Mixpanel launches Agent Intelligence to track AI agents.

Mixpanel launches Agent Intelligence to track AI agents. Tue, 6th Oct 2026 (Today) Mixpanel has launched Agent Intelligence, a product designed to help teams measure the performance of AI agents. The tool links agent activity to customer behaviour and business outcomes. The release comes as product teams rapidly add AI agents to software products and face pressure to show whether those systems improve customer journeys or business metrics. Teams have often had to choose between limited visibility into agent performance and stitching together results from separate observability and analytics tools. Agent Intelligence is designed to bring those views together in one place. Mixpanel says the product lets teams examine conversations, review cost, latency and error metrics, and connect those interactions to broader user activity within the same product journey. Agent conversations can be tracked against the same user identity as other events recorded in Mixpanel. Those interactions can then appear in funnels, replays, cohorts and retention reports, helping teams assess whether an agent interaction helped a user complete a task or created friction. Mixpanel says the product also records agent activity and reconstructs it into full conversations. Users can inspect exchanges turn by turn, including tool calls and results, rather than trying to rebuild the sequence from logs. "There's no shortage of tools that will show you what your AI agent did. There are far fewer that can tell you what that means for your customers and your business," said Anant Gupta, Chief Technology Officer, Mixpanel. "Every product leader I talk to is asking the same ROI questions about what they're building: Is the agent moving people through the funnel or getting in their way? Are power users getting something out of it that new users aren't? Did switching models actually improve the experience? Those are the types of questions we built Agent Intelligence to answer, and we've been using it to evaluate Mixpanel Agent inside our own product," Gupta said. Broader update The launch comes alongside a wider set of additions across Mixpanel's platform. It has expanded Mixpanel Agent so it can take on more analytical work, added no-code experimentation tools, and updated its Context Engine to deliver answers based on a team's existing work. Mixpanel has also introduced AI-powered data governance tools intended to help users keep underlying data reliable. Together, the updates reflect a broader push by analytics suppliers to tie AI features more directly to product decision-making and measurement. In Mixpanel's description, experimentation and feature flagging are central to the new workflow. Teams can compare prompts, tool configurations or models and measure which versions produce better customer and business results. The system also includes exploratory analysis through Mixpanel Agent, root-cause analysis for changes in performance or costs, and proactive KPI monitoring to identify issues early. The aim is to help teams move from diagnosis to testing and iteration without switching between multiple systems. Customer view Mixpanel included comments from Sprout Social, which has built several AI agents, including Listening and Insights. The software company said one of the main challenges has been understanding whether an agent response actually helped a customer achieve an outcome. "We've built several agents at Sprout, including Listening and Insights. But knowing an agent responded doesn't tell us whether the customer achieved their goal, and that's what matters most to us," said Blake Kurinsky, Senior Director of Product Management, Sprout Social. "Before Agent Intelligence, we tracked each agent interaction as a separate custom event. Now we can see the full conversation in one view, including what the customer did and whether it solved their request," Kurinsky said. Agent Intelligence is available in early access. Mixpanel says it is used by more than 29,000 companies and positions the new product as part of a broader effort to help product teams judge whether AI features are changing customer behaviour in measurable ways.

Mixpanel introduces Agent Intelligence, helping product teams build and measure more effective AI agents.

Mixpanel introduces Agent Intelligence, helping product teams build and measure more effective AI agents. New product connects agent conversations to customer behaviour and business outcomes, alongside broader additions that help teams experiment faster, hand off more legwork to AI and ensure more trusted and valuable answers. Mixpanel, the global leader in product intelligence, today introduced a new product, Agent Intelligence, alongside additional new features. Agent Intelligence shows teams the effectiveness of the AI agents they build, the customer impact and what to do next. Teams are shipping AI features in their products so fast that they don't always know whether they actually work. When shipping an agent, teams have historically faced a choice: fly blind without knowing how the agent affects customers or the business, or waste time using different observability and analytics tools to try to piece together the full picture. "There's no shortage of tools that will show you what your AI agent did. There are far fewer that can tell you what that means for your customers and your business," said Anant Gupta, Chief Technology Officer at Mixpanel. "Every product leader I talk to is asking the same ROI questions about what they're building: Is the agent moving people through the funnel or getting in their way? Are power users getting something out of it that new users aren't? Did switching models actually improve the experience? Those are the types of questions we built Agent Intelligence to answer, and we've been using it to evaluate Mixpanel Agent inside our own product." Know what an agent did, whether it mattered and what to do next. Agent Intelligence connects agent performance to customer behaviour so teams can see what changed for the customer, whether it drove a business outcome and what to build or improve next. Tell a good agent conversation from a bad one. Cost, latency and error metrics arrive pre-loaded with no dashboard to build first. If a conversation doesn't go well, the full story is right there. Agent activity is recorded as scattered fragments, and Mixpanel stitches them back into the conversations they belong to. Teams can open the actual exchange, turn by turn, with every tool call and its result underneath. Going deeper to inspect a conversation no longer means reconstructing it from logs. Measure agent outcomes, not just activity. Customers don't experience an agent as a separate product: It's one step in a larger journey. In Mixpanel, agent conversations become events tied to the same user identity as everything else a team tracks. Those events then show up in funnels, replays, cohorts and retention reports, so teams see the complete user journey. As a result, teams can finally answer the questions that product leaders are asking about the impact agent interactions are having on customers. Make agents better with familiar tools. With Mixpanel, teams go beyond understanding and turn insights into action. They can test changes to their agents against real customer and business outcomes. Experimentation and feature flagging let builders compare new prompts, tool configurations, or models, and see which ones actually move the metrics that matter. Knowing what to test is part of the loop too. Mixpanel Agent handles exploratory analysis, AI-powered root-cause analysis digs into everything from performance changes to rising costs and proactive KPI monitoring catches issues early. From there, Mixpanel helps surface opportunities and design the next experiment, so teams can keep learning, testing, and building better agents. "We've built several agents at Sprout, including Listening and Insights. But knowing an agent responded doesn't tell us whether the customer achieved their goal, and that's what matters most to us," said Blake Kurinsky, Senior Director of Product Management at Sprout Social. "Before Agent Intelligence, we tracked each agent interaction as a separate custom event. Now we can see the full conversation in one view, including what the customer did and whether it solved their request." Agent Intelligence is available today in early access. For more details, visit mixpanel.com/ai/agent-intelligence. Additional new features debut alongside Agent Intelligence. With this release, Mixpanel is also making it easier for teams to move from insight to action across the platform with the following updates: a more powerful Mixpanel Agent can take on more of the analytical legwork, no-code experimentation helps teams test and ship faster without relying on engineering, a more connected Context Engine delivers richer answers grounded in your team's work and AI-powered data governance keeps the data behind those answers clean and trustworthy. About mixpanel. Mixpanel is the leading product intelligence platform, trusted by more than 29,000 companies to help understand how people use the products they build. By combining powerful analytics with AI that knows your business, Mixpanel helps teams see what's working, diagnose what's not, and decide what to build next. Learn more at mixpanel.com.

How Mixpanel's Agent Intelligence helps AI agent efficiency.

How Mixpanel's Agent Intelligence helps AI agent efficiency. October 01, 2026 Agent Intelligence has been built to answer the questions leaders ask about ROI on agents they build, says Mixpanel's Chief Technology Officer Anant Gupta In the race to properly adopt AI, enterprises risk shipping out at such a pace that they might not know if the technology actually works as expected, yet a web of different observability and analytics tools can be time-consuming and costly. That is why product intelligence company Mixpanel has introduced Agent Intelligence, an insights platform to show teams the effectiveness of the AI agents they build in one service. Anant Gupta, Chief Technology Officer of Mixpanel, tells AI Magazine: "AI Magazine designed Agent Intelligence to answer the question: How is AI in the product experience impacting your users? "Mixpanel can connect agent conversations to real customer behaviour and the business outcomes that follow. We also give you the tools to run experiments and optimisations, so you can continuously improve how users experience your agents." Mixpanel: Unifying agentic analytics tools. "There's no shortage of tools that will show you what your AI agent did. There are far fewer that can tell you what that means for your customers and your business," Anant says. "Every product leader I talk to is asking the same ROI questions about what they're building: Is the agent moving people through the funnel or getting in their way? Are power users getting something out of it that new users aren't? Did switching models actually improve the experience? "Those are the types of questions we built Agent Intelligence to answer, and we've been using it to evaluate Mixpanel Agent inside our own product." Is the agent moving people through the funnel or getting in their way? Anant Gupta, Chief Technology Officer of Mixpanel Agent Intelligence not only shows agent performance but connects it to the customer's behaviour, allowing IT teams to see what changes for the customer, whether it drives the desired business outcomes or not and how it can improve. If the conversation between an agent and customer doesn't go well, the full story is returned back to IT teams. Mixpanel combines agent analytics so the exchanges can be analysed turn by turn alongside every tool call and its result. However, Agent Intelligence goes beyond the customer and agent conversation. Recognising this, Mixpanel ties events leading up to the conversation to the same user identity to ensure the complete customer journey is seen, not just the conversation. Mixpanel also offers the ability to strengthen AI agents with familiar tools through Agent Intelligence. It handles exploratory analysis, AI-powered root-cause analysis digs into everything from performance changes to rising costs and proactive KPI monitoring catches issues early. From there, Mixpanel helps surface opportunities and design the next experiment, so teams can keep learning, testing, and building better agents. Agent Intelligence, in summary * The platform connects agent performance to customer behaviour to determine true business outcomes. * Teams can review turn-by-turn tool calls and results to distinguish good exchanges from bad ones. * Agent conversations are tied to user identities and tracked in funnels, cohorts and retention reports. * Builders can compare prompts, tool configurations and models against real customer outcomes. * A connected Context Engine delivers richer answers while keeping underlying data clean and trustworthy. Other features released alongside Agent Intelligence. With the announcement of Agent Intelligence, Mixpanel has promised its customers more updates and releases alongside it to make it easier for enterprises to move from insight to action across the Agent Intelligence platform. One of the releases is a more powerful Mixpanel Agent, which can take on more of the analytical legwork. No-code experimentation features can help teams test and ship faster without relying on engineering, and a more connected Context Engine delivers richer answers with AI-powered data governance to keep the data behind its answers clean and trustworthy. Key partners for Mixpanel. Google Cloud: Mixpanel partners with Google Cloud to integrate its product analytics platform with Google's scalable data warehouse, BigQuery.
