Introducing the industry's first low outgassing flexible lead wire encapsulation for Spaceflight heaters.

Introducing the industry's first low outgassing flexible lead wire encapsulation for Spaceflight heaters. New Standard for Spaceflight Thermal Control Spaceflight hardware is expected to perform flawlessly in some of the harshest environments ever encountered. Every component - from propulsion systems to batteries, optics, instruments, and avionics - must withstand extreme temperatures, launch vibration, vacuum, and years of operation without failure. To help engineers meet these demanding requirements, Minco is introducing a new flexible lead wire encapsulation option for Thermofoil(TM) all-polyimide flexible heaters. This innovative design is available exclusively from Minco and has been approved to NASA S-311-P-841, providing aerospace engineers with a qualified solution for critical spaceflight applications. Built on decades of experience supporting space programs, this new technology simplifies qualification efforts while providing mounting on curved surfaces with improved reliability where it matters most. Developed in Collaboration with NASA Achieving approval for hardware intended for spaceflight requires extensive engineering, testing, and documentation. Minco worked closely with NASA throughout the development and qualification process to ensure the flexible termination encapulation met the requirements of NASA S-311-P-841, the agency's specification governing flexible electric resistance heaters used in spaceflight. This collaborative effort resulted in a lead termination technology that satisfies demanding mechanical and environmental requirements while providing engineers with greater confidence during spacecraft development. The result is a heater solution designed specifically for the unique challenges of space. Why Lead Terminations Matter While heater performance is often measured by watt density or temperature capability, the lead termination is one of the most critical areas affecting long-term reliability. Traditional rigid lead exits can concentrate mechanical stress where wires leave the heater when mounting on a non-planar surface. During integration, installation, launch vibration, or thermal cycling, these stress concentrations can become potential failure points. Minco's new flexible lead wire encapulation is engineered to: * Allow lead terminations to better conform to non-planar mounting surfaces * Reduce mechanical stress at the lead exit * Improve durability during handling and installation * Better accommodate flexing and movement * Increase reliability during thermal cycling * Support demanding aerospace qualification requirements For spacecraft designers, these improvements help reduce risk in one of the heater's most critical mechanical interfaces. Qualified for Demanding Space Missions The flexible lead wire encapsulation option is available on Minco's proven Thermofoil(TM) All-Polyimide Flexible Heaters, which offer: * Operating temperatures from -200°C to +260°C * Watt densities up to 50 W/in[2] * Lightweight, low-profile construction * Excellent thermal uniformity * Custom geometries for complex spacecraft components * NASA S-311-P-841 approved construction These heaters are commonly integrated into: * Satellite electronics * Battery thermal management * Optical instruments * Scientific payloads * Propulsion systems * Spacecraft mechanisms * Communication equipment * Deep-space exploration hardware Reducing Qualification Risk Space programs face increasing pressure to shorten development schedules while maintaining mission assurance. Using heater technology that has already been developed and approved to NASA requirements can help engineering teams streamline qualification planning and reduce technical risk. Because the flexible lead wire encapulation has already been approved to NASA S-311-P-841, engineers can begin their designs using a proven construction specifically intended for spaceflight applications. Exclusively from Minco Minco has supported the aerospace industry for decades by delivering precision thermal solutions for some of the world's most demanding missions. The new flexible lead wire encapulation represents another advancement in that commitment - combining innovative engineering with rigorous qualification to provide spacecraft designers with greater confidence in their thermal control systems. Available exclusively from Minco, this technology expands the company's portfolio of space-qualified flexible heaters and demonstrates its continued investment in solving the unique challenges of the space industry. Whether you're designing hardware for Low Earth Orbit, lunar missions, deep-space exploration, or next-generation commercial spacecraft, Minco can help develop a thermal solution tailored to your application.
