LEGO Harry Potter Collection announced for Nintendo Switch 2 with October release.

LEGO Harry Potter Collection announced for Nintendo Switch 2 with October release. Warner Bros. Games, TT Games and the LEGO Group have confirmed the LEGO Harry Potter Collection is coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on 16 October 2026, bundling both games and all DLC in a single package with pre-orders now open The LEGO Harry Potter Collection is officially heading to Nintendo Switch 2, with Warner Bros. Games, TT Games and the LEGO Group confirming a 16 October 2026 release date. Announced during the Back to Hogwarts 2026 showcase, this marks the first time the complete collection will be available on Nintendo's next-generation hardware. Pre-orders for both physical and digital editions are now live, with the physical version set to include both games on a single key card. What the collection includes. The LEGO Harry Potter Collection brings together LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 and LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7, covering all eight films in the series. Players can expect the familiar blend of puzzle-solving, spell-casting and light-hearted humour that has defined the LEGO games, with the added bonus of all previously released downloadable content. The included Character Pack features a range of notable characters such as Godric Gryffindor, Luna (Lion Head), and Peeves, while the Spell Pack adds spells like Cantis and Tentaclifors. Development for the Switch 2 version is being handled by Double Eleven and Cast Iron Games, with TT Games remaining as the original developer and Warner Bros. Games as publisher. The collection is designed to offer the full experience in one package, making it accessible for both returning fans and newcomers to the series. Gameplay and platform details. Both games in the collection follow the events of the Harry Potter films, allowing players to relive key moments from Harry's first year at Hogwarts through to the final confrontation with Lord Voldemort. The gameplay remains focused on cooperative play, exploration, and the signature LEGO approach to storytelling. The Switch 2 release is expected to support both handheld and docked modes, though specific technical enhancements or performance targets have not yet been detailed. Physical and digital editions will launch simultaneously, with the physical edition confirmed to contain both games on a single key card. No information has been provided regarding exclusive features or platform-specific content for the Switch 2 version at this stage. Release timing and franchise context. The LEGO Harry Potter Collection has previously launched on other platforms, but this marks its debut on Nintendo Switch 2. The release date of 16 October 2026 positions it ahead of the holiday season, potentially making it a key title for families and franchise fans. All previously released DLC is included from day one, removing the need for additional purchases to access the full roster of characters and spells. For those interested in how other franchises are expanding their content offerings, a recent update for Shujinkou added new Steam Achievements tied to DLC, as covered in its report on Shujinkou's latest content update. What remains unconfirmed. While the announcement confirms the release date, included content and platform, several details remain unaddressed. There is no word yet on whether the Switch 2 version will feature technical upgrades such as higher resolution, improved frame rates or enhanced visual effects compared to previous releases. Pricing for each edition has not been disclosed, and there is no mention of early access or pre-load options. Players should also note that no hands-on previews or independent technical analyses have been published for the Switch 2 build at this time. Further updates are likely as the release date approaches, particularly regarding performance targets and any unique features that may take advantage of the Switch 2 hardware. Downloadable content, or DLC, refers to additional game content released after the main game, often including new characters, levels, or features. In the case of the LEGO Harry Potter Collection, all previously released DLC is bundled with the base games, meaning players receive the complete set of extra content without separate purchases. This approach can simplify the buying decision for players and ensures that everyone has access to the same gameplay features from launch.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 reveals The Sift dimension and new combat mechanics.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 reveals The Sift dimension and new combat mechanics. Key Takeaways * Mojang Studios and Double Eleven revealed "The Sift," an alternate dimension shifting the campaign away from the Arch-Illager storyline. * Combat expands with a dynamic possession system that empowers regular mobs, supported by a deeper arsenal including the Battlestaff and War Hammer. * Minecraft Dungeons 2 officially launches on September 29, 2026, across PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Switch, and Switch 2. Mojang expands the arsenal and threat levels. Mojang Studios released an official gameplay trailer for Minecraft Dungeons 2, blending CGI cinematic sequences with active gameplay footage. Double Eleven returns as a development partner for this action RPG sequel. The development team is expanding the core combat loop by introducing a dynamic possession mechanic. Familiar enemies from the previous installment will return, but unknown entities can now possess these mobs to significantly amplify their danger level. To combat these empowered targets, players receive access to an expanded, highly customizable armory. The official Steam update highlights distinct weapon classes, including the magic-focused Battlestaff and the heavy-hitting War Hammer. Players can modify these weapons using enchantments like Lightning Surge or Soul Blast to tailor their specific combat builds. What is the Sift in Minecraft Dungeons 2? The Sift is a brand-new alternate dimension in Minecraft Dungeons 2 accessed by stepping through mysterious rifts scattered across the Overworld. This strange landscape introduces unfamiliar environments, powerful new enemy variants, and high-tier challenges designed to test experienced cooperative parties. According to the official lore released by Mojang Studios, these rifts began appearing shortly after the game's initial announcement. The Sift acts as a central focal point for the sequel's campaign, moving the narrative focus entirely away from the original Arch-Illager storyline. Release date, platforms, and editions. Mojang Studios locked in the Minecraft Dungeons 2 release date for September 29, 2026. The supported platforms include Windows PC, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and the Nintendo Switch 2. Cross-platform cooperative play will support up to four players simultaneously. Standard pre-orders include the Twisted cape, a Twisted Chicken pet, and two hero skins. A Deluxe Edition expands this offering with the Soul cape, the Blub pet, four extra hero skins, and guaranteed access to the first two post-launch DLC packs. The shift in cooperative dynamics. Mojang Studios is deliberately pivoting away from the static mob encounters that defined the 2020 original. The introduction of the possession mechanic means that standard, predictable enemies can suddenly mutate into high-priority threats during a battle. This dynamic threat system forces teams to adapt their strategies mid-fight rather than relying on a single dominant loadout. The expanded weapon pool directly supports this need for tactical versatility on the battlefield. Players wielding trickbows for crowd control must now synergize with frontline fighters using two-handed greatswords to neutralize possessed targets quickly. This mechanical depth indicates that Double Eleven aims to build a more reactive, mathematically complex action RPG experience that will challenge returning veterans. Double Eleven achieves legendary status at MCV Develop Awards.

Double Eleven achieves legendary status at MCV Develop Awards. Double Eleven, one of the world's leading game developers and publishers, has been awarded the prestigious MCV/Develop Legends Award 2026, recognising two decades of exceptional contribution to the games industry. Presented at the MCV Develop Awards ceremony in London earlier this month, the Legends Award is awarded to studios whose innovation, excellence and influence has shaped the industry in a lasting way. Double Eleven's Co-CEO's Mark South and Kimberley Turner accepted the award on behalf of the company, who employ more than 400 people across the UK and Malaysia. Speaking about the win Jamie Sefton, MD of Game Republic said "Double Eleven is a fantastic example of a company that leads global success without losing its regional roots. We are delighted for this win and confirmation of their legendary status and their work is why we are so pleased to have them as our Official Partners too." Founded in 2009, Double Eleven has grown organically into a globally recognised and respected development and publishing studio, all while remaining one of the UK's few remaining independent games companies, despite multiple buy out offers. With a foundation of trust, technical expertise and creative ambition, Double Eleven has established itself as a co development powerhouse across the world. Success at Double Eleven isn't measured by targets and growth, and the company has long been committed to creating rewarding careers in the region, focussing on allowing talented developers to build meaningful careers without the need to relocate to major cities. They establish an environment where people can thrive both professionally and personally, not being expected to sacrifice a life outside of the studio. Winning the Legends awards reaffirms that this commitment remains true, unpinned by a simple belief that if you look after your people, anything is possible. Boasting an annual turnover in excess of £50m, in an increasingly crowded market, co-development remains the company's core DNA. Double Eleven established itself as a trusted partner and has worked with some of the most recognised publishers and developers in the industry, including Obsidian Entertainment, Mojang, Bethesda Game Studios, and Rockstar Games. Teams have played their part in globally successful IPs, including Minecraft Dungeons, and upcoming sequel Minecraft Dungeons II, Fallout 76, Red Dead Redemption and Facepunch studio's smash it, Rust Console Edition. The award also acknowledges Double Eleven's commitment to supporting players and the gaming community. Earlier this year, the company made the tough decision to cease active development on its own original IP, Blindfire. While the first person shooter didn't quite reach the commercial success the team had hoped for, Double Eleven committed to keeping the servers online indefinitely, and made the game free to play, as a gift to the community and a testament to the work their insanely talented team had created. Thin player counts meant that early adopters didn't get to experience the game at its full potential, and in a practically unheard of move in the games industry, is working towards refunding those players. Setting a new standard of what player resolution looks like. As the company celebrates its latest award, the focus remains firmly on the future. Double Eleven continues to invest in talent, establishing its own fully accredited in-house Academy. Supporting the wider development community. And in their role in shaping the future of the industry as they continue to build a lasting legacy on game development in both the UK and across the world.
