About the Job

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline is required.
  • At least 5 years of product management experience, including at least 2–3 years owning developer tools, data APIs, AI/ML platforms, or LLM-adjacent products.
  • Availability and willingness to work across US, EU, and APAC time zones, with flexibility to accommodate distributed teams and international clients.
  • Hands-on API product experience end-to-end, including endpoint design, versioning, authentication flows, rate limiting, developer documentation, and client onboarding.
  • Proven hands-on experience working with large language models, including building products on them, evaluating model outputs, and designing prompt and tool architectures such as Claude, GPT-4, Gemini, or equivalent.
  • Direct experience setting up, connecting, or building a Model Context Protocol server or client, and understanding how tools, resources, and prompts are defined in the protocol.
  • Demonstrated outside-in product development, with decisions shaped by client interviews, API usage data, developer feedback, or real usage patterns rather than internal assumptions.
  • Experience designing tool or function definitions for large language model consumption, including how model context, tool descriptions, and parameter schemas affect agent behavior and output quality.
  • A track record of delivering data or developer products through fast, iterative releases rather than big-bang launches.
  • Practical, hands-on familiarity with Model Context Protocol and large language model tool calling, not just awareness of the concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Define the Model Context Protocol tool taxonomy, including which data capabilities become tools, their inputs and outputs, and names that support natural-language discoverability.
  • Prioritize tool development for internal use cases such as analyst workflows, research, and customer success, and external use cases such as client integrations, developer access, and agentic workflows.
  • Own the product roadmap from version 1 through general availability, including feature gates, versioning, and deprecation policy.
  • Design, document, and validate use cases where large language model-powered clients such as Claude, ChatGPT, and custom agents query Pixalate data through Model Context Protocol.
  • Write structured tool descriptions and parameter schemas that function well as large language model-readable context, accounting for how models interpret tool definitions.
  • Partner with research and data science to prototype agentic workflows and evaluate output quality, hallucination risk, and response structure.
  • Write concise, TL;DR-format product requirements documents with a problem statement, requirements, input/output contracts, and explicit non-goals.
  • Favor small, shippable iterations over large releases and break initiatives into the smallest version that delivers real value quickly.
  • Define and maintain API contracts between the Model Context Protocol server and underlying Pixalate data APIs, including versioning, deprecation, and schema-change protocols.
  • Run structured quality assurance on tool outputs to ensure responses are suitable for large language models, structurally consistent, and free of schema drift.
  • Own the product model for external authentication through OAuth 2.0 or API keys and capability-scoped access, defining what each client tier can query.
  • Collaborate with security and engineering to ensure external Model Context Protocol deployments meet compliance and data-governance requirements.
  • Own developer-facing documentation, including tool reference documentation, quickstart guides, example prompts, and integration guides for Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor.
  • Define the self-serve onboarding flow for external clients connecting to the Pixalate Model Context Protocol server.
  • Gather feedback from early adopters and translate it into prioritized improvements.
  • Work across US, EU, and APAC time zones by scheduling syncs, reviews, and asynchronous communication with global engineering and client-facing teams.
  • Own asynchronous-first communication by writing updates that allow stakeholders across time zones to act without follow-up calls.
  • Adapt availability around global milestones, including external client launches, engineering sprints, and partner reviews across multiple geographies.
