About the company

Texas Instruments designs and makes analog and embedded processing chips, the basic parts inside cars, factory equipment, data centers, and consumer electronics, and it sells one of the broadest chip catalogs in the industry. In 1958, its engineer Jack Kilby built the first integrated circuit, the building block of modern electronics, and later won a Nobel Prize for it. Its analog chips regulate power and convert signals such as sound and heat into data, while its microcontrollers act as small built-in computers, and TI earns money selling both to device makers. It also makes the graphing calculators many students use in math class. Texas Instruments was founded in 1930 and is based in Dallas, Texas.

What believers are saying

  • Cash is flowing again: after factory spending, TI kept $6.5 billion in the year to June 2026, versus $1.8 billion.
  • New plants mean jobs: TI's Sherman, Texas chip plant opened in December 2025, on a site planned for 3,000 jobs.
  • Stock grants pay steady income: TI raised its dividend 7% in September 2026, its 23rd straight yearly increase.

What critics are saying

  • Its closest rival is growing faster: Analog Devices' sales rose 40% in its quarter ended August 2026, versus TI's 23%.
  • Expect merger cost cuts: TI's purchase of wireless chipmaker Silicon Labs, agreed February 2026, targets $450 million in yearly savings.
  • Expect to work on-site: all 835 TI job postings in October 2026 were on-site, with none remote or hybrid.

What makes Texas Instruments unique

  • It controls its own supply: TI makes most chips in its own factories and targets over 95% in-house by 2030.
  • It skips the middlemen: over 80% of TI's 2025 revenue came from direct sales, including its TI.com store, not distributors.
  • Insiders run TI: CEO Haviv Ilan joined in 1999, and CFO Julie Knecht, named June 2026, has 25-plus years there.

The company guided fourth-quarter revenue of $5.80 billion to $6.30 billion and earnings of $2.45 to $2.79 per share. The $6.05 billion revenue midpoint is essentially flat on the previous quarter. Shares trade 17.07% above the $240.23 GF Value estimate, a valuation reference rather than a price target. The next test is whether demand can keep factories busy and support profitability as capacity grows.

Texas Instruments launches TI-Rover BT, a calculator-controlled robot that draws maths equations

Texas Instruments (TI) has launched the TI-Rover BT, a Bluetooth-enabled robotic vehicle that turns algebraic equations into motion on the classroom floor. Students control it with the TI-84 Evo graphing calculator. The vehicle plots curves and shapes from built-in templates. Stepper motors and an onboard pen holder let it draw formulas on paper, making ideas such as continuity and discontinuity visible. An RGB LED can change colour when an ultrasonic ranger detects a nearby object. "The TI-Rover BT is more than a tool; it's a way to make abstract mathematical ideas tangible," said Laura Chambers, president of TI Educational Technology. It is on sale at instructional dealers nationwide. TI plans to add support for the TI-Nspire CX II and TI-Nspire CX II CAS calculators in 2027.

Texas Instruments tops expectations, fueled by industrial recovery and AI.

Texas Instruments tops expectations, fueled by industrial recovery and AI. Texas Instruments reported better-than-expected Q3 results and provided a strong outlook for the remainder of the year, supported by a recovery in industrial demand and the expansion of data centers dedicated to artificial intelligence. The US semiconductor manufacturer expects Q4 revenue of between $5.80bn and $6.30bn, compared with the $5.73bn expected by analysts. EPS is expected between $2.45 and $2.79. The forecast points to improving demand for its analog and embedded components, which are used in automobiles, industrial applications and electronic equipment. Published on 10/22/2026 at 04:00 am EDT MarketScreener.com In Q3, Texas Instruments' revenue rose 28% y-o-y to $6.06bn, exceeding the $5.92bn expected by the market. EPS jumped 77% to $2.62, reflecting the group's improved profitability. Unlike manufacturers of advanced processors such as Nvidia, Texas Instruments focuses on analog chips, which are essential for managing electrical power and processing physical signals in electronic systems. Chief Executive Haviv Ilan also highlighted the group's financial strength, with operating cash flow reaching $9.9bn over the past 12 months. This performance is notably based on its diversified portfolio and the industrial advantages of production using 300-millimeter silicon wafers. Considered an important indicator of the health of the global electronics sector, Texas Instruments is thus confirming favorable momentum, fueled by a recovery in traditional markets and growing investment in artificial intelligence infrastructure.
