Alma provides a cloud-based Student Information System (SIS) for schools and districts to manage student data and daily workflows. Its platform brings together calendars, standards tracking, rosters, scheduling, curriculum mapping, emergency communications, and standards-based gradebooks, with Google Classroom integration and biographical student–parent portals. It operates on a subscription model and stands out by combining multiple school operations in one flexible system with strong support for standards-based assessment and broad client coverage (independent schools, charters, public districts, and dioceses). Its goal is to give educators easy-to-use tools and real-time data that help improve teaching and student learning outcomes.

Alma has acquired ESP Solutions Group, a provider of education data management and state reporting solutions. The deal extends Alma's connected education platform from schools and districts to state education agencies. ESP brings over 30 years of experience in statewide data collection, validation, and reporting. The company has partnered with school districts and state agencies to improve education data quality and usage. Alma supports education organisations whose data impacts more than six million students. The platform combines student information, teaching and learning, enrolment, communications, payments, analytics, and artificial intelligence into one system. The acquisition expands Alma's team of education experts whilst providing continuity for existing ESP customers. ESP founder Glynn Ligon said joining Alma offers modern technology and greater scale whilst maintaining their commitment to education.
Spring Health has completed its acquisition of Alma, creating what it calls the first lifelong mental health platform. The combination addresses care fragmentation by ensuring continuity when individuals change jobs, age off plans or require different levels of care. Together, the companies now support over 170 million lives globally across employers and health plans. Spring Health's AI-native platform, which has demonstrated 92% member clinical improvement and 52% reduction in mental health claims costs for employers, will integrate with Alma's provider network and payer relationships. Spring Health CEO April Koh and President Dr Adam Chekroud will lead the combined organisation, whilst Alma founder Dr Harry Ritter continues as CEO of Alma within Spring Health. The integration will focus on expanding access for higher acuity needs and reducing administrative burdens for providers.
