Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or GED and at least six years of experience in direct-current power equipment installation are required.
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word are required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel approximately 100% and work different shifts, including swing shifts, are required.
  • Ability to lift at least 40 pounds is required.
  • Ability to operate motorized lift equipment to maneuver, install, or remove 80-750 pound batteries is required.
  • Ability to frequently push or pull cables weighing up to 60 pounds is required.
  • Ability to frequently climb and work on ladders up to 8 feet for extended periods is required.
  • Ability to continuously stand and frequently reach above, below, or at shoulder level is required.
  • Ability to frequently bend, twist, stoop, crouch, or squat is required.
  • Ability to work in varying environments with moderate noise and nominal variations in heat and cold is required.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform circuit modifications, additions, and removals on active power distribution systems.
  • Execute power transition operations and test and turn up power system equipment.
  • Oversee volatile and high-risk work activities at the job site.
  • Serve as Site Supervisor by ensuring project compliance, safety, and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues using experience and sound judgment.
  • Plan and accomplish tasks to meet customer goals and resolve key issues in a timely manner.

  • Prior field engineering experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • An electrical degree, certificate, or apprenticeship.
  • Alternating-current electrical experience.

OmniOn Power launches Osprey bus converters with 98.5% efficiency for AI data centres

OmniOn Power has launched new high-efficiency Osprey bus converters designed for AI data centres and high-density computing applications. The QODN series includes four models ranging from 1,300W to 2,600W, delivering peak efficiencies exceeding 98.4%. The converters provide 48/54V-to-12V conversion in a quarter-brick footprint. According to Philip Zuk, SVP and GM of OmniOn Power's AI and Data Centre business, the new series offers up to 1% efficiency improvement over previous-generation modules without requiring additional board space. Key features include a 40-60V input range, regulated 12V output, integrated PMBus interface, and operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. The converters are designed to address power conversion and thermal challenges as AI server racks scale to higher power densities.

OmniOn Power appoints Philip Zuk as SVP to lead AI and data centre business unit

OmniOn Power has appointed Philip Zuk as Senior Vice President and General Manager of its AI and Data Center business unit. Zuk brings over 25 years of experience in global power electronics and semiconductors to address power challenges in AI-driven data centres. Zuk's previous roles include guiding Transphorm through its IPO and acquisition by Renesas, and leading product marketing and business development at Microsemi, Vishay Siliconix and Transphorm. He also founded PCZ Consulting Group, advising on go-to-market strategy for power electronics companies. CEO David French said the appointment strengthens OmniOn's position in the fast-paced AI infrastructure market. High efficiency and power density make the FPLX-series DC/DC converters ideal for a wide variety of networking, data center, telecom, and industrial applications.Power density continues to play an essential role in printed circuit board (PCB) design across industries and applications. With increased computing capacity demands to support today’s connected and fast-paced world, board designers are challenged with packing as many value-added features as possible onto ever-shrinking PCBs. To address power density and efficiency challenges, OmniOn PowerTM has added new FPLX-series DC/DC converters to its DLynx IIITM family of non-isolated point-of-load (POL) modules. The new 15-amp (A) FPLX015, 20A FPLX020 and 30A FPLX030 modules feature compact 10 mm by 10 mm footprints and provide power densities of 97 A/in2, 129 A/in2 and 194 A/in2, respectively. The common footprint of all three modules enables design flexibility, allowing customers to easily upgrade or downgrade the current throughout the design process to meet the specific needs of end applications
