Requirements
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Familiarity with medical office procedures.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within six months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire; American Red Cross certification may be acceptable at some Pennsylvania practice locations.
  • For New Jersey locations, graduation from an accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program with at least 330 hours of instruction and training in administering intramuscular and subcutaneous injections is required.
  • Internal Einstein applicants transferring within Einstein entities do not need Medical Assistant certification if they are current Einstein employees in a current Medical Assistant role with a hire date before July 1, 2024.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds and perform frequent sitting, standing, and keyboard use; patient-care providers may also need to kneel, bend, squat, and perform CPR.
Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians as they assess, examine, and treat patients.
  • Manage patient flow.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure proper identification.
  • Perform and document vital signs, clinical care quality measures, and medical history information.
  • Remain proficient and knowledgeable in the use of information technology systems and their documentation requirements within the established scope of practice.
  • Assist physicians with examinations and diagnostic procedures, and perform EKGs, venipuncture, and injections in the office as appropriate to provide quality patient care.
  • Adhere to HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
  • Order clinical supplies, maintain inventory, and facilitate smooth office operations.
  • Act as a liaison to physicians to support patient satisfaction.

  • Experience in a physician's office or another healthcare setting is preferred.
