About the Job

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, building services engineering, facilities engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 6 years in mechanical engineering, facilities operations or critical infrastructure, with substantial experience in data centers, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, industrial or other mission-critical environments.
  • Hands-on depth in chilled water plants, cooling towers, computer room air handler and computer room air conditioner units, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, building management system controls, fire protection interfaces and mechanical redundancy.
  • Practical liquid cooling experience, including cooling distribution units, direct-to-chip systems, rear door heat exchangers, secondary water loops, leak detection, water treatment and operational risk management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical failures, lead root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
  • Experience with commissioning, integrated systems testing, operational readiness, maintenance strategy development and live site change management.
  • Internal and external stakeholder management, including communicating technical and operational issues to different audiences; constructively challenging teams and vendors when recommendations are not data-supported; and delivering sustainable solutions through written standards, knowledge transfer and capability building.

Responsibilities

  • Own regional operational readiness for liquid cooling, including cooling distribution units, secondary loops, manifolds, heat exchangers, leak detection, water quality, commissioning support and maintenance procedures.
  • Set maintenance strategy, risk controls and operating standards for high-density cooling, including direct-to-chip, rear door heat exchangers and hybrid air-liquid architectures.
  • Write and maintain the regional liquid cooling playbook as technology develops.
  • Set operating standards, maintenance practice, risk controls and performance expectations for mechanical operations across Southeast Asia.
  • Provide second-level escalation support to site operations and facilities teams for chilled water systems, computer room air handler and computer room air conditioner units, cooling towers, pumps, valves, controls and fire protection interfaces.
  • Own regional mechanical standards, Basis of Design review and maintenance playbooks.
  • Improve mechanical reliability through preventive and predictive maintenance, failure trend analysis, root cause investigation and corrective action tracking.
  • Improve energy efficiency, power usage effectiveness, water usage, cooling capacity, redundancy and lifecycle cost without compromising uptime.
  • Take new capacity through commissioning and integrated systems testing, operational readiness and live operation, with cooling resilience and maintainability designed in.
  • Hold original equipment manufacturers, service providers, consultants and contractors to maintenance quality, technical compliance and safe execution in live data center environments.
  • Ensure mechanical work complies with local regulation, health and safety, environmental obligations, permit-to-work requirements and DayOne operational risk controls.
  • Build regional capability in chilled water, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, and liquid cooling operations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with regional programs, multi-site management or technical governance across complex operations.
  • Background in semiconductor, pharmaceutical, industrial or other mission-critical environments.
  • Mandarin language skills alongside English.
  • Previous team leadership or professional certification.
