Responsibilities
  • Lead, hire, and grow a team of engineers, and develop team leads into strategic thinkers rather than technical overseers.

  • Use the product every day, own fixes when issues arise, and move work forward with proposals, prototypes, and demos.
  • Set a fast prototype-and-demo pace that turns ideas into working demos in days rather than months.
  • Lead a codebase restructure for isolation and testability, enabling engineers and agents to ship changes confidently without end-to-end validation for every change.
  • Partner with sibling OS teams and cross-functional leaders to deliver system-level Siri integrations.
  • Drive adoption of agentic coding and AI-driven UI testing across the team.

Thiel says Apple has done "nothing new" since Jobs, yet it is worth $5.1T

PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel says Apple has done "nothing new after Jobs," questioning whether the company's innovation justifies its market value of roughly $5.1 trillion. In an interview with Walter Isaacson, he called Apple a "pure, well-run value stock." Apple's accounts give his view some support. In the first nine months of fiscal 2026, it spent $62.1 billion on share repurchases against $34 billion on research and development, though research spending rose 33% from a year earlier. The business is still growing. Fiscal third-quarter sales rose 16% to $109.4 billion, and services brought in $30.7 billion. Apple shares closed at $347.73 on October 23, up nearly 28% in 2026. The company's next earnings report, on November 2, is the next test for new chief executive officer John Ternus.

Binance's Zhao says $1,999 iPhone Duo will go "unhinged" with crypto traders

Apple released its first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, last week. Binance cofounder Changpeng Zhao predicts crypto traders will use it heavily, saying many iPhones will be "unhinged" by "crypto trenchers." The Duo's 7.6-inch inner display is the largest on any iPhone. It makes long-term price charts for assets like Bitcoin, Ether, and XRP easier to read than on a narrow screen. Last month, Zhao shared a screenshot of a BNB/USDT trading pair on Binance and said the "Duo is pretty good for charting." Binance said in June that it has more than 300 million registered users. The 256GB Duo costs $1,999 in the US.
