometers). However, that sounds overly optimistic. It will more likely be around 280 to 311 miles (450 to 500 kilometers) for the variant with the largest battery pack, in real driving conditions. Photo: Honda The model will roll off the production line of Honda's Tapakura plant in Rajasthan, India, serving both domestic sales and international exports, including Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Instead of targeting Western regions, Honda is shifting its EV focus, making the 0 Alpha off-limits for U.S. buyers. Why is that happening? It is obviously cheaper to engineer a car to meet the Asian market regulations than to develop it for the American or European markets, where stricter regulations would require a larger investment. In the meantime, following the multi-billion-dollar EV write-off, Honda is reallocating its North American resources to an aggressive hybrid offensive of next-generation models. Honda is planning to introduce 15 new hybrid models globally by 2030, heavily focusing on North America. The Ohio EV hub that was originally retrofitted to build the 0 Series EVs will be involved in other projects. Honda is investing $2 billion in an all-new manufacturing facility where it is planning to build a full-size three-row hybrid SUV. This marks Honda's first completely new assembly plant in North America in nearly two decades. Photo: Honda The firm is still considering introducing EVs in America, but it is stepping back to reconsider its strategy. Seeing how automakers such as Ford, Slate, Hyundai and Kia, and Chevrolet offer affordable zero-tailpipe-emission models, Honda might as well consider joining the segment with a model to start under $30,000.
