Electronic Arts (EA) publishes and distributes video games across consoles, PCs, and mobile devices. It creates games and extends their life with live services, such as downloadable content (DLC), in-game purchases, and subscriptions, to keep players engaged over time. Its products are sold as digital downloads and physical copies, with additional value through ongoing content and a subscription plan called EA Play that grants access to a library of games and perks. Compared with competitors, EA blends a broad lineup of genres and platforms with a steady revenue model based on live services and memberships, rather than relying only on initial game launches. Its goal is to inspire the world through play while building stable, recurring income by maintaining active player communities and expanding engagement across geographies.

Report: Battlefield movie said to feature Michael B. Jordan to produce and potentially star. by Alex Co October 3, 2026 2:24 pm in News While MP1st already know a movie adaptation of Call of Duty is in the works and is set to hit theaters in 2028, its main first-person military shooter competitor seems to be following suit, as it's reported that publisher Electronic Arts is nearing a deal for a movie based on the Battlefield franchise. It's said that Warner Bros. Discovery, Amazon MGM Studios, Universal, Netflix, and Sony all submitted bids to craft a movie based on the hit shooter franchise. Grand Theft Auto 6 might be the game almost everyone is talking about, but Warhorse co-founder Martin Klima doesn't really see what all the excitement is about. The latest report states Sony is now the frontrunner, and the project reportedly already has a director and even a star. Battlefield movie to be helmed by Mission Impossible director. Film rag TheWrap has said that Sony Pictures is poised to land the deal for the Battlefield movie, and it's not going to be your low-budget flick, either. It's been reported that the bids for the Battlefield movie rights are shaping up to be the biggest bidding war of the year. Set to direct the film is Christoper McQuarrie, a veteran action filmmaker who is credited with having directed the last four Mission: Impossible movies, Top Gun: Maverick, and more. Jordan (Sinners, Black Panther) is reportedly set to produce and potentially star in the film. Rounding out the producer credits are Jesse Stern of Electronic Arts, Carter Swan of Emerald Neon, Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo, and Elizabeth Raposo of Outlier Society. The Grand Theft Auto franchise has not shied away from controversy since it hit it big with Grand Theft Auto 3, and it seems this will continue with GTA 6. If this pushes through, Battlefield - and even action film fans in general - might be in for something special. Last year, Battlefield 6 managed to outsell Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 in the US, which marks the first time EA's franchise managed to topple a Call of Duty entry in annual US sales. Reportedly, this huge commercial success gave EA the momentum to make a big Hollywood push. Video game to movie/TV adaptations are a big thing at the moment, what with the Sonic movie franchise raking it in, and there's also Nintendo's Super Mario Galaxy reeling in over $760 million in ticket sales in 2026. No word yet on which storyline of the franchise the film will follow - or if at all. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing Battlefield Bad Company brand be the focal point given how much character the game's cast had. Would you be willing to watch a movie based on a Battlefield game? Or would it be too similar to military flicks like Black Hawk Down and the like? In news regarding the latest game in the franchise, Battlefield 6's Season 5 combat updates have been outlined by DICE, as the studio promises more support in 2027. Sony Pictures reportedly in talks to acquire Battlefield film. Michael B. Jordan is on board as a producer but only a possible star. Sony declined to comment on negotiations for the video game adaptation, according to Eurogamer, citing Variety. Sony Pictures is reportedly in talks to acquire a film adaptation of Electronic Arts' Battlefield video game series. Eurogamer reported on October 3, citing Variety, that Sony declined to comment on the negotiations.[1] Polygon had reported earlier that day, citing TheWrap's October 2 report, that Sony won the bidding.[2] Whether an acquisition deal has closed remains unclear. Reports of the project first emerged earlier this year, linking Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning director Christopher McQuarrie and Sinners actor Michael B. Jordan to the film.[2] Eurogamer's account of Variety's reporting says McQuarrie is attached to write, direct and produce, while Jordan is on board as a producer. Jordan could also star, but that depends on several factors, according to Variety.[1] The reported studio selection does not mean production has begun. Polygon says the film is not yet in production, and its plot and release date remain unknown.[2] Competition for another game adaptation. Polygon names Warner Bros. Discovery, Amazon MGM Studios, Universal and Netflix among the other studios reportedly interested in the adaptation.[2] Sony Pictures has already worked with PlayStation Productions on films based on Uncharted, Until Dawn and Gran Turismo. Battlefield would add another video game franchise to its adaptation work.[2]
EA Sports reportedly working on unannounced AAA free-to-play online game. EA Sports appears to be working on an unannounced AAA free-to-play online game, according to job listings for its Shanghai studio. The listings reveal development and live-service details, but the game's name, sport, platforms and release date remain unknown. 30 Sep 2026, 10:49 PM IST 2 min. read Electronic Arts appears to be expanding its EA Sports portfolio with a new unannounced online project, according to a recently published job listing for the company's Shanghai studio. The listing, spotted by Insider Gaming, is for a Client Engineer position supporting an unnamed AAA project under the EA Sports brand. The job description specifically states that the successful candidate will help deliver features and ongoing live-service support for a "AAA free-to-play online title." The vacancy provides one of the clearest indications yet that EA Sports is developing a new free-to-play game designed around an online, live-service model. However, EA has not officially announced the project, and the listing does not reveal its name, sport, release date, or target platforms. - Advertisement - Discover more Gaming Reference & Reviews Esports event tickets The Shanghai-based role will involve developing and maintaining game-client features using C++ and visual scripting, while also working with designers, producers, and other engineers. The position calls for significant development experience, including experience shipping commercial games and supporting live-service titles. There is also a reference to mobile development experience in the listing, although it is described as an additional asset rather than a mandatory qualification. This has led to speculation that the project could be connected to EA's mobile operations. However, the available information does not confirm that the game will be exclusive to smartphones or tablets. EA's Shanghai operations already have connections to several major properties. The company has previously highlighted teams working on EA Sports FC Mobile, as well as other EA technologies and franchises. EA China has also supported projects involving major series such as Apex Legends and Battlefield. The project's EA Sports branding opens several possibilities. It could potentially be related to an existing sports franchise receiving a new online or mobile-focused experience, or it could be an entirely new sports title. At present, there is not enough information to identify which direction EA has chosen. For now, the job posting is best viewed as evidence of active development rather than a formal game announcement. As A 90s Kid notes, the listing establishes that EA Sports is recruiting for a AAA free-to-play online project requiring ongoing live-service development, but does not identify the game's sport or platform. EA has yet to reveal further details about the mysterious project. Until an official announcement arrives, its identity and release plans remain unknown. - Advertisement - Discover more Shooter Games Celebrities & Entertainment News Limited edition games Satyam is a very passionate gaming journalist. EA FC 27 glitches revealed including female players walking out in sports bras and career mode error. *If you click a link in this article, Norwich City News will earn affiliate revenue. Oli Gamp, Digital Sports Reporter Published: 15:04, 28 Sep 2026 Updated: 10:51, 29 Sep 2026 EA FC 27 fans have been left shocked by a glitch in the new edition of the hugely popular series. FC 27 launched on Friday but there have been mixed reviews for the latest instalment. One bizarre bug that fans couldn't look past was female players walking out onto the pitch wearing sports bras and underwear. The issue popped up during the three-day early access period. Players posted screenshots of dressing room moments showing one female star in nothing but a black bra and knickers. For some, the issue also extended to female managers, who could be seen celebrating goals or embracing players while in their underwear. READ MORE IN FOOTBALL Some fans joked it was FC 27's way of competing with the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto 6. One wrote on X in response: "It's clear why FC 27 is rated +16 years old." SunSport has reached out to developers EA Sports for comment. Other users have claimed there have been problems on career mode, including an issue where players hand in transfer requests after being benched for a few games. Saturday 3 October Tuesday 6 October Thursday 12 November Sunday 15 November A similar problem from one gamer saw Tottenham's Mohammed Kudus demand an exit after sitting on the bench in consecutive games - despite having low stamina. Some also said there was a bug where substitute players occasionally "re-organised themselves". And others complained that kits were "too shiny". It is worth noting that EA have released their 1.0.1 day one patch, which promises to deliver eight bug fixes and fine tuning. The latest edition of the game introduces a new semi open-world feature called The Grounds, which allows players to roam around a small town that acts as a central hub. There have also been changes to career mode with a rebuilt transfer market and better player progression. You can buy EA FC 27 here.
The Sims 4 Marketplace has a quality-control problem - despite EA's own quality standards. By Queenie 24 hours ago 12 views The Sims 4 Marketplace is supposed to offer approved, game-ready content from community Makers. However, a growing collection of reported problems is raising questions about its quality control. EA says Maker content is reviewed before it reaches the Marketplace. In fact, its own Maker Program information states that created content is reviewed to make sure it meets quality standards. Yet players are finding texture problems, missing shadows and incorrectly configured objects in paid Maker Packs. Some of these reports have even been verified by EA. A new Maker Pack is already facing texture complaints. One of the latest complaints involves the recently released Note Nook: After School Study Maker Pack by icemunmun. On September 21, a player shared screenshots of the Note Nook Homework Desk on the official EA Forums. They reported that the desk has poor-looking textures across every available swatch. The original EA Forums report includes several in-game screenshots showing the issue. At the moment, this particular complaint has not been verified by EA. Therefore, it remains a player report rather than a confirmed bug. However, it is far from the only quality issue reported with paid Maker content. EA has already verified several visual problems. The official Sims Marketplace bug tracker contains other problems that EA has formally marked as Verified. For example, players reported visible white seams across wallpapers from the Haussmann Walls & Floors Maker Pack by Syboulette. The lines repeat across the wallpaper pattern and affect multiple swatches. Players later reported similar seams on the pack's Chevron Parquet flooring. EA Community Manager EA_Solaire changed the report's status to Verified. That makes this more than a matter of personal taste. EA has acknowledged the issue through its own bug-report system. Hanging plants shipped without shadows. Another verified problem affects the Little Plant & Garden Shop Maker Pack by SixamCC. According to the EA Forums report, all of the pack's hanging plants appear without shadows. The problem affects the objects both indoors and outdoors. Once again, EA reviewed the report and changed its status to Verified. For Build/Buy content, missing shadows can make an object look noticeably disconnected from the environment around it. It is also particularly interesting because shadow maps are specifically listed among the files Build/Buy creators are expected to work with as part of the Maker Program. EA's official application requirements include diffuse, normal, specular and shadow maps for submitted Build/Buy assets. Other Maker Packs have configuration problems too. Not every quality problem is purely visual. A console table from the Soft Minimalism Living Collection by simspancake has a snapping point facing the wrong direction. That means an item placed into that slot can face incorrectly when it snaps into position. EA has also marked this report as Verified. Meanwhile, the Marketplace bug tracker currently lists other verified issues. These include switched black hair swatches in Miiko's Sweet Summer pack and an incorrectly named object in SixamCC's Little Plant & Garden Shop. Individually, these are relatively small errors. Together, however, they raise a larger question about what happens during the Marketplace review process. EA says Maker content must meet quality standards. The important part is that Marketplace content is not presented as ordinary third-party custom content. Makers use official tools and must first pass a technical evaluation before joining the program. EA's own Maker Program information says Maker content is reviewed to make sure it meets quality standards. It also says Makers must successfully complete a technical evaluation before they can participate. EA has separately explained that Makers use official tools to produce Marketplace-ready content which meets technical, quality and content standards before collections are submitted for review. The official Marketplace help page also describes Maker Packs as quality-approved by The Sims team. That makes visible defects in paid Maker Packs harder to dismiss as the normal risks of downloading unofficial custom content. Players are also questioning how quickly Maker bugs get fixed. There is another concern. A recent discussion on the EA Forums points out that many Maker Pack bug reports receive very few votes compared with major Base Game problems. The player highlighted issues including incorrect thumbnails, duplicate swatches, visual wallpaper problems and incorrectly tagged assets. They questioned whether smaller Marketplace reports could struggle to receive attention because EA often uses player votes when prioritising bugs. That does not mean EA is deliberately ignoring Marketplace problems. However, there are already verified Maker Pack bugs sitting on EA's own tracker. Meanwhile, new paid content continues to arrive regularly. So, does The Sims 4 Marketplace have a quality-control problem? There is no evidence that every Maker Pack has problems. Many players use Marketplace content without encountering noticeable issues. However, EA's own bug tracker now contains multiple verified defects across packs from different creators. The newest Note Nook complaint adds another potential example. That matters because players are not simply downloading free custom content at their own risk. Maker Packs are sold through an official EA storefront using Moola, and EA says the content goes through its review process. Players are therefore entitled to expect the finished items to meet the standards EA itself has set. The question now is whether these defects are occasional mistakes slipping through an otherwise effective review process, or a sign that The Sims 4 Marketplace needs stronger quality control before paid content goes live.
