Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college, university, or technical school is required.
  • Ten years of related experience and/or training in quality supervision or manufacturing is required.
  • Working knowledge of part layout, statistical process control, engineering specifications, IATF 16949, and manufacturing operations is required.
  • Working knowledge of automotive customer portals is required.
Responsibilities
  • Support plant safety procedures and safety policies.
  • Conduct daily safety audits to ensure employee safety.
  • Establish and track quality department goals and objectives, including key performance indicators.
  • Determine quality department standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Track external customer quality rejections and internal quality concerns.
  • Track supplier quality issues and performance.
  • Direct lab personnel regarding performance and material testing.
  • Assist in the daily review of production quality performance.
  • Assist production and maintenance in achieving effective and efficient production of quality parts.
  • Schedule and chair regular quality review meetings to appraise management of quality issues and ensure the suitability and effectiveness of the quality system.
  • Work with engineering to develop project launch strategy, capital needs, and program timing in support of Advanced Product Quality Planning, Production Part Approval Process, Measurement Systems Analysis, and ISO 9001/IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Work with quality engineers and technicians to document quality trends and compare them against customer standards and plant goals.
  • Support advanced quality activities, elements, and schedules.
  • Represent the Conneaut plant at the customer in the area of quality.
  • Develop short- and long-term strategy to support customer requirements as required.
  • Manage safety as an equal to other key functions.
  • Monitor departmental action items to ensure timely and effective correction of issues.
  • Deliver department and assigned plant key performance indicators.
  • Prepare the plant-level monthly quality report for Corporate Quality.
  • Develop the overall Quality department goals and plan.
  • Maintain employee training and development plans and status reports.
  • Conduct annual employee performance reviews.
  • Maintain customer issue and corrective action logs.
  • Maintain process alert and nonconformance rejection logs.
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Class A exterior body panels is preferred.
