About the Job

Requirements

  • Be a penultimate-year student, or a final-year student planning to continue to a one-year master’s course.
  • Hold permanent authorization to work in the United States; candidates on student visas are not eligible.
  • Be available for full-time work throughout the 12-week program, from June to early September.
  • Have an interest in AI technologies and previous experience building AI agents and automated workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Own a well-defined team project from problem definition through delivery.
  • Build and test AI agents, copilots, and automated workflows that perform meaningful, multi-step work.
  • Connect agents to trusted data, services, and internal tools using approaches such as retrieval, tool calling, and orchestration, and help define when an agent can act autonomously or should hand work to a person.
  • Evaluate whether the work performs well, check reliability and failure modes, and improve it using real feedback.
  • Use AI coding tools daily and validate their output through testing, review, and independent judgment.
  • Write clean, well-tested, documented code; participate in code reviews; and collaborate with engineers, mentors, and cross-functional partners.

Desired Qualifications

  • Be currently enrolled in a degree program in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Have proficiency in Python, ideally supported by projects, open-source work, or hackathon work beyond coursework.
  • Have hands-on experience building an LLM-powered or agentic system that performs multi-step work, ideally used by someone other than the candidate.
  • Be familiar with agentic patterns such as grounding and retrieval, tool use, orchestration, memory, or conversational interfaces.
  • Demonstrate engineering judgment by checking AI-generated work, understanding potential failures, and recognizing when simple automation or human review is preferable.
  • Have a solid grounding in computer science fundamentals such as data structures, algorithms, and operating systems or networking concepts.
  • Be able to break down ambiguous problems and deliver in small steps, with strong problem-solving and technical communication abilities.
  • Show a proactive approach to continuous learning and fast iteration.
  • Have experience with AI and automation tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, MCP servers, custom skills, or agent frameworks; be able to direct an agent, verify its output, and ramp up on an unfamiliar codebase with agent assistance.
