About the company

Mikata Health builds a patient engagement platform for medical clinics in Canada. It connects with existing Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to automate administrative and clinical workflows, tackling issues like high call volumes, patient no-shows, and staff burnout by handling appointment booking, reminders, patient check-ins, and pre-visit instructions. The product works as a B2B suite of customizable tools that clinics can integrate into their existing systems; it automates patient outreach, triage, and ongoing communication to improve patient engagement and clinic efficiency. Compared with competitors, Mikata Health emphasizes EMR integration, workflow automation, and a customizable toolkit tailored to each clinic’s needs, helping healthcare teams reduce administrative tasks and focus more on patient care. The company's goal is to reduce administrative burden, improve patient engagement, streamline clinic workflows, and minimize missed appointments to protect revenue.

What believers are saying

  • Government of Northwest Territories launched a 2026 AI scribe pilot using Mikata.
  • Nova Scotia's 2025 Infoway-backed pilot still offers Mika, widening provincial references.
  • Mikata's August 2026 product pages advertise a 24/7 AI receptionist.

What critics are saying

  • Heidi, ambient-scribe startups, and EMR vendors commoditize the same workflow quickly.
  • Coming Fall 2026 receptionist launch creates execution risk if call handling fails.
  • A serious documentation error or privacy incident kills the brand.

What makes Mikata Health unique

  • Mikata combines AI scribing, booking, and receptionist workflows inside one Canadian clinic platform.
  • It integrates directly with TELUS MedAccess, PS Suite, and QHR Accuro.
  • Bilingual English-French support and Canadian positioning fit PHIPA-heavy provincial buying.
