About the company

Geneva Trading trades futures, options and other derivatives with its own capital, acting as a market maker that posts prices to buy and sell on exchanges in the US and Europe. Its desks run several styles side by side, from automated market making and high-speed algorithms to relative-value models and discretionary traders who make their own calls. They cover energy, metals, interest rates, farm goods, currencies, stock indexes and digital assets, and Geneva makes money from its own trading gains rather than client fees. The firm was founded in Dublin in 1999 by two Chicago Board of Trade traders and is based in Chicago, with offices in Dublin and London.

What believers are saying

  • Internships lead to jobs: 2027 quant interns earn $55 to $65 an hour, and top performers get full-time offers.
  • Office rules are relaxed: Geneva allows hybrid and remote work, with a typical two office days a week.
  • Geneva is hiring in three countries: its October 2026 job board lists 14 roles across Chicago, Dublin and London.

What critics are saying

  • Discretionary traders earn mostly from profits: base pay is $36,000 to $42,000, plus a cut of trading gains.
  • Perks vary by office: Geneva says not all benefits apply in its international locations.
  • Dublin trading roles are in person: Geneva's quant and graduate trader postings there require office work.

What makes Geneva Trading unique

  • Its leaders came up trading: CEO Rob Creamer joined as a trader in 2001 and has run Geneva since 2010.
  • Geneva also trades off exchanges: it cites over 15 years trading large, privately negotiated over-the-counter blocks.
  • Geneva backs outside trading teams: it recruits traders with proven records and supplies capital, platform and margin support.
