Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • A Food Handler’s Certificate or ServSafe Certification is required, or the employee must be willing to obtain one.
  • A Defensive Driving Certificate is required, or the employee must be willing to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of food service and catering operations is required.
  • The ability to safely handle, transport, and serve food in accordance with sanitation standards is required.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills are required.
  • The ability to communicate and work with kitchen staff and event coordinators is required.
  • The physical ability to lift, move, and stand for extended periods is required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and stage events and room setups by coordinating with kitchen staff and university event coordinators, and ensure rooms, equipment, and service areas are ready for events.
  • Deliver catering services by transporting food, beverages, and equipment; provide on-site food and beverage service; and complete timely breakdown, cleanup, and proper sanitation of event spaces and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by cleaning and sanitizing kitchens, storage areas, and service equipment; storing supplies properly; performing basic equipment care; and following university health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • A ServSafe Certificate is preferred.
  • A TiPS Certificate is preferred.
