Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent certification program is required.
  • Completion of an accredited electrocardiography school or program is required to demonstrate certification.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Successful completion of a basic electrocardiogram interpretation course is required.
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required.
  • Must be physically able to walk through nursing units while maneuvering the EKG cart.
  • Must be capable of performing electrocardiograms on patients of all ages.
  • Must possess clerical skills to complete charge sheets and track daily work volume.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English sufficiently to perform job duties.
Responsibilities
  • Perform electrocardiograms to capture detailed tracings of the heart’s electrical signals.
  • Support the Cardiovascular Coordinator by providing accurate and timely EKG results.
  • Apply specialized knowledge and training to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Deliver services to a diverse patient population, ranging from newborns to elderly individuals.
  • Maintain competency in EKG procedures and adapt techniques to meet age-specific needs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certification in electrocardiography is preferred.
