P&C insurers are losing to Fragmentation: Hyland for Guidewire gives them back speed, scale, and AI insights.

P&C insurers are losing to Fragmentation: Hyland for Guidewire gives them back speed, scale, and AI insights. Oct 19, 2026, 08:30 ET * Insurers are losing time, customers, and revenue to fragmented content systems that force adjusters, underwriters, and billing teams to hunt across disconnected repositories instead of driving business. * Hyland for Guidewire delivers an easy-to-deploy integration with Guidewire core insurance systems (including Guidewire ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, BillingCenter), eliminating silos, accelerating operations, and creating the content foundation that AI modernization requires. * P&C insurers can now consolidate fragmented content, reduce implementation costs, and unlock intelligent automation without migration; all while staying on Guidewire. CLEVELAND, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ - The insurance industry is at a tipping point as customer expectations are rising, regulatory requirements are ongoing, and AI is reshaping the competitive landscape. Yet property and casualty (P&C) insurers are still trapped in inefficiency as claims adjusters are left searching across disconnected systems for documents, underwriters are wasting time on manual processes instead of writing business, and billing teams are managing collections without centralized visibility. These fragmented, siloed operations cost time, money, and ultimately customer experience. This is why Hyland today announced Hyland for Guidewire, a set of ready-to-deploy cloud integrations validated by Guidewire and available on Guidewire Marketplace. These solutions connect the Hyland Content Innovation Cloud(TM) with Guidewire core insurance applications (Guidewire ClaimCenter, PolicyCenter, and BillingCenter) giving P&C insurers the unified content foundation they need to operate faster, smarter and at scale. "P&C insurers using Guidewire are modernizing how they operate, but they're often doing it on fragmented content foundations that ultimately slow their business down," said Kathy Hrach, vice president of insurance product management at Hyland. "Together with Guidewire, we're solving this critical gap, empowering insurers with the technology solutions they need without costly and time-consuming content migrations and custom builds. This integration is about removing friction from every step of the claims, underwriting, and billing process so our insurance customers can focus on what matters: making fast, sound decisions and delivering better customer experiences." Breaking the Fragmentation Trap Hyland for Guidewire is a set of pre-built, validated integrations that reduces the time, cost, and complexity of custom development. Using Hyland Content Federation Service, the integration connects OnBase on-premises customers to the Content Innovation Cloud and Guidewire applications, with no content migration required. This gives adjusters, underwriters, and billing teams immediate access to the documents and data they need without leaving the Guidewire interface. The results are transformational: * Faster Claims Resolution: With centralized access to claims documents, supporting images, correspondence, and policy information within ClaimCenter, adjusters can resolve claims faster, reduce cycle times, and improve customer experience. * Streamlined Underwriting: Underwriters access complete policy context, with all supporting documentation, images, and historical data directly within PolicyCenter. Underwriting decisions can be made faster, with better information, opening the door to higher volume, and improved profitability. * Efficient Policyholder Transactions: Billing teams gain centralized visibility into customer communications, payment histories, and policy documentation without manual workarounds. BillingCenter users can access everything they need, including policies, claims decisions, and correspondence in a single interface. Rather than forcing costly, time-consuming content migration, Hyland for Guidewire leverages Content Federation Service to create a unified view of content across systems. Whether insurers are using Hyland OnBase on-premises, in the cloud, or across both environments, Hyland for Guidewire bridges the gap without the burden of content migration. The Path Forward: Content as Competitive Strategy For P&C insurers using or considering Guidewire, the message is clear: content infrastructure modernization isn't optional. It is the foundation of modern insurance operations. Insurers that consolidate fragmented content, unify access, and build AI-enabled automation will operate faster, spend less, and compete more effectively. Hyland for Guidewire is available starting today on Guidewire Marketplace. Connect with Hyland at Guidewire Connections, October 26-29, at booth CM-G3.For more information on capabilities, implementation, and how to evaluate fit for your organization, visit Hyland.com. West Bend moves claims operations to Guidewire Cloud.

West Bend moves claims operations to Guidewire Cloud. The carrier says the cloud implementation creates the data foundation needed to expand analytics and AI across claims workflows. Anthony R. O'Donnell // September 30, 2026 (Image credit: IIR.) West Bend Insurance Company (West Bend, Wisc.) has moved its claims operations onto Guidewire Cloud across all lines of business, establishing what the companies describe as a foundation for broader use of analytics and AI in claims. The implementation gives West Bend direct access to claims data within live operational workflows, which the carrier says will support improved claims decision-making and future expansion of AI capabilities. "Connecting our reliable data directly to live workflows is what makes AI in claims management possible," comments Murali Natarajan, SVP and CIO, West Bend. "By embedding analytics directly into the daily workflow, we can improve indemnity accuracy and deliver optimized claims service to our policyholders." Natarajan says the architecture is intended to create a claims environment that can learn from previously closed claims and apply those insights to subsequent ones. Building the Claims Data Foundation Guidewire (San Mateo, Calif.) positions the migration as an example of how insurers can prepare existing core workflows for AI and agentic applications by improving access to operational data. "Implementing Guidewire Cloud provides the direct, real-time data access required to turn raw claims information into actionable operational intelligence," comments Michael Mahoney, Head of Professional Services, Guidewire. Ernst & Young LLP (EY), a Guidewire Consulting member, led the implementation. "West Bend now has the foundation to shift from reactive claims handling to a proactive, data-driven strategy across the entire business," comments Chris Raimondo, EY Global and EY U.S. Insurance Consulting Leader. West Bend writes property, casualty and workers' compensation insurance in 14 states and offers surety coverage nationwide.
