Once Upon a Farm beats Q1 revenue estimates, plans 5,000 coolers by year-end

Once Upon a Farm, the organic baby food company co-founded by actress Jennifer Garner, reported first-quarter revenue that beat estimates following its February IPO, though losses widened to $0.59 per share. The company grew revenue 44% and raised its full-year guidance. CEO John Foraker attributed the strong performance to expansion of refrigerated coolers in baby aisles, which proved 11% more productive in Q1 than the previous quarter. The company expects to have 5,000 coolers installed by year-end, up from 3,700 currently. Foraker described the brand as "fairly inelastic", suggesting parents prioritise spending on children's food even during economic downturns. The company expanded gross margins through supply chain productivity improvements rather than price increases.
