Requirements
  • A Doctor of Pharmacy doctorate or RPh.
  • Knowledge of pharmacokinetic principles for medication dosing.
  • Ability to monitor patients for response to medications.
  • Ability to identify and document sentinel or serious events, near misses, medication errors, and adverse drug reactions in the electronic reporting system.
  • Ability to promote and ensure compliance with the hospital formulary and policies and procedures defined by the P&T Committee.
  • Ability to provide care appropriate to the patient's chronological age, developmental age, social maturity, and cultural background.
  • Registered Pharmacist credential for the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Certification required based on the primary work location.
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds; frequent sitting, standing, and keyboard use. Patient care providers may also need to kneel, bend, squat, and perform CPR.
Responsibilities
  • Assure the appropriateness of drug therapy and compliance with hospital policies.
  • Oversee the distribution of medications throughout TJUH.
  • Support implementation of processes to assure the quality of Pharmacy services.
  • Train staff as assigned, including residents, interns, technicians, and new pharmacists.
  • Precept student pharmacists as assigned, in accordance with the Preceptor Development & Evaluation Program.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of PGY1 Pharmacy Residency.
  • Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook skills.
