Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Graduation from a Dental Assistant Training Program and two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination, is required.
  • Knowledge of four-handed chairside dental techniques and dental laboratory equipment is required.
  • The role requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Certification as a Registered Dental Assistant or Certified Dental Assistant is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide four-handed chairside assistance to dental students.
  • Instruct dental students and dental assistant students in four-handed dentistry techniques and infection control.
  • Perform tests and assist with preparing dental castings, dispensing medications and instructions, and performing minor dental and surgical procedures.
  • Ensure the safe use, disposal, and storage of chemicals or hazardous materials.
  • Maintain patient files and charts.
  • Serve as clinic receptionist and clinic cashier.
  • Assist with training and reviewing the work of student employees when needed.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of a foreign language such as Spanish, Korean, or Chinese.
