Harju Elekter sells part of Skeleton Technologies stake to Siemens for $6.4M

Harju Elekter Group will sell part of its stake in Skeleton Technologies Group OÜ to Siemens International Holding B.V. for €5.7 million. The deal is expected to close this year. Harju Elekter first invested in the energy storage and supercapacitor developer in 2015. Skeleton has since grown into one of Europe's leading energy storage technology developers. The sale lets Harju Elekter fully recover its initial investment with a moderate return. It also gives the group more financial flexibility to fund future investment, growth, and dividends. Harju Elekter will stay a shareholder in Skeleton. It sees a possible full exit during 2028, subject to suitable opportunities and conditions.

Siemens invests in Skeleton Technologies in exclusive supercapacitor deal for AI data centres

Siemens has made a strategic investment in Skeleton Technologies and formed an exclusive partnership with the company, expanding its data centre portfolio. Skeleton makes high-power energy storage systems, specialising in supercapacitors that manage power spikes and peak shaving. Siemens has backed Skeleton as a technology partner since 2022 and as an investor since 2023. The deal adds supercapacitor technology to Siemens' electrical infrastructure offering for data centres, where nine of the top 10 global providers are customers. Peter Koerte, a member of the managing board of Siemens AG, said the move helps operators add AI capacity faster without waiting years for new grid infrastructure. Skeleton chief executive officer Taavi Madiberk said the company plans to become the world's largest provider of white-space power systems for AI data centres. The transactions await customary completion formalities.

Siemens and Galp Energia to digitalise renewable hydrogen project.

Siemens and Galp Energia to digitalise renewable hydrogen project. Published: 9 October 2026 Siemens and Galp Energia are collaborating to digitalise GalpH2Park in Sines, Portugal. Once operations commence, the plant will be one of Europe's largest renewable hydrogen plants For the 100MW hydrogen facility in the first project phase, Siemens is deploying its hydrogen-industry software portfolio to enable smarter operations and optimise the plant's value. Digital twin. Siemens' Hydrogen Performance Suite (HPS), an advanced digital cockpit designed to continuously enhance renewable hydrogen plant operations, is central to the collaboration. The HPS features a predictive Digital Process Twin, a high-fidelity model built on physics-based modelling that delivers operational insights through real-time optimisation for faster, data-driven decision-making. To power the digital twin, Siemens deploys an integrated software stack for process modelling, data analytics, and real-time visualisation, translating plant data into insights for operators. By integrating the digital twin with live plant data and external sources, such as grid operators and energy markets, the HPS gives Galp's operators end-to-end visibility into their facility, enabling smarter production scheduling and optimised energy procurement. Siemens estimates that the HPS can deliver energy savings up to 15%, a significant lever for cost competitiveness and sustainability. Axel Lorenz, executive vice president, Automation Process Industries at Siemens, said, "GalpH2Park is a lighthouse for Europe's energy transition. We are convinced that digital innovation is the key to making renewable hydrogen economically viable and accelerating the decarbonization of industry. Siemens is turning this ambition into industrial reality, at scale." Reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Powered by renewable electricity sourced through long-term supply agreements and Galp's renewable generation capacity, the GalpH2Park plant can produce up to 15,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen per year. This is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 110,000 tonnes of CO2, contributing to Portugal's and Europe's decarbonisation targets.

Amut adopts Siemens Industrial Edge platform.

Amut adopts Siemens Industrial Edge platform. 2026-10-08 Amut has implemented Siemens Industrial Edge to collect, manage and analyse production data across its plants. The platform is intended to improve operational visibility, predictive maintenance and plant reliability. Amut has adopted the Siemens Industrial Edge platform as part of its digital transformation roadmap for recycling and plastics processing plants. The implementation is designed to improve the collection, management and analysis of production data, in response to industry requirements concerning sustainability, operational efficiency and process innovation. By bringing data processing capabilities directly to the production floor, the infrastructure supports real-time acquisition and analysis of information generated by plant operations. The platform is intended to meet industrial requirements for cybersecurity and the secure handling of operational data. According to Amut, it is designed to protect critical infrastructure against external threats and internal vulnerabilities. The investment also supports the company's objective of developing smarter, more efficient and more reliable solutions for recycling and plastics processing, while providing customers with data that can be used in day-to-day plant management. Real-time access to operating data. Amut's digital strategy has two principal objectives. The first is to make production data directly useful to customers by providing real-time visibility into energy consumption, production performance and key performance indicators, or KPIs. Advanced analytics and continuous monitoring are intended to give operators immediate insight into plant conditions. Access to this information can help users identify optimisation opportunities, improve operating efficiency and make decisions based on current production data. The platform is also intended to increase transparency by presenting information on plant performance and asset operation in a form that can support production management. The second objective is to improve plant reliability and make maintenance more effective and proactive. Advanced fault detection and diagnostic tools allow operators to identify potential issues before they develop into critical failures. This predictive approach is intended to reduce unplanned downtime and production interruptions. Earlier identification of developing faults can also support more targeted maintenance interventions. Instead of relying only on scheduled work or responding after a failure, maintenance teams can use operating data to determine when and where intervention may be required. Amut expects this approach to improve asset performance and the efficiency of maintenance activities throughout the plant lifecycle. Through the integration of Siemens Industrial Edge into its solutions, Amut aims to convert production data into operational information that can support efficiency, reliability and sustainability. The company states that it will continue developing digital technologies intended to provide measurable benefits throughout the full lifecycle of its recycling and plastics processing plants.
