JetBlue announces first-class upgrades, new elite benefits for 2027.

JetBlue announces first-class upgrades, new elite benefits for 2027. The cards The Points Guy, LLC feature here are from partners who compensate The Points Guy, LLC when you are approved through its site, and this may impact how or where these products appear. The Points Guy, LLC don't cover all available credit cards, but its analysis, reviews, and opinions are entirely from its editorial team. Terms apply to the offers listed on this page. Please view its advertising policy and product review methodology for more information. Quick summary. * JetBlue is introducing its new domestic first-class cabin, BlueFirst, with complimentary unlimited upgrades for all elite status members when seats are available. * Upgrade priority is based on elite tier, with higher-status members given preference, and one companion may also upgrade. * Premium Upgrade Certificates will replace previous upgrade certificates, usable for both BlueFirst and Mint cabins, with the number required varying by flight. * JetBlue is updating its "Perks You Pick" menu, adding new benefits such as lounge passes and exclusive options for premium cardholders, while removing some previous perks in 2027. What to consider. * Complimentary upgrades are not available on basic fares or EvenMore fares, and premium cardholders without status must pay with their card to be eligible. * Upgrade certificates can be redeemed after booking, up to two hours before departure, but are subject to availability and dynamic certificate requirements. * Some perks, such as pet fee waivers and certain statement credits, will be discontinued or restructured starting in 2027. What you'll miss from the article. * A detailed breakdown of upgrade processes, new perk options and how the revamped loyalty program compares to previous years. Generated by AI with support from its editorial team. And with those "BlueFirst" seats now on sale, the carrier is offering some long-promised details about what upgrades will look like for elite status members. All TrueBlue Mosaic members will be eligible for unlimited complimentary upgrades to the first-class cabin - when seats are available, of course. That's on par with the upgrade policies at other full-service U.S. carriers. Flyers who carry the JetBlue Premier Card, the carrier's premium credit card, will also be eligible. The information for the JetBlue Premier Card has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer. Heading into 2027, JetBlue is also revamping the confirmable upgrade certificates members can earn as they climb the status ladder. Plus, there are some changes to the choice perks TrueBlue members can claim, known as "Perks You Pick." Many of these changes will take effect Feb. 1. However, upgrades into BlueFirst will begin as soon as those seats start appearing on planes. Here's what to know. Status qualification remains unchanged. First things first, JetBlue won't change the elite status qualification requirements. In 2027, TrueBlue members will need the same number of "tiles" to reach the four Mosaic tiers. * Mosaic 1: 50 tiles * Mosaic 2: 100 tiles * Mosaic 3: 150 tiles * Mosaic 4: 250 tiles As always, travelers can earn tiles (JetBlue's status metric) a few ways, including by flying and spending on eligible cobranded credit cards. First-class upgrades on JetBlue: What to know. The biggest change to JetBlue Mosaic status in 2027 involves upgrades. That's thanks to the debut of BlueFirst, which is slated to start appearing on the first planes in December. The new front cabin will allow the airline to introduce complimentary, space-available upgrades to its loyalty members for the first time. How complimentary BlueFirst upgrades will work. JetBlue passengers eligible for upgrades can clear the queue up to an hour before departure. When there are empty seats, here is how the upgrade priority will shake out: * Mosaic 4 members * Mosaic 3 members * Mosaic 2 members * Mosaic 1 members * JetBlue Premier cardholders without status A few additional points to know: * Mosaic members will be allowed one companion who can upgrade into BlueFirst, too. * Travelers who book "base" (basic) main cabin or EvenMore fares will not be eligible for an upgrade. * JetBlue Premier cardholders without status must pay for their trip with their JetBlue Premier card to be eligible for a BlueFirst upgrade. Which planes will get BlueFirst? JetBlue plans to install the domestic-style BlueFirst cabin on all of its planes that don't have Mint (its lie-flat, business-class cabin). The airline will not offer standard complimentary upgrades into Mint. Upgrade certificates get revamped. High-level TrueBlue status members will also have the option to confirm an upgrade after booking a flight. Historically, JetBlue has offered higher-tier Mosaic members an allotment of "Move to Mint" certificates that were good for a spot in the airline's long-haul business cabin. Premium Upgrade Certificates. Going forward, "Move to Mint" will be rebranded as "Premium Upgrade Certificates," which travelers can use in either Mint or BlueFirst. * Mosaic 3 members automatically receive four Premium Upgrade Certificates upon reaching 150 tiles. * Mosaic 4 members automatically receive four additional certificates upon hitting 250 tiles. Members can select additional Premium Upgrade Certificates from JetBlue's menu of "Perks You Pick." That option begins at Mosaic 2. How many Premium Upgrade Certificates for a seat? JetBlue's Premium Upgrade Certificates can be applied any time after booking, up to two hours before departure. As always, redeeming upgrade certificates is subject to availability. Let The Points Guy, LLC help find the best card for you. Get personalized card matches to maximize your earning potential. Let's get started. The number of certificates you'll need for a confirmed upgrade will fluctuate dynamically from one flight to another, as shown in the carrier's published graphic. New Perks You Pick. Beyond upgrades, JetBlue revamped its menu of "Perks You Pick." These are the additional, optional benefits that members unlock as they gain higher status. New additions to the list include one-time passes to JetBlue's new BlueHouse lounges in New York City and Boston (only top-tier Mosaic 4 status unlocks a full lounge membership). Plus, the carrier is offering some new exclusive perk options for its Premier cardholders. | Mosaic threshold | Benefit choices | | 10, 20, 30 and 40 tiles (pre-status milestones) | At each of those milestones, options include: * 1,000 bonus TrueBlue points * 2-tile bonus * Group 3 boarding on next JetBlue flight * Alcoholic drink pass * Priority security | | Mosaic 1 | * 10,000 bonus points * 10-tile bonus * 10-tile head start for the following status year * One BlueHouse lounge pass New option for JetBlue Premier cardholders: Gift a 10-tile bonus | | Mosaic 2 | * 10,000 bonus points * 10-tile bonus * 10-tile head start for the following year * BlueHouse lounge pass * One Premium Upgrade Certificate New option for JetBlue Premier cardholders: Gift Mosaic 1 status | | Mosaic 3 | * 20,000 bonus points * 20-tile bonus * 20-tile head start for the following year * One BlueHouse lounge pass * One Premium Upgrade Certificate (on top of the four certificates automatically earned with Mosaic 3 status) New options for JetBlue Premier cardholders: * Gift Mosaic 2 status * Up to $500 statement credit when booking a companion's flight on JetBlue | | Mosaic 4 | * 30,000 bonus points * 30-tile head start for the following year * One BlueHouse lounge pass (on top of the BlueHouse membership that comes with Mosaic 4 status) * One Premium Upgrade Certificate (on top of the 4 certificates that come with Mosaic 4 status) * Gift Mosaic 3 status * Gift a BlueHouse lounge membership New option for JetBlue Premier cardholders: * Up to $1,500 statement credit on a companion travel booking | Some details that are important to know: * You get one pick at each tile threshold. * JetBlue will now allow you to choose a benefit more than once. A few past Perks You Pick will disappear in 2027, including: * Mint Studio suite priority * $99 statement credit on eligible JetBlue credit cards * FoundersCard membership * IHG One Rewards elite status * Pet fee waiver (That will now become a signature perk starting at Mosaic 2 status) Related reading:

JetBlue will offer unlimited free first class upgrades to Mosaic elites.

JetBlue will offer unlimited free first class upgrades to Mosaic elites. * Updated: 2 days ago * Published: 2 days ago In December 2026, JetBlue will finally start rolling out its new first class product, which will eventually be installed on aircraft without the carrier's Mint business class. The airline had indicated that elite members would be eligible for complimentary space available upgrades to this product, and One Mile At A Time now have all the details (note that this is separate from being able to use Premium Upgrade Certificates to upgrade to BlueFirst in advance). In this post: How JetBlue's first class upgrades for elites will work. JetBlue will introduce unlimited complimentary space available first class upgrades, coinciding with the airline rolling out first class: * Complimentary upgrades will be available to all TrueBlue Mosaic elite members, as well as those with the JetBlue Premier Card, including authorized users, even if they don't have elite status (this assumes they pay for the trip with the card) * Upgrades will also be available for up to one companion traveling on the same reservation (reservations with three or more people on them won't be eligible for upgrades, even for the member) * Upgrades will start clearing on a space available basis 60 minutes before departure, in the order that members are listed on the upgrade list * In order to be upgrade eligible, passengers must book an eligible fare, including Main, Main Flex, EvenMore, or EvenMore Flex, whether booked with cash or points; this means only Main Base and EvenMore Base fares are excluded * There's no need to request an upgrade, as eligible members will automatically be added to the upgrade waitlist * The JetBlue app will have an upgrade waitlist, where travelers can see their position on the list * United MileagePlus Premier members are not eligible for upgrades on JetBlue, despite the partnership between the two airlines Below is a chart with the order in which JetBlue upgrades will clear. Within each group, JetBlue upgrade priority will further be determined with the following order: * Using a JetBlue credit card to pay for your trip * Purchase of an EvenMore fare (excluding EvenMore Base) * Tiles earned during the current program year This is a huge boost to the value of JetBlue TrueBlue. I think JetBlue's introduction of first class will materially improve the carrier's performance over time. Now, I do think a trip into Chapter 11 bankruptcy is almost inevitable, given that the carrier is approaching a staggering $10 billion in debt, and that's just not going to be serviceable in the long run. But in terms of operating performance and the overall revenue from JetBlue TrueBlue, I think the full rollout of first class will be the start of a change for JetBlue: * JetBlue is efficiently reconfiguring its planes to reduce legroom in standard economy while adding a new premium seating option, so this should result in a significant revenue boost per flight * Introducing first class upgrades will make it more tempting to go for JetBlue TrueBlue status, and it's also smart how JetBlue is making upgrades a credit card perk * When you combine this with JetBlue now having lounges in Boston (BOS) and New York (JFK), there's a lot more potential to actually win premium travel Now, some might be frustrated that upgrades will clear only at most 60 minutes before departure, while other airlines offer upgrades days in advance. That's fair, though to be realistic: * How often do upgrades really clear at the initial upgrade window with American, Delta, and United, if they clear at all? * JetBlue's first class cabins will be quite small, and with so much of the carrier's network being centered up and down the East Coast, I think the airline will have no problem selling most of these seats * If you're only going to upgrade one or two people, I actually think it's sort of fair to wait until 60 minutes before departure, so that you don't penalize those who book expensive, last minute economy tickets Bottom line. JetBlue is rolling out unlimited first complimentary first class upgrades for elite members and those with the carrier's most premium credit card. Upgrades will be available for companions as well, and only basic fares won't qualify. Upgrades will clear 60 minutes before departure, and the upgrade priority is roughly what you'd expect, with the Mosaic tier being the top factor determining eligibility, followed by use of a JetBlue credit card, booking an EvenMore fare, and then the number of Tiles earned. Bilt adds JetBlue TrueBlue as a 1:1 transfer partner.

Bilt adds JetBlue TrueBlue as a 1:1 transfer partner. Oct. 20, 2026 The cards The Points Guy, LLC feature here are from partners who compensate The Points Guy, LLC when you are approved through its site, and this may impact how or where these products appear. The Points Guy, LLC don't cover all available credit cards, but its analysis, reviews, and opinions are entirely from its editorial team. Terms apply to the offers listed on this page. Please view its advertising policy and product review methodology for more information. Editor's note. TPG founder Brian Kelly is a Bilt adviser and investor. Bilt just added JetBlue TrueBlue as its 27th transfer partner, calling it "one of the most requested transfer partners" among its members. Now, Bilt members can transfer points to JetBlue TrueBlue at a 1:1 ratio via the Bilt app or website once they link their TrueBlue account with their Bilt account. You can transfer in increments of 1,000 points, so every 1,000 Bilt Points that you transfer to JetBlue becomes 1,000 TrueBlue points. Bilt Blue members must transfer at least 2,000 points per transfer, while other Bilt members must transfer at least 1,000 points per transfer. Bilt says "transfers will complete almost instantly," so you can transfer shortly before redeeming TrueBlue points for an award flight. Continue learning how to maximize your points and miles with its. Interestingly, this news comes less than a week after Rove added JetBlue TrueBlue as a transfer partner. Now you can transfer the following transferable rewards to JetBlue TrueBlue: * American Express Membership Rewards points: 5:4 ratio * Bilt points: 1:1 ratio * Capital One miles: 5:3 ratio * Chase Ultimate Rewards points: 1:1 ratio * Citi ThankYou Rewards points: Up to 1:1 ratio (depending on your card) * Rove miles: 1:1 ratio * Wells Fargo Rewards points: 1:1 ratio Bilt's 1:1 transfer ratio matches the best standard ratio offered by several other transferable rewards programs. However, Rove is offering a 20% bonus on eligible transfers to JetBlue through Nov. 14, temporarily giving members 1,200 TrueBlue points for every 1,000 Rove miles transferred. JetBlue TrueBlue uses a dynamic award pricing model for its own flights. You can redeem TrueBlue points for any JetBlue-operated flight, although the number of points required generally tracks the paid fare. In the above example, you could book a main standard seat for $149 or 10,400 points plus $5.60. This would give you a redemption rate of 1.38 cents per point, which is typical. Book the same flight for way fewer points Point.me finds award flights for a fraction of the points. Subscribe to the TPG Daily to get an exclusive offer on a premium annual plan. However, that doesn't necessarily make JetBlue the best use of Bilt points. TPG's October 2026 valuations peg Bilt points at 2.2 cents each and JetBlue points at 1.35 cents each, so this transfer option may be most useful when you need to top off your TrueBlue account or find an especially valuable partner award. You can redeem JetBlue points for flights on select partner airlines, including United Airlines, Qatar Airways and Etihad Airways. Unlike awards on JetBlue-operated flights, partner award prices don't necessarily track the cash fare. JetBlue doesn't publish an award chart for these redemptions, so you'll need to search your origin and destination to see available flights and pricing. Earn 200,000 IHG One Rewards bonus points. For a limited time, with the new IHG One Rewards Premier Select Credit Card. Plus, enjoy up to $300 in Food & Beverage Rewards annually at IHG Hotels & Resorts. Member FDIC. Partner offer. Terms apply. A Bilt spokesperson said that the company is "looking forward to doing more and more with TrueBlue and JetBlue in the Bilt neighborhood ecosystem over the coming months." That could lead to future promotions, such as a Rent Day transfer bonus or a Mosaic status match challenge. Bottom line. JetBlue is a useful addition to Bilt's already strong transfer-partner lineup, and the 1:1 ratio matches the best standard transfer ratio offered by other rewards programs. Still, TPG's October 2026 valuations peg Bilt points at 2.2 cents each and JetBlue points at 1.35 cents each. So, this option will be most useful when you need to top off your TrueBlue balance or find a valuable JetBlue or partner award. JetBlue adds a second daily nonstop to Cali: fares from $139 out of Fort Lauderdale.

JetBlue adds a second daily nonstop to Cali: fares from $139 out of Fort Lauderdale. JetBlue's entry challenges Avianca's monopoly on the Fort Lauderdale-Cali nonstop, with introductory one-way fares from $139. Published: Oct 16 2026, 9:40 PM EDT JetBlue launched daily nonstop service from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to Cali, Colombia's Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (CLO) on October 15, 2026, giving South Florida travelers a second direct option on a route where Avianca has flown without a U.S. competitor since July. Introductory one-way fares start at $139 for November departures on jetblue.com, before bag fees. Avianca began its own daily FLL-CLO nonstop in July 2026, three months before JetBlue entered. JetBlue's arrival turns the route into a two-carrier competition, which typically compresses fares. Spirit Airlines previously served Fort Lauderdale to Cali before the carrier exited the market, leaving South Florida Colombia travelers with fewer direct choices until Avianca moved in. Why Cali is getting two nonstops from Fort Lauderdale. Cali, Colombia's third-largest city with a population of approximately 2.28 million, has historically been harder to reach from the United States than Medellín or Bogotá. Before 2026, U.S. travelers from South Florida typically connected through a hub or booked into a different Colombian city. The FLL-CLO route addresses that gap: Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport is Colombia's third-busiest by passengers and operates around the clock. The airport is located near Palmira, outside the city, so travelers arriving in Cali should budget additional time and ground transportation to reach the city center. JetBlue's October timing also positions it for Cali's biggest travel window. The city's annual Feria de Cali opens December 25, anchored by the Salsódromo - a mass dance parade that draws international visitors to what Cali calls its identity as the world's salsa capital. Booking now for the Feria's late-December dates puts travelers ahead of the holiday surge. What jetblue charges - and what that includes. Introductory one-way fares from Fort Lauderdale to Cali start at US$139 for November departures, according to fare data checked October 13, 2026 on JetBlue's website. The reverse fare, Cali to Fort Lauderdale, starts at US$246 one-way. Both figures are base fares and exclude checked-bag fees; JetBlue charges separately for bags on its lowest-priced Blue fares. Departure times for the route had not been officially confirmed as of mid-October. Book through jetblue.com or the JetBlue app, searching FLL to CLO. Does jetblue fly to Colombia? More than you may know. The Cali route makes Fort Lauderdale JetBlue's fourth Colombian city. The airline already operates daily FLL nonstops to Medellín, Cartagena, and Barranquilla - the last launched October 1, 2026, just two weeks ahead of Cali. The Colombia expansion is part of JetBlue's largest-ever Fort Lauderdale schedule, which now includes more than 125 daily departures to over 55 nonstop destinations - up more than 75 percent from the same period a year ago. Since December 2025, JetBlue has added 24 new nonstop destinations from FLL. "Fort Lauderdale has always been part of JetBlue's DNA and a cornerstone of our network," CEO Joanna Geraghty said at the schedule's July announcement. What the State Department says about flying into Cali. Travelers should read the U.S. State Department's Colombia travel advisory before booking. As of the advisory's most recent update - March 31, 2026 - Colombia carries a Level 3 rating: Reconsider Travel. Risks cited include crime, terrorism, civil unrest, and kidnapping. The Valle del Cauca department, which surrounds Cali, carries a Level 4 Do Not Travel rating - but the advisory explicitly excludes Cali from that higher restriction. U.S. government employees are permitted to visit Cali only with special authorization. The advisory also carries a specific warning about dating apps across Colombia: "Many U.S. citizens in Colombia have been drugged, robbed, and even killed by Colombian criminals posing as dates," according to the State Department, which advises travelers to meet new contacts in public places, watch their drinks being prepared, and share details of any planned meeting with a trusted contact. Cali ranks relatively high among Colombian cities in ongoing security concerns. Travel Off Path's safety index gives the city a score of 45 out of 100. How to fly from Fort Lauderdale to Cali, Colombia. JetBlue operates one daily nonstop between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport (IATA: CLO) near Cali. Book at jetblue.com or through the JetBlue app. As of mid-October 2026, introductory one-way fares start at US$139 from FLL (November departures, before bag fees), with reverse fares from US$246. Alfonso Bonilla Aragón Airport is situated between the city of Cali and the municipality of Palmira in the Cauca River valley. It operates 24 hours a day and is managed by Aerocivil, Colombia's civil aviation authority, which has run the airport since September 2025. Travelers should arrange ground transportation in advance; rideshare apps and regulated taxi services are available at the airport, but the State Department advises against hailing street taxis in Colombia due to documented robbery risks. For travelers arriving near year-end, Cali sits just one hour behind Fort Lauderdale until U.S. clocks fall back on November 1; after that date, both cities share the same time until March.
