  • Demonstrated interest and technical literacy in artificial intelligence, autonomy, uncrewed systems, and edge algorithms, with willingness to challenge established processes.
  • Demonstrated success capturing operational feedback, tactical data, or wargaming findings and converting them into actionable technical, programmatic, or organizational changes.
  • In-depth understanding of U.S. Army operations, Joint Staff planning structures, Combatant Command theater campaigns, and multi-domain operations.
  • A proven track record of authoring persuasive strategic documents and delivering high-stakes briefings to senior military and civilian leadership at O-6, General Officer, or Senior Executive Service level.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Must hold an active Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Champion integration of artificial intelligence, collaborative autonomy, dynamic mesh networking, and automated target recognition into Launched Effects concepts of employment.
  • Identify opportunities to replace slow human-in-the-loop dependencies with resilient autonomous systems.
  • Challenge outdated institutional planning assumptions, rigid requirements, and sluggish fielding processes, advocating for speed-to-fleet and using agile methodologies and modular open systems architectures.
  • Serve as the primary operational nexus between the Launched Effects Product Office, Combatant Commands, Army Service Component Commands, and Centers of Excellence.
  • Synchronize theater-specific operational demands and wargame findings with product office execution.
  • Create and refine concepts of operations for uncrewed loitering munitions, collaborative reconnaissance-strike swarms, and attritable multi-domain launch platforms.
  • Design and coordinate live operational injects, table-top exercises, and major theater demonstrations to test Launched Effects systems in denied or degraded electronic warfare environments and validate operational utility.
  • Prepare executive decision packages, white papers, and risk-trade briefings presenting operational insights and lessons-learned analyses to General Officers, Flag Officers, and Senior Executive Service leaders.
Desired Qualifications
  • Prior service as a Field Grade Officer, Senior Noncommissioned Officer, or civilian operational analyst with staff experience at Division, Corps, Army Service Component Command, or Joint Staff/Combatant Command level (G-3, G-5, J-3, or J-5).
  • Direct operational or technical background with Group 1–3 Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, loitering munitions or One-Way Attack platforms, or air-launched payloads.
  • Experience working with rapid defense innovation hubs such as the Defense Innovation Unit, Rapid Capabilities and Critical Technologies Office, Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Air Force Research Laboratory AFWERX, or industry skunkworks.
