2026 Summer Hiring Dates - June 22nd - August 14th.  The role of TRIO Tutor-Mentor is vital in ensuring inclusive learning environments that allow each learner to reach their full potential, supporting self-directed individual and collaborative learning, and leveraging resources that contribute to student growth, development, and well-being.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide feedback on student progress.

• Construct and submit evaluations for each student.

Mentoring (30%)

• Serve as a role model for and ensure the safety of low-income, first-generation students in college-preparatory activities on- and off- campus

• Monitor program-wide compliance with KSC and UBP guidelines.

• Respond positively and proactively to student issues as they arise, and report in a timely manner.

• Maintain a positive and supportive community environment.

Other (10%)

• Attend and contribute to all trainings and staff meetings.

• Complete other programmatic duties as assigned.

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

• Current enrollment in a college degree program with a minimum of 45 credits at the college level, or recent completion of a degree.

• Demonstrated academic success.

• Enthusiasm, integrity, leadership, and self-responsibility

• Interest in working with adolescents.

• Commitment to working collaboratively with a multi-facetted team of staff.

• Interpersonal skills, sensitivity to the needs of the disadvantaged, and commitment to the goals of the Upward Bound Programs.

• All offers of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a Background Review.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience tutoring or mentoring youth.

• Experience as a student in a TRIO program.

This position will be a part of a Youth Skills Camp.
