Manufacturing Engineering Technician
About the job
- A technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is required.
- Zero to two years of experience in manufacturing engineering is required.
- Experience with computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD is required.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards and safety protocols is required.
- Willingness to learn and apply new skills in a manufacturing setting is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail are required.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are required.
- The ability to follow instructions and complete tasks accurately is required.
- Assist in optimizing assembly processes to meet quality and efficiency standards.
- Support the development and updating of work instructions and standard operating procedures to ensure consistent production practices.
- Conduct time studies and develop routings as needed to establish standard work times and improve production planning.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of manufacturing processes, including work instructions and process flow diagrams.
- Support quality assurance efforts by monitoring production processes and participating in root cause analysis for defects or issues.
- Contribute to engineering projects, including process validations, capacity analysis, and production trials, under the direction of senior engineers.
- Assist in coordinating project tasks, preparing technical reports, and documenting project outcomes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support implementation of new manufacturing technologies and process changes.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and improve production outcomes.
- Collect and analyze production-performance data to identify areas for improvement.
- Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Theory of Constraints, and other improvement methodologies.
- Work closely with engineers to gain hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, including process design, optimization, and quality control.
- Assist in creating training programs for operators and design engineers on process curriculum.
